  • Wish I could find a job.

  • wow! thanks for sharing. x

  • Excellent! I thought that this was lost for good. In the movie, but not in the video or CD.

  • Actually her bass is out of tune, the high A she hits repeatedly in the verse is off by at least a half tone.

  • Fantastic live, but why no more camera on Tina? Flawed.

  • Judy's in the bedroom, engaged in masturbation.

Bob is in the pen again, for child molestation.

    They've asked for religious counseling.

They've asked for a holy man.

    A member of their fellowship,

The son of Billy Graham . . .

  • Few days ago I bought 9 Talking Heads CD and DVD; I found such video, really amazing, awesome. Great bass scale, I am a bassman (not prof), I hope I will find others to play TH here in Rome; I see only a guitar.

  • this is absolutely fucking amazing!

  • If you watch their live footage chronological, you'll notice all of their instrumental technique improves drastically as the years go by. Of course, they also surrounded themselves with better instrumentalists and seemed to learn a lot from them (especially Tina).

  • Sigh ... Tina! I heard her technique wasn't that good. Her sound was though and yep - her bass owned this song. Sheer class.

  • Look at that stack of PA speakers blocking the audience view of Chris Franz. Man PA's have come a long way in 30 years, smaller, they sound a tone better, and linear arrays are now hung from the ceiling so they're out of the way. I remember when going to a Neil Young or Rush show would have your ears ringing for a week and they sounded like crap compared to concerts I go to now.

  • Perfect proof that less is more!

  • If you really listen to the lyrics, David Byrne was talking about YouTube way back in the 1970's!

  • So so good. Rock. Punk. Reggae. Classical. Soul. All in one song. Genius.

  • fantastique!!!

  • Judy's in the bedroom, scouting up locations........WOW!!!! I have not heard this song in ages. I can remember playing this song, over, and over, and over!! And staring at all those pictures they took of every little part of their bodies and placed them on the cover of the 33 vinyl!! Saying OMG!!..thats an awful lot of POLAROID pictures! ha ha ....glad I got to see it in a "live" version, well done and thank you....Oh and by the way, the Bass guitar is play by a chick...and played well ;O)

  • Ridiculously pleasing thank you!

  • I remember this show. We sat behind Andy Warhol. This is a great video, thanks for posting.

  • Wasn't the Entermedia on 2nd Ave. & 12th? That was an awesome venue.

  • Yes, Incredible. Thank you VERY MUCH for posting!!!

  • Looove this; thank you for posting. "Big Country", maybe?

  • Awesome. Awsome, Awesome...thanx for posting

  • One of my favorite songs. perfect Art Rock. I always loved the little jam at the end of the song.

  • deciphering what your nick could mean was almost as much fun as the video.

  • Who knows! It's dadaistic stuff ;)

  • Reminds me of the exhibit at the museum... Dada at Moma...lol. Anyway, i love this song, and damn that television!

  • Awesome find, are there any more vids from this show besisdes found a job and thank you for sending me an angel?

  • heads rule

  • "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" Brilliant.

  • Fantastic bass playing by Tina Weymouth, and Byrne is a great rythm guitarist!

  • Oh man she's such a melodic player - she's such a good groover. Lot's of my favorite Talking Heads songs are very bass-driven, like this one.

  • I was at this show, seated a few rows from the stage, dead center, and just a few feet from Andy Warhol! Afterwards we snuck into the party downstairs and hung out with Tina Weymouth and then Joey Ramone. Later we met Chris Frantz and David Byrne. It was pretty heady stuff for then 15 year old me, a night I'll never forget. Whoever posted this video has my profound thanks, I remembered the entire show was taped, and I've been searching for it for many years. I'll keep looking for the rest !

  • i've got just this one. i found it in a dvd included with the remastered version of more songs. i hope youtube won't remove it too. anyway i really envy you! :)

  • YOU DA MAN!!

  • You rock! Warhol, Joey...man oh man....

  • Lucky you. I don't believe you. But yeah.

  • Great song and performance. What kind of bass is Tina playing? Does anyone know?

  • gibson les paul triumph.

  • Thanks.

  • is this song about you tube, people inventing situations putting them on tv, then getting noticed .very prophetic for 1978

  • Uh, not really. It's about people turning off the tv and having real lives instead.

The Talking Heads were so blasted good -- made watching the Grammies last night painful.

  • this is awesome.. do you have any other songs from this show?

  • no, this was a bonus included in the cd "more songs about buildings and food"

  • Love this tune, love this album, love this band.

  • HOLY CRAP. I was at THIS show. 5th row seats. Andy Warhol sat behind us. I remember saying...I have better seats than Andy Warhol...Life changing event

  • i love them

  • they peaked in 1979 with fear of music....but 78 was a great year in music for sure...saw them at beacon theatre in NY 1978 new years eve!

  • yeah, and by '84 they just lapsed into nothing....too bad, they were only them

  • man i wish the heads would stop the fighting and do another tour like the police did

  • tell that to David Byrne, the other members wanted to get back together but he's completely against the idea

  • @Brock2097 "tell that to David Byrne, the other members wanted to get back together but he's completely against the idea"

That's true but they only wanted to do it for money. For Byrne to do it he must have really wanted to feel it from the gut to do it. Obviously something to this day is bugging him to be able to get back together with the rest.

David is usually the one who gets flack for being a "jerk" but the other members have their faults too

  • Love it!!! I miss these years! Love the Les Paul Studio Bass Tina is using... strange little ax, they were.

  • Excellent A/V quality! Always a classic - defn a different sound from that of 'expanded heads'.

  • never seen this before, great stuff.

  • The filming is great as well - at about the four minute mark you can see the very notes JH is playing, and then in the background Tina (O Tina)doing the most gorgeous stuff with the bass. In fact, this is the first time I have ever wanted to be a bass guitar.

  • Class.

  • I am starving for clips of their 78-79 shows - this is wonderful - what a treat - I preferred them as a 4-piece, and this mix is nice and meaty - big thanks for the great upload!

  • Many thanks, dadaisticsurgeon, for uploading this! Plan to cover this song hopefully with the band. Sounds like Jerry's mic is turned down though. Not to sound too greedy, but would you happen to have more from this show? This is from Brick dvd, right? I'd like to have this show in full quality.

  • i haven't got the entire show. this was a bonus included in the cd "more songs about buildings and food". i'm happy you liked. bye

  • Very cool. One of their most underrated songs.
