I saw this movie over 20 years ago and it's obvious that it has been cut to pieces here! According to Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide, Escape from Sobibor is 150 minutes long. That means more than 30 minutes is missing. Why? That's disgraceful! Why post the movie at all if 30 minutes is missing? Please post the movie right or not at all!
Oh, and also, in terms of giving evidence in a trial, yes sometimes witness accounts might not be reliable over a long period of time, but you can see yourself the horrors of what happened to them, it's not something they would forget. All of these camps were in Poland with four of them near the Russian border (Belzec, Majdanek, Sobibor and Treblinka) while Auschwitz-Birkenau was in the south-west of Poland while Chelmno was in central west Poland

there were 6 death camps function fast and 1 made it 7 function slow. The most infamous of the death camps were Auschwitz-Birkenau where as many as 2 million may have been murdered; Sobibor where about 250,000 were murdered; Treblinka where 725,000 may have been murdered; Chelmno where 600,000 were murdered; Belzec where 600,000 were murdered and Majdanek where 235,000 were murdered. Another camp was found in north-west Poland at Stutthof where 67,000 were murdered.

Some people don't seem to GET IT, this movie is not very acurate. I have been to Auschwitz & everyone knows that a lot of people survived. When we talk about Treblinka, Belzec & Sobibor you can't talk about survival %, there was very little chance. There was no industry like in Auschwitz, there was only 1 job-extermination. I think only 3 people lived from Belzec & very few from Treblinka & they killed a lot more. Even the guards were marked for death, sent straight to the Russian front after

I dont know if the idiots that are posting on here that the Holocaust is some sort of lie, are doing it for shock tactics or just plain attention seekers!!!What i do know is that Sobibor like treblinka were death camps, my grandad arrived with fellow British troops at the end of the war, he told my dad that the smell was unreal and that there were masses of corpses just lying around. This movie made me weep. The Holocaust did happen and even the so called work camps were much worse than this movie depicts. Visit your library and see for yourselves.
Issues with this movie: 1) Prisoners out after dark. 2) Prisoners openly socializing. 3) Prisoners too healthy and well dressed. 4) Uncrowded barracks. 5) Dancing to a live band?

Do you think they would be able to let people lose so much weight in a short time for one single movie, that could kill them.
All these "socializing" happens in secret. And you cannot tell they are uncrowded, they did not give a look inside.
Also, the dancing is probably to distract theirselves from reality.
I've been to Auschwitz and during the time the prisoners went and came from their labor, a live band played when they walked over the ground.
Its a facade.

disgusting how the POW's were treated during the World Wars this movie shows part of what went on in the POW camps the Germans was not the only ones that treated the POW's badly, but the Germans did gas the Jews but watching this just think just one of the Jew's that the Nazi's killed during the war there might have been the cure for cancer etc but I will always watch this movie and think about how it would have been in these camps I do not think I would be able to live in these conditions

I saw this movie over 20 years ago and it's obvious that it has been cut to pieces here! According to Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide, Escape from Sobibor is 150 minutes long. That means more than 30 minutes is missing. Why? That's disgraceful! Why post the movie at all if 30 minutes is missing? Please post the movie right or not at all!

Oh, and also, in terms of giving evidence in a trial, yes sometimes witness accounts might not be reliable over a long period of time, but you can see yourself the horrors of what happened to them, it's not something they would forget. Some poor Jews were even made to remove tattoos of those who had 'gone for a shower' (by scraping the skin away) because the Nazis wanted to turn them into book covers or lampshades-examples of this still exist now.

Also they did find cans of the Zyklon B gas, which is what the Nazis used. I saw this movie in the fifth grade, which was over 20 years ago. I have looked for it in video stores but never could find it. I am glad to have found it on YouTube. I pray the world never again sees this kind of horrific cruelty and evil. If we ever do, however, may we have the same courage and display the same valiance as these heroes.
