  • Lols i live here

  • @TrueFails cool maybe I will when I am older aswell

  • I remember seeing crossing gates like these in Germany that have the flexible tennis court-like net or fence attatched.

  • ha we got independence from england

  • @daredevil49937 ok :3

  • @cindy1000000 great moment in history cuz we won the war!

  • Thats a Class 142 pacer, they are rubbish trains (i catch them everyday) they are 50 years old or so !

  • ok....which train are on about is rubbish?

  • Actually the Class 142 is 24 years old, and going to be around for at least another decade... I agree and think they are rubbish, but I do like them for some reason.

  • @ashdjames

Haha you mean 25 years old.

They are just a Leyland National on metal wheels.

Nasty trains they are but I must say I liked the Leyland National buses when they were around

  • I quite like the barriers. I got to take a video of one of the world's badly designed train crossings I happen to live near by.

It is a roundabout with 5 roads leading to it and has twin tracks in the centre of it.

  • Cool,I hoping to come here on 16th May.

    (Next month)

  • first vid ive seen on youtube with platform 1 being used

  • I've seen another video with that platform being used.

  • @BriWayne its platform 2 i live here i should know

  • @bengoad10 I think there maybe some confusion , the SWT unit is the service clearly arriving into Platform 1, the one which can only handle arrivals. The rest i agree are using platform 2.

  • @bengoad10 It didn't go over the crossover so therefore it went in went into Platform 1.

  • We are probably going to Paignton this year, how many times i'm not sure but i predict twice

  • I went to Paignton last year lol

  • I went twice last year sorry lol

  • I'm going once but i can promise you some videos of the level crossing and our dog is coming with us for the winter break in paignton so there will probably be some barking because he hates trains

  • Thanks.

  • ????

  • Great Video!

  • thank you

  • I know...that's why I put it on.

  • no i wasnt on about on this video lol i was on about the northern trains that use the pacers and how slow they go anyway lol

  • haha i use northern and the pacers do my head in ! gosh they are so slow and noisy and break down all the time. they are only on certain routes (i.e the slow route from sheffield to leeds) so i avoid that one because htey have much nicer newer ones on the fast route lol.

  • Well, ofcourse there slow because there's a train station and Paignton is as some people

say dead end line and means that the trains have to be slow because they pull in and out

    of the station.

  • Paignton is awesome..love going down there during the summer. Those crappy 142's..how FGW decided to use them again us beyond me..they are worse than the 143's..and thats saying something. I prefer the 150's or the 158/9's down there on the branch line...or just a HST will do me

  • I love paignton too.

  • My god, a sunny day in england!

  • Yes,we have our sunny days in England aswell.

  • About 12 pacers were leased from Northen Rail by First Great Western last year to cover for 158s being refurbished, they are used on the Exmouth and Barnstaple lines along with 150s and 153s but are due to be removed in 2010 (5 I think went off lease to FGW on the 31st october

  • What be removed? The level crossing?

  • The Pacers!

  • Oh,okay.

  • What's that?

  • The pacers are the BR name for group the trains heading away across the crossing in the first shot, class 142s along with 143s and 144s . I hope they don't replace the crossing anyway, I like videoing trains crossing while they hold up traffic for minutes when I go to Paignton! The crossing barriers seem to bounce a lot when coming down!

  • Yeah it was going to Exmouth? Don't ask everything about them I don't live in Paignton

I live in Tipton this video was taken during my hoilday.

  • me 2 i love it

  • Yes,in September 2006.

  • Yes,in September 2006.

  • They stay up.

  • Do the gates fold in when not in use?

  • Thanks,I hope I live one day too.

  • I want to go back to paignton when we next go on holiday for a full day out not just a snack at the train station.Oh and when we got off the train i saw one of the 2 level crossings and i will probably move to paignton to live and hopefully get a job there and get a chrysler grand voyager if there are any chrysler dealers in paignton.Paignton is a very good place no wonder i whant to go back there and I am hoping to go to paignton by first great weastern hst(high speed train) good vidieo.

  • there isnt any crsyler dealers in paignton but i think theres one in exeter and if your going to move there dont live in hele(torquay)

queen elizebeth drive or foxhole they are quite dodgey. preston and hookhills are nice places

  • A Pair of class 142's Donkey's) bouncing over Paignton Level Crossing! Donkeys at the seaside on a day out.
