I have a question for any table tennis who knows what he's talking about: I always had a very light frame (70 grams) for my paddle. Does a heavier frame has more control?
@NexxtGen physically no, because it will add more energy to your strokes, in fact, youll need more control just to get the same control you have with a lighter blade. Then, if you get a similar woods blade, but with more layers (plys), it will get heavier, but stiffer, so it wont rebound that much, which means more control. But, it all depends on the blade... there are lighter blades with less control than heavier ones, got it?
Besides having a superb analytical brain, Schlager also has fantastic "feel" on his hand. Just look at all the drop shots and long chops he made... (although no chops in this video, but i clearly remember some incredible chop shots in the 2003 Paris world championship).. simply unreal!
Personally I think Schlager is smarter then Waldner, but Waldner's talent is a lot great then Schlager's. Schlager is very objective, almost machine-like, while Waldner is dynamic and very versitile.
if you re a Schlager fan, mabe its more interesting if you post entire matches, like the famous ones from wc2003 against KLH,WLC,JSH.If you have them in your videoteque:)

What event is the footage from where he's playing Torben Wosik? It looks like the ECL but what year is it?

He is not only smart as a player. He is also a great table tennis analyst. His ideas will bring Europe much more strenght.

I figured since the '03 points are all over the internet and youtube, I'd post some rarer footage that would make for a nice compilation.
