Even though I shouldn't, I feel sorry for Kurt. Think about him this way: He worked all night to try and perfect the cure for the common cold FOR his dad, tried to not kill anyone on his first mission with Josh. Sure he went a little too far by starting an infection and killing the survivors' and his parents(dad for Kurt) but you can see that why he did it.
