I think everyone responsible did well to re-do, and re-debut in 1984. Also, Alex Trebek did better to incorporate his style of hosting, as opposed to any possible attempt to emulate Art Fleming. This was great to see:)
One thing I like is how Alex acknowledges that Art Fleming hosted before he did from time to time. Same thing with Pat and Vanna acknowledging Chuck and Susan on Wheel, despite Sony trying to make us believe that the current hosts were the original hosts of the shows.
You're welcome, but it's 9/*18*/83, not 9/8. Also, only Karen's last episode is on YouTube. Finally, "Super Jeopardy" was the bonus round of the 1978-79 version.
This man was returning Champion on many game show pilots. Who is Jack Champion?

How do you think Jay Stewart did announcing Jeopardy!

How do you think Jay Stewart did announcing Jonny Gilbert.

"Karen, you won the toss..."
I assume that means "tosses", otherwise one of the contestants didn't have a chance...

@michaeldoy Unless of course it was one of those 3 sided coins that one would buy from a Magic shop.

The money amounts were the same as in the 1978-79 version.
And the set looks like an early TRS-80 computer.
Was Radio Shack (who built and sold the TRS-80) going to sponsor the show??

It not aired. The 1st episode of Alex Trebek hosting Jeopardy! that aired is September 10, 1984 with modern theme instead Art Fleming's Theme

Jack Campion was a contestant on the pilot episode of "Second Chance", the precursor to "Press Your luck". See it here:

As a big J! fan, I thank you for uploading this. :)
This is one of my fave Jeopardy sets; up there with the red neon of season 1 and the grid set of the 1990s.

(Possibly a re-post. Sorry if it is.)
Taped 9/18/83. Wow. Thanks for posting this.
Karen was a multi-time champion in November 1978. She was dethroned by Brian Aronson, who was himself deposed the next day.
So, technically, that makes Karen Muranaka the first contestant to be brought back in the Trebek era.
