This song just does something to my emotions i can't explain.. but i was once in a spot where the girls in "the gymnast" were..and would give anything to be there again.
that song will live forever in my heart and i think Jane's got such a talented and beautiful voice..she can go really far with her career if she wants..more power to you jane..and all my love...Kristi from Baytown texas
Just finished watching "The Gymnast" and though the movie is wonderful, I actually watch it over and over just to hear this song at the end...The song is no less than splendid.
This song is a good example of the possibility, that she uses the parameters of populair music , but that her songs are in fact as classical as a Schubert- or a Hugo Wolf-song. Her longer songs often feel like a symphony-part, because of the build-up and the structure, the longer wave-lenght of them. I think, that her CD's belong in the classical department of shops.
This is fabulous. I'm sorry to say I haven't invested the time in becoming familiar with Siberry's music but this song and especially the live version of Love is Everything from Live at Sessions at West 54th can make me cry which is pretty high praise from me.
Oh u have to get into everything u possibly can of Jane's music...this is a song that is though beautiful isnt close to the beauty of others...Calling All Angels,The Lobby,The valley,on and on
I caught the last two scenes of this movie and it looked interesting. But this song! OMG so beautiful! And it went so well with the happenings of the scene wherein it was played. Thank you for posting it! :D
This is Siberry when she was at the height of her popularity in Canada and even then she had many deeply personal and somewhat quirky songs. Her albums tended to tug between pop tunes you could hum or sing along with and performance art. That was what made her so intresting
I don't now what images should go with this song, so I like this...this is one of my favourite songs - it breaks my heart - but ask me to explain it and I can't - I see my own images but don't know for sure....
Thumbs up if "The Gymnast " bought you here......

Jane Siberry is very underrated.
I saw her at Ontario Place back when I was in university. It was an incredible performance and a highlight of that time in my life.
Few songs can make me cry. This is one of them.
