  • I'll see you again …wait 4 me...

  • En to this in music class and I love it

  • I'm 9 and we had to list

  • Brilliant reworking of the Rodgers and Hart song from the 1930's. Fun story: Richard Rodgers wrote the music (the tune) first, around 1933. Then Lorenz Hart wrote and published 4 completely different sets of words to go with the tune. Only the fourth caught on. It was on the Billboard charts in 1949 with Mel Torme, 1957 with Elvis Presley and in 1961 came the blockbuster doo-wop version with The Marcels. Great tune, great talent every one.

  • Comment removed

  • There have been a lot of versions of this song, but I like the Marcels' version the best.

  • @ralphyboy25 Me too!

  • @ralphyboy25 Same here. My grandfather got me hooked on doo-wop as I was growing up, and I have loved it ever since.

  • @christophe323 I think one of the appealing aspects of doo-wop is it has that sense of 'fun' The melody, the delivery.... fun. A trait you don't find too much any more in this over serious world.

  • @ralphyboy25 Since 1934 over 30 at least.

  • fallout new vegas should have used this version =(

  • Im 15 I love This Song And The 50s .. What Do I WIN? ^.^

  • shit-pop began in the mid-90s, shit-hop in the 2000s - now it's nearly all un-music on the radio - that said there's still so much real stuff to enjoy from the 1920s to the 1990s

  • @sanjuz yo honestly i disagree wit u..hip hop is dope that shit u listen to on the radio isnt hip hop nd hip hop has been around since before 2000 it was even befor the 70's i luv hip hop the only reason im here is cuz of hip hop

  • @thinr1 I think that person knows that hip-hop has been around since the 70s. I think he/she meant that hip-hop took a turn for the worse (became "shit-hop", as he/she put it) in the 2000s and that mainstream pop music took a turn for the worse (became "shit-pop") even earlier in the 1990s. I basically agree because I think mainstream pop-music these days is generally not good and today's hip-hop is also not as good as it used to be used to be back in the 80s and 90s.

  • @thinr1 By the way, when I said that music today isn’t as good as it used to be, I’m just talking in GENERAL terms and refer to today’s music as a whole and how it used to be easier to find good music back in the day by just turning on the radio whereas now the music on the radio isn’t that good so you have to spend more time sorting through the bad music to find the good music. I know there are also good music artists out there today, and I don’t mean disrespect to those good artists.

  • @MusicFanOnline yea and i completly agree hip hop isnt wut it used to be i myself am a real hip hop artist nd beleive me my stuff is no where near wut kums out on the radio..but i guess imma have to wait til my mixtape is complete to prove it..

  • yo tengo 17 y amo esta cancion

  • i wonder what Rogers and Hart would think of this version....i think it would bring a smile to their faces.......

  • I woke up with this song in my head.....and i just turnend 30 :D

  • Grandiosa versión, más rápida, más rítmica y el coro de bombombombom se oye genial. Me encanta.

  • It was #1 Hit for 3 weeks in April '61, and also in several countries incl. New Zealand and Germany.

  • My favorite ice-cream!!

  • a certain American werewolf led me here

  • Thorpe park

  • lol..... -_-

  • I LUV THIS SONGGGG!!! <3 <3 <3

  • City 4 life

  • Love this song. Even at the end of the American Werewolf in London after David got shot.

  • awesome song.....when walkin in the mall i sing it makes me laugh and my girl

  • the first time i heard this song was in a flash animation of a blue vampire mooning

  • An american were Wolf in London.

  • God bless you yanks.....great do waddy waddy music

  • they don't make em like they used to. and i'm only in my twenties.

  • @sortilegus I second this. I'm not even yet twenty :)

  • @sortilegus I'm 18 years old and I grew up listening to two things: lots of death metal AND stuff like this. This song was one of my best childhood memories, no style of music can ever defeat the genius minds behind this.

  • @sortilegus Ya got that right! The Marcels...........the best. Sorry that you are only in your twenties........I'm in my sixties, and lived this stuff. You missed out on a bunch of fun. Keep listening!

  • @sortilegus smartboy. ;)

  • @sortilegus why do soooo many people put i love old music and im only 13,14,15 or im still at school,or im still in my twenties what difference does it make are you after acceptence from older people why dont you just put i like this kinda music my friends like shit

  • @grundy901 Because young people today are bombarded with the absolute worst music in history. Most people just assume it's because they like bad music, so why's it a bad thing for a young person to say, "Look, I'm not a complete moron, even though I'm surrounded by them"?

  • @sortilegus Some people still do, believe it or not! Look for The Baseballs, if you don't know them already. =)

  • @sortilegus so what?

  • @sortilegus This song was from 1961, before I was even before. But it's one of my all-time favorites.

  • @sortilegus Cool bro. nobody cares how old you are.

  • @sortilegus

Well aren't you a unique individual, you crazy non-conformist. :D

  • @sortilegus i agree..and i'm fifteen.

  • a great oldy, especially for this old guy born 1947. Of course I was at an impressional age when they came out in the 50s

  • @goldwing661 What does the word Impressional mean? DUH.

  • how can people not like this song:)

  • man city 4eva

  • Somone should make a troll version with "TROLOLOLOLOL" sung in the background in quartet form. That would make me DIE of laughter.

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! One of the GREATEST doo wop classics ever. THANK YOU for posting it....you have MADE my day & my week! CHEERS, mate! :)

  • MAN CITYYYYYYYYYY :)

  • Man, no offense, but I hate the rerecorded versions of the old songs. I don't know why complaition albums do that

  • @GialloHorror They do it to get around the copyright. A certain label may own the rights to the original recording, but not the song itself. To avoid having to pay the label, or if the label has denied the use of the original recording, they rerecord it. Thought I'd just let you know the reason why, though I agree 100%, don't think I've ever heard a rerecording that I like or comes anywhere near the original. Usually cos it's done on the cheap and quickly as possible using a computer!

  • @princeofthemods69 I should've known it had something to do with the copyright, and the cost of money.

I bought some compilation albums before, and was really disappointed when I heard the versions of older songs. From then on, I always look at the fine print and if I see "rerecording" I will not buy the CD

  • Absolutely fantastic song!!!!!!

  • @TJCATLOVER This beast actually sold 2.5 million copies!!! I spent an hour with Stu Phillips last week - he was the producer who put the Marcels on the map with this song 50 years ago. An amazing composer/arranger/conductor, he did the music for Battlestar Gallactica, Buck Rogers & Knight Rider as well as 12 albums as leader of Hollyridge Strings. go to his channel at bsgkr2000 & show Stu some love, we wouldn't have this song without him !!! He's earned it! chuck

  • I've heard a better version. Love to the awesome chamber choir of St Modans.

  • sure we thank frank and give nat a tip of the hat but this version is the cat's uknowwhat!

  • And what a great Knock off it is ;)

  • knockoff of frank sinatra version, made in 1945. fail

  • @lazorlasso Frank Sinatra did this song as a cover, which means someone did it before him. Just appreciate the music for how each artist interpreted it.

  • @KeldoDAntrell yea he does take a breath when he shouldn't have but watever still a great song!:)

  • einfach nur geil :D

  • Somehow I remember this song being a little different. I know a LOT of bands have done different covers, but wasn't it the Marcels that have the only one in this particular style? Hmm.. it's the "scat-like" part I'm remembering differently. Not sure how else to describe this, it's 3:57 AM and I am very tired. :D

  • @nandabun the delltones

  • @oktony61

    Hey, you're right. :D Thanks~

  • @nandabun

    you're very welcome

  • This version is flawed: right at the start the base takes a breath where he shouldn't after the first time he says "moon". Ruins the big intro for me.

  • @KeldorDAntrell ...you're senseless bud...kneel down on me? are you a musician?

  • Crankitup!!!! OOOOHHHHYYYYYEEEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • O Beijo do Vampiro

  • 1:50 is my favorite part...but why is this song so short XO

  • @nejileon12345 Back in the 30s--60s, 7" single records could only hold up to 3 minutes of music and most songs were shorter than that. Only in the 70s did 12" singles appear, allowing songs 4-8 minutes long, but they weren't very popular.

  • @MauLu96

They were pretty popular weren't they?

  • @MauLu96 actually you are incorrect on many levels.EP's held several(at least 4)and as many as 6 tunes."el paso" was the first real long song at over 4 minutes.a lot has to do with record speed but i am referencing 7' 45 rpm.

  • @nomiclas My bad.--and thanks for the info.

  • 3 people who doesnt like this tune deserve to die

  • A que les recuerda esta entrada?

  • if it wasnt for john landis i'd have never heard this
