How can any of you think Syu won? He's an amazing guitarist but he plays the same line over and over again. It's that constant tapping sequence and him descending down the neck. Jani was much better in the fact that he was original in all his licks as compared to Syu. His tone was off but he still had much better creativity.

Get a band... Make a band. You are, for me and many other guitarist, one of the best electric guitarist in the world. Some years ago, I had a dream, I wished to see Sonata arctica, but this dream faded when you had to leave the band.

Come back, you'r metal, you have great ideas (remember "My Selene" !) and a huge guitar skill.

los dos son buenisimos guitarristas, diversos y bastante versatiles, syu por un lado es bien tradicional al estilo japonés, su ESP, atuendos extravagantes y esquemas ritmicos rapidos. Por otro lado jani fiel al estilo europeo, de un shred espectacular y esquemas amplios a la hora de improvisar. Definitivamente jani es mejor en tecnica. Me habria gustado que los dos hubiesen usado guitarras esp, pero supongo que aqui la diferencia marca bien en lo que es calidez, y potencia.

Not bagging on syu, but ive seen him play that scale over and over again in alot of his vids. Its really simple once you learn it, its just a chromatic scale followed by a one string scale with some bends and the ocassional arpeggio/sweep. Its odd though, every time he plays it, it sounds completly different. What im getting at is, hes very creative. Jani is just as creative but never plays the same pattern. I love them both for different reasons, but thats just me.

Jani seems to be more worried about being super fast than giving some melody to the solos. Syu is actually trying to go with the song, to put some feeling into it. Playing faster doesn't mean playing better music. Each guy is good in it's own thing, and in the end it depends on what you prefer.

In my opinion both of them really have a good approach of music . I mean I loved how Syu succeeded to mix feelings and technical elements in his playing, it give such a " lovable" aspect , "feeling" has it' commonly said. But in the other hand , I really feel something from Jani's playing and yet , he's obviously one heck of a shredder xD. I'd say that his  "soul" is more abstract than Syu's .

Jani might technically be better, or at least does a few more technical things in his playing. But I enjoyed Syu's solos more, and by a fucking mile. His technique and scalings are rather simple, but he's really, really good at them. Jani's bends made my ears suffer. Otherwise an awesome performance from both of them. There's no question about them being anything other than great guitarists.
