I like David Brooks here and I didn't think I was going to at first based on the title of the video. He basiclly says, yeah they're harmfull, but he puts it into perspective. They're just poo flingers. They stir up shit, open the can of worms, etc. They know what to say and how to say it to get a crowd riled up, but this country has what, 300 million people in it, how many people listen to Rush Limbaugh and Fox and what percentage of that takes it seriously? They are not the majority.

I think some people are mistaken about the notion of independent. For instance, I'm an Independant, but I'm very to the right of the GOP on pretty much all issues. Independant doesn't mean "irresolute & moderate centrist", it just means one that dislikes the two establishment-cartel parties.
