Actually, all the unexperienced demomen normally camp at one doorway spamming stickies. Most of the experienced demomen use pipes more than stickies, or at least as much.

pipes are good for spamming or shooting people run at you. Stickies are much more useful when you are in a fight with someone and they are also good for setting traps.
