How many of you here dare to criticize this performance, comparing it to Kissin, or Lang Lang (who ruins it) without hearing Der Meister himself? If you have not heard Alfred Grunfeld's 1910 recording (there is a video here) - just shut the fcuk up, because you don't know jack about this piece. Yes, she is slow, but Lang Lang is ENTIRELY too fast. The recording by Jean-Yves Thibaudet is the closest thing we have to Grunfeld's interpretation in modern sound.

Good job. I liked it better than the lang lang version. Music is not about playing fast or trying to show off. You did well and it was a good interpretation.

Ignore the other comments. The trouble with classical music at YouTube is that all these misfit boys want to act pompous and be critics. Of course, when you visit their channels to see what their accomplishments are, there's nothing there.

lang lang may play it excessively fast and make ridiculous faces, but i'm not too fond of this version either. way too much rubato. it takes away from the style of the piece.

kissin's version is best.

Unnecessary hand movements in some parts, makes it a lot harder for herself :S This is good to watch if you're really just learning the piece.
