  • What did he say that made them yell, I couldnt understand? @ 2:28?

  • Fai's real name is actually Yui...

  • According to CLAMP, the correct pronunciation of his name would rhyme with "eye", so instead of spelling it like "Fay", as they intended, they thought that this would confuse readers. Thus, they stuck with the spelling of "Fai".

  • YEEESSSS!!!! GO CARTOON NETWORK!!!!! PLEASE PUT ON TV!

  • WOOO! Go Vic!

  • they changed alot from the anime and the manga BUT its not A kiddy show, its got gore in the end

  • fai is the best. ahhhh i'm totally in love with fai!!!!!!

  • so true! but isn't tsubasa already shonen?

  • He is completely right about Tsubasa Chronicle. It has beautiful music and the animation is top of the line. I wish CN would start toonami again...I miss TOM. :(

  • tsubasa is officially over. sakura and syaoran didnt even hug. 4get any other couples

  • What exactly did he say at 2:27?

  • look at that lol, people thumbs down you anyways

  • Okay...so...I couldn't make out some stuff from the first minute or so.

So is Vic supporting "Fai" (as in lie) or "Fay"? (as in pay)

  • He's supporting Fai.

  • @StormeDragon666 People are making that mistake my real name is Fai and it's pronounced like [Eye or like you said Lie] Fay is a whole another name its useually the nickname for faith and sounds Pay or Gay but with an F then there is Fye which Fye is the french spelling of it Fai is the popular spelling

  • ew kurofai

  • Comment removed

  • Tsubasa doesn't have enough blood and gore?!? Have they WATCHED the OVA?!?!?!

  • True, OVAs are full blood and gore. But the anime is nothing like the manga. Its a show for little kids basically.

    As in: It sucks.

  • rofl. wellllll.... it's not ENTIRELY for little kids... and from what I've read of the manga, they didn't change that much.

  • Oh, honey, trust me. They changed A WHOLE BOLOGNA LOT.

    And made everyone OOC.

    Mostly Fai.

Like, so much its not even funny.

:3 Read the manga, sooooo much better. And there's no FaiChi elements! Yay!

  • I DID read the manga... and I guess I must have missed something because I didn't see that much difference. it's a bit dumbed down in certain places, but for the most part, I thought it followed the story and characters pretty well... maybe I need to re-read it, 'cause I don't think they changed much.

  • Well, it changed a lot. Like Fai's whistleing and junk. XD And took out the gory stuff and made it all happy. And stuff about Sakura's feathers...etc

  • TSUBASA=LIFE

PUT IT ON ADULT SWIM SO WE CAN WATCH IT HERE BASTARDS!!!!

i can only watch it online here

  • ha ha ^^ of all people Vic knows how many girls there are and how strong we are ^^ his legion of female fans shows that pretty well ;)

  • LOL i would NOT want it on cartoon network i'm glad it's on! FUNimation!

  • well, they aren't really doing, like, ANY anime on CN right now anyway. so, no, no Tsubasa for them. it's too good for those losers ^^

  • yea!!!!! i watch tsubasa though everyday though on tv i have the FUNimation channel and they show it on!

  • well yes they should put it on catoon network, toonami,or adult swim. just common girly!? no way! they should put the 52 episodes of tsubasa! the only thing that they should decide on is the tokyo revalation and a new upcommin' thats called infinity. but if ya'll want to ask why,go and email me cause i can't spoil execpt of the movies. sorry x[

  • Ok I love Vic as a voice actor and I'm not going to bash on anyone for an opinion but the fact is that because he's been chosen as Fai's (yes I still use this spelling just because I like it better even though I know and understand it's officially Fay) voice actor fan will ask him about the character. To hear him constantly go on about how straight Kuro and Fai are is annoying. Tsubasa is a cross over for all Clamp mangas AND animes.

  • Vic says he's doing the anime... so he should understand that based on other animes that crossover with tsubasa anime the only characters not already involved with a canon ship are Kurogane and Fai. Now if he wants to be a complete homophobe then he's free to say that they're interested in girls. But to ship Kuro with Tomoyo (who has always had a thing for Sakura) or Fai with Chii (whose one and only is established as Hideki) then we have a serious problem.

  • Not to mention, if you know who Fai based Chii on.. >>;;;;;

  • EXACTLY my point but I didn't mention it cause I didn't want to get bashed for spoilers. It's completely wrong to pair fai with Chii so who else are you gonna pair the poor mage with. Unless you're really cruel and expect the poor guy to be completely alone in the end the only option is Kuro-rin. End of story. Unless Clamp kills them both before the end which who knows... with Clamp that could be a possibility.

  • I plan to cosplay Fai this Feb. I hope I don't die! xD

  • I cosplayed Fai last con season. It was a lot of fun. I love acting all flamboyant yet mysterious. Good luck on your cosplay.

  • But then how about other people who don't care for yaoi and just don't think they fit together. It's not a rule to pair up two characters just because 'there's no one left', that's not really an argument. Now, it's true they do get awfully intimate with each other, and that makes it one of the most possible yaoi pairings I've seen, but that doesn't mean they MUST get paired together. I'd like yaoi fans to also accept non-yaoi fans and that some people might not agree with you on that part.

  • I never said anything like that. You've twisted the meanings of my words. I said that it is wrong to try to pair new characters in the Clamp-verse like Fai and Kuro with older characters from the fandom who already have established pairings like Tomoyo and Chii. In the Clamp universe characters often are fated to be with one another whether romantically or just platonically. Just look at Toya and Yukito or for crying out loud Sakura and Syaoran.

  • Kamui and Fuuma, Hedeki and Chii, the list goes on and on. They aren't necessarily gay pairings but it is heresy within the clamp fandom to try to say that established clamp pairings are not meant to be together or that one half of the pairing should be with another character. Now i do admit that in one of my later response posts I said something about Fai and Kuro needing to be the accepted pairing because there aren't any other options that aren't going to break already established pairs.

  • But keep in mind even that comment was not meant to be "OMFG they're totally gay for each other!" Like I pointed out Toya and yukito in Clamp-verse they are always together and their relationship can be seen as either gay or just very strong friendship but either way a person sees it they are supposed to be together as a "pair" That's how I see it with Fai and Kurogane's relationship.

  • They simply are meant to be together no matter which direction their feelings for each other lean towards. And with Clamp we'll never know if Fai and Kuro are actually gay or not because that's not their style they prefer to leave things up to fan interpretation. Even heterosexual pairs rarely kiss but they do give other strong hints and nudges to show fans what their intentions for the characters are.

  • Like I pointed out Toya and yukito in Clamp-verse they are always together and their relationship can be seen as either gay or just very strong friendship

I'd like to point out that at this point TouYuki is CANON. That means it isn't 'strong friendship'. Sakura and Clow himself confirmed this in the story, as well as Yukito telling Sakura he loved Touya.

  • And its says Yukito is in love with Touya in the back on Holic vol 1 in the bonus part. XDD

  • DAMMIT! I want the anime played. EVEN THOUGH the anime has NOTHING on the manga, and EVEN THOUGH they cut Hyuu and Sakura and Mokona sound horrible in the dub, I WANT TSUBASA PLZ.

Also, YOU WANT BLOOD AND GORE, WATCH THE OVA. Or read the manga. :3 (Well, mostly blood, not so much gore)

  • yeah the anime was cut of from the japanese television BECAUSE it had too MUCH blood and gore >_> so twisted

  • I know, and that's where it got good. Ah well, at least the OVA was good...better quality animation, too. :)

  • yeah Totally ^0^ (yes with a capital T XD)

  • The official spelling is in fact "Fay D. Flourite" and is pronounced with Fay rhyming with eye. End of story. Fay is not Japanese, therefore the correct spelling of his name is not "Fai". However, "Fai" is the official spelling of his name in America. "Fye" was something made up by fans.

But why should we care? We're all talking about the same person. And really, what the hell does Vic know? He refuses to do any research on the character he plays thus he is not a valid source of information.

  • You're one to talk for research because in Japanese, it IS spelled Fai. Actually, if you want to get REALLY technical, it's spelled Fuai as there is no "fa" sound in Japanese. But it's pronounced Fai. And my info comes straight from the horse's mouth. I own several volumes of the manga in Japanese.

  • Both of you are correct to an extent. The official name IS Fay D. Flourite (as said by Clamp itself), but it HAS been "romanized" as Fai D. Fluorite & Fye D. Flowright, but this is mostly amongst english publication of the manga (most of all the popular DelRey company). Though it's all pronounced the same so I don't really see the problem here ^_^ The only problem that CLAMP has made known was the fact that Fay's last name was supposed to spelled "Fluorite" (stone) instead of "Flourite"...

  • Right well however the hell you spell it doesn't really matter so long as you pronounce it right. My issue with Vic in this video is his blatant bashing of Kuro and Fai.

  • Ha! I loved that where he said "You know what? Half the world is girls!" XD Vic rocks. I actually think that the spelling of his character's name is Fai and pronounced like you're adding an f to the word eye. That's weird, but yeah. I love this series. I just watched the movie in english and almost died laughing at the Fai/Kurogane pool scene! XD

  • Lol what did he say though ___its a girl" thats all I heard. Woot!

  • If you mean in the beginning, he wrote on the chalkboard "Fay" and said, "That's a girls name"

  • thanks lol. I did sound girly

  • DX damn u CN!!!!! WE WANT OUR TSUBASA!!!!TSUBASA WILL RULE OVER NARUTO AND BLEACH ( no offence to my friends or naruto and bleach lovers) Dx BUT WE WILL HAVE OUR TSUBASA ON CN IF WE DONT!!....um....Dx I WILL KILL TO PROVE A POINT IN LIFE!!!

  • As far as I know. It was intended to be spelled "Fay." However since Fay was a girls name the English made it spelled "Fai."

  • The katakana for his name spell Fai, so that's how I write it. RED DAWN!!!

  • Uhh...His name is OFFICIALLY spelt Fay, according to CLAMP. It's pronounced Fe-i in English, yes, but Fay's not American, now, is he? ;P The spelling of someone's name isn't really a matter of opinion, especially if it was officially announced by the creator of that character...

  • So how is that name pronoced in Japanese?

  • @sunnyblossoms: Fay's name rhymes with "eye."

  • okay so its Fi I pronce it Fa

  • he is sooo awesome =]

  • *ignores paring commentary and manga spoilers*

"Half the world are girls!" It's true, Vic. Very true. But I love "boys" shows too.

  • really, just because there's not enough violence and blood is no reason to not put it up!! Cartoon network better put this up >.>

  • I would probably rip out my large intestine and hang myself with it if they put Tsubasa on CN. Seriously. With the low brain capacity it takes to wrap ones brain in the dumbed down plot of "Tsubasa Chronicle" it wouldn't take long for it to become like a second Naruto. The last thing we long time TRC fans is a shitload of fanbrats blabbing like they actually know what Tsubasa is. The anime is not an accurate portrayal of the TRC plot. It would be a disaster.

  • Agreed. The anime is bad enough as it is. The anime on CN? I think I would cry.

  • yeah, i heard about that reason. it's cool. cartoon network is gay. they don't have to buy it. also, not enough blood. lol, check out the OVA's!!! XD I want them!!!

  • Pft.

Not enough blood, if they want blood all they need to do is open the later chapters of the manga. xD

    SPOILERS!! --->

They should see Fai getting his eye ripped out and eaten, or Fai stabbing Sakura, or Kurogane severing his own arm to save Fai's life. Then we'll talk about "no blood". xDD

  • lol, so true CN can be really gay :(

  • I don't watch Tsubasa, so I'm saying this from a completely non-biased point of view:

Vic does not have to like KuroxFai. From what I've heard, this is not canon in the ANIME.

Vic is an ANIME voice actor, therefore he follows the anime. If it was obvious, Vic wouldn't deny it.

And he has a right to disagree with the pairing. How many of you here dislike at least one canon pairing?

Perhaps he's just getting those obsessed yaoi fangirls back ;)

  • Thank you! Seriously. It's getting annoying with everyone arguing back and forth.

Vic is entitled to his own opinion. Some people will agree, some won't. While KuroFai is pretty obvious, it has never been flat out said, "Hey, Kurogane and Fai are in love!" KuroTomoyo is just as canon.

  • Lawl.

KuroFai is canon as of chapters 166 and 167.

  • Yeah, he can have his own opinion about it, but he's saying that HIS opinion is the only correct one and that KuroFay could never be a pairing and that Fay is 100% straight. He can't say any of that is true because CLAMP never did.

Fangirls never attacked his opinion (lol...until now...) like he has to theirs. He continuouly calls the pairing wrong. Frankly, I find it really rude.

  • Wtf are you talking about?

  • Ugh.

And this type of thing is what makes me dislike Vic so much. Who the hell does he think he is? If CLAMP wants to spell their character's name in a certain way Vic has no place to even talk.

I hate Tsubasa Chronicle anyway, it was a terrible adaptation of the manga, Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. Now they bring it over here and give Vic of ALL people the role of Fai. Big mistake. Soon he's going to start denying that Kurogane and Fai have a romantic relationship. He needs a reality check.

  • LOL He's already made it very public that IN HIS OPINION, Fay is a healthy heterosexual with absolutely no romantic feeling towards Kurogane. Because in his world, opinion supersedes fact, apparently. Whatever, the anime sucks anyway, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, and while he goes ahead and ships Fay/Chii incest, we can all just point and laugh.

  • xD

    Lawl.

I am now officially in love with you. Someone else who actually sees what a load of hypocritical shit this man tries to shove down his fanbrats' throats every time he gets a new role.

Fai/Chii has always made me laugh, even before Chii was declared as a manifestation of Fai's MOTHER. Why? Because Chii already has her one and only and because Kurogane and Fai were destined for each other from the beginning. I know my CLAMP. <33

  • The man's a joke. He cannot comprehend that CLAMP fandom is not the FMA fandom, that canon gay characters DO exist, and that his thinly veiled homophobia will make him no new fans here. He refuses to read the manga, and yet he thinks that he knows the character better than the creators does? LOL.

Chii/Hideki is so cute, who would want to tear them apart? ;_; And whatever anyone says, Fay is not so lame that he needs to create his own date. Kuro/Fay is canon. It's that simple. :D

  • Exactly. Besides, if Kurogane or Fai happened to be a female I bet Vic would be slashing them without question. But oh no, just because they both happen to be male, it automatically makes it wrong. Psh. He and so many other people have such a warped idea of what love is. Gender is completely irrelevant to love and I think he needs to learn that.

HidekiChii has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and any decently educated CLAMP fan knows that CLAMP couples, once canon, are FOREVER.

  • Congrats, you're a homophobe!

    =D

  • You don't have to be one to agree with canon homosexual couples. But whatever, you can dislike them and Vic can dislike them but he cannot change canon no matter how much he bitches. I could give a fuck if he doesn't like homosexual couples or characters but he's being very arrogant, if he wants nothing to do with homosexuality in anime/manga then he should not have taken the role of a character who is in love with another character of the same gender.

  • =|

If he knows why the hell does he bitch so much about how Kurogane and Fai are simply NOT CANON. It's in the manga, black and white, plain as the nose on my face. CLAMP intended for Kurogane and Fai to develop a relationship and who is he [ or anyone else ] to try and disprove that they are in fact canon. I wouldn't be so mad if he just stopped bitching and trying to convince people that FaiChii and KuroTomo are canon.

  • It's not the end of the world. I never said it was, it just pisses me off when people like him, who have absolutely no say in the matter, totally disrespect and disregard the intent of the creators. You know when he said that thing about 'yaoi' being like scribbling on a masterpiece? Well, he's technically "scribbling on a masterpiece" by totally disrespecting the wishes of the people who wrote Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE in the first place.

  • okay, good for you, I've never seen them as Yaoi, but you do so we keep those views. However, I have to be up in a few hours for the most evil activity that I can think of (school) so I'll talk to you later if I don't decide to give up on this pathetic feud. (not your end. both ends are pathetic meaning mine two - but you kinda knew that so duh to me XD)

    have a nice night :)

  • I don't see them as Yaoi either. There is no Yaoi in TRC. xD I was making a point that it is hypocritical of Vic to think it is all right for him to go against canon. Look, I have been a TRC fans for FOUR YEARS. That's before the butchered anime ever came out. KuroFai and SyaoSaku are my favorite manga/anime couples of all time. They are both canon and both beautiful, and the intent of CLAMP. Vic should at least respect that.

  • (*too - sorry)

  • lol. but wat about kuroXtomo? i i was like wtf?! when i found out chii was a clone of fai's mother. that's ...scary. O_O but anyways, fai's...real name is Yuui so do you think Yuui is a girl's name? i don't care about the pairing i'm sure CLAMP will tell us soon.

  • Kurogane and Tomoyo love each other very much, but not in a romantic way. They are like siblings, they care for each other very much but not the way that Kurogane and Fai care for each other.

Besides, the Piffle arc is evidence enough that Tomoyo, no matter what body or world she is in, still loves Sakura like she did in CCS. KuroTomo is illogical and nothing but a great friendship.

  • Amazingly put.

  • Why thank you.

In the words of Ohkawa hereself: "Tomoyo's love for Sakura is what one could call 'Ultimate love' and it will stay that way."

    ^___^

  • don't get me wrong I LOVE vics work, but I think that he made a mistake in wanting to change the name. It's not like he came up with the story so why does he think that he has the right to change it! Also I HATE the english dub version of Tsubasa none of the vocie actors are right for there parts!!! The dub version makes th anime seem like a little kids show when the sub version is so deep...I don't know if it's just me but when ever I watch Tsubasa I WILL be watching the sub!

  • hey adult swim y don't you take out blood x and put tsubasa on for a change. :p

  • I'm sorry to say. I strongly disagree with you. Blood+ is an amazing show. If they were to put Tsubasa on air I would have to pray that they would air the original Japanese. I hate the english dub personally. On the other hand, in my opinion, Blood+ has a great dub and fits in perfectly. If they are going to take something off it should be something gay like Boondocks or ATHF. Just my opinion though.

    --Hyuu

  • yay! *kawaii laugh* Omg Fai's voice was probably the only one i enjoyed in Tsubasa..the Japanese one was...really high XDD But Vic's my favvie :3

  • He's good, but no one will ever be the true FAi...

  • No offence, but the dubbed version of Tsubasa Chronicles was horrible, especially Fay. (And Mokona too, poor little thing.) The guy up here seems nice, but he's no Fay -_-

  • As much as I love Vic, VA of Fai, I completely agree. He just isn't Fai.

  • I think he just need to get in touch with his happy side for voice acting.

  • I sorta understand now why Cartoon Network doesn't want Tasubasa. *stops sticking bird* Even though the anime is different, it has its downsides. Ohwell, I might aswell read the awsome manga :3 Then again...

  • "I have nothing against Bleach..."

    He voices Ikkaku... Right? .....

  • Right, Vic does the voice of Ikkaku.

  • ya and it suxs ballz! compared to japanese its ruined!

  • Anyway... there is a posibility of it being aired on Toonami because there isn't a lot of blood in the anime.

However, if FUNi gets the rights to the OVAs (coming out in about 3 months in Japan) then those are going to have to be put on adult swim.

  • "Fai" Was initially written as "Fye" since that how they spelt it in japanese (Hiragana alphabet)

    So NOT a girl name!

  • No, the official spelling of the name is FAY. A girl's name. Depending on where you live and what company is publishing the series in your area, it changes, but the official Japanese spelling is FAY. :/

  • I love Vic now! They need to put it on cartoon network! It is different and different is good!

  • It's not going to be put on Cartoon Network. :/ And yes, different is good, but Tsubasa isn't the best show to put on. There are other great shows that are better than the Tsubasa anime that should be put on CN instead.

  • *Sticks bird at CN* >:)

  • Oh, Vic, Vic, Vic.......... if you had actually read the translation of Tsubasa and the original, you would know that they spell it Fay because it's SPANISH pronunciation, making it "Fai."

And yes, they are not putting Tsubasa on Adult Swim? Wanna know why? It's not violent enough. The original station for Tsubasa was NHK, a family channel in Japan.

  • Spanish pronounciation? Where did they ever say that? :/

  • What's that thing he said after saying that Cartoon Network thought Tsubasa was a girl show? Everyone cheered so it must be a good thing!

  • Tsubasa should be on tv!!!

  • Just wait til the FaiKuro fangirls, Vic... Be prepared for more "miniskirt" lines! >:3

And now I'm gonna name my daughter Fayte, Fay for short!

  • Somehow I doubt that. The miniskirt line made sense with the RoyEd thing because of Roy's miniskirt rant in the actual series. If the KuroFai fans ask Vic for fanservice, it would make more sense for it to be relating to something within the actual series. Sort of like an inside joke. Personally, I'm pulling for the nickname, "Kuro-koi~~~! < 3"

  • I think it's a good thing cartoon network doesn't want to put it on. if they did it could turn into another naruto.

  • No, I don't really think it would... I thought if Cartoon Network got Tsubasa, it'd be on later at night like Bleach and FMA was. It seems they've been keeping the dub close to the original, so it really can't be changed for little kids now.

  • But I doubt that CN would put Tsubasa on late at night. Like Vic said, the show doesn't have a lot of blood and gore (not that that's a bad thing). But that is usually the reason a show gets put on Adult Swim.

  • Yeah, I understand what your saying and think the same thing... which makes it look like CN isn't going to air Tsubasa. Oh well, their loss.

  • i actually think they will. No bad words, no bloody action, and a great lovable anime. Maybe it wotn be right away though. Like you know how One Piece was on 4kids and moved to CN like a year later? Something around those boundary lines.

  • Ironically, Cartoon Network would put Tsubasa on the air for blood and gore and having blood and gore was what got it cancelled in Japan. Irony.

  • I thought it got cancled cause they strayed so far off the manga with the sucky fillers at the end of season two.

  • Technically speaking, they could have kept going with filler or tried to get back on track but what ultimately got it cancelled was that the NHK has a no alcohol, no violence policy and the later arcs of TRC were too violent. There is possibly an OVA in the making, though.

  • blood and gore? what? lmao. there is barely any blood in gore in the tsubasa anime. Go check out the manga, that is the best. The anime killed the series =p

  • I know there isn't any blood and gore in the anime but there is a whole hellova lot in the second half of the manga. The anime couldn't continue because the anime wasn't allowed to show violence but the violence of the manga tied into the plot, so it was either have never-ending fillers or cancel. And we all know which they chose.

  • no no, the anime got cancelled not just because of that reason, it also got cancelled because CLAMP cut off all tiees with Bee Train...because CLAMP thought the way the anime was made...was crap. Goes to show you how crummy the anime is XD. When you talk about fillers, what about 2nd season? 98% of that season are fillers.

  • But that's one of the main reasons CLAMP pulled the plug, they couldn't progress with the series properly because the manga was too violent to be aired on the NHK. But I agree, the anime was just... bad. Fai/Chii? Uh. No. Luckily, though, it appears there is an OVA in the making and Ohkawa is writing the script! *cheers*

  • haha yea that's why I say "not just"

oh about the OVA, I knew nothing about that =D oh you made my day~ =)

I pity yet laugh at all the future so called fans who will be obsessing over the tsubasa anime XD. It's funny...they'll go to an anime con, and then they'll see true fans dressed up as characters in post-tokyo forms...and they'll be like WTF?!

  • I think that a lot of people are only going to watch the anime because they love the VAs and won't even bother to read the manga. It'll be like Furuba, they won't listen when people explain why the anime was discontinued and they complain about it instead of just sucking it up and reading the manga, like real fans do. :/

  • YA I agree~ the sad thing is...in my opinion, the VAs aren't so great >_> *dodges thrown items*...overall I just believe that the japanese seiryuus are way better. I remember way back in the beginning, it actually took me a while to like them...but now I just adore them.

Too bad we won't ever hear them as the tsubasa gang. Unless Ohkawa-san decides to use the same seiryuus =D (you can tell I'm excited about the OVA, thanks to you!)

  • I think the VAs are good, they just don't suit the roles they were placed in. I liked Kurogane and Fai's seiyuus but honestly, I'm too used to CCS! Syaoran and Sakura's voices to really warm up to their new seiyuus. ...and Yukito. WHY NO MEGUMI IN TRC?! D=<

  • Yea in the beginning I was like O_o;; when I heard syaoran's & sakura's seiryuu. I was just used to CCS.

It was also hard cuz when I hear syaoran, I imagined daisuke from dnangel. When I heard fai, I imagined koyuki from BECK. Sakura, I love her voice & singing. I learned to love all of the seiryuus

I saw clips of the dub, the ONLY VA that I thought was good was yuuko's VA. That's it, period. Everyone else, the voices totally changed the characters' personas

  • I thought it was funny that Syaoran's VA was both Daisuke and Sora from Kingdom Hearts seeing as Sora travels through worlds and Daisuke had to collect Dark's memories, which were feathers. xD I grew accustomed to all... except Yukito. Megumi Ogata, come back~~~!

I really liked Yuuko's VA in English as well. She's the only one who really nailed it, I think.

  • I think they probably will bring the original seiyuus back, they have no reason not to. And honestly, we don't know for sure that it's an OVA but we do know more TRC anime is in the making and since we know it can't be more tv anime, that left OVAs and movies and most people are placing their bets on OVAs since that's the most reasonable option. ^^"

  • yeah!!

  • according to clamp its pronounced "FYE" rhyming wih eye

  • I always pronoucned Fai that way as well, even before I saw the anime or saw it spelt was "Fay" ...

  • Fai already looks sexy so with Vic's voice he'll be even more sexier whoooo!!!!!!!!! GO VIC!!!!

  • OH YEAH!!!*glomps fai happily*

  • Vic does Fai? *swoons* >w< I really hope Tsubasa does air on Cartoon Network. "Girl's show" my ass!! (but I'm a little sad that he's not gonna say, "Hyuu, hyuu~!") ^_^;;

  • Katakana is an alphabet for writing foreign words. Since the characters in each language are different, the spelling is going to be different. In Japanese it's spelled 「ファイ」. In English it's spelled "Fay," but it's /pronounced/ "fai." Fay isn't Japanese, so why should his name follow the rules of the Japanese language? And since when are English words always pronounced how they're spelled?

  • True, but because the name is pronounced like "fai" that's why they'd rather write it that way, BECAUSE people who don't KNOW BETTER might not know how to pronounce it... and it's true, normally, if the name is "Fay" and pronounced the way it looks, it's a girls name XD

  • So what if it's normally a girls' name? It's HIS name, isn't it? And you'd think that if, you know, it's spelled "Fay" everywhere and pronounced "fai" in the show, people might get a hint, especially since they'll probably hear it first. Or maybe I'm placing too much faith in the intelligence of the general populace?

  • Most of the confusion surrounding the spelling came from the English manga spelling it Fai because at the time they started publication the official spelling had yet to be released. Really, I don't think it matters if it's Fai or Fay because they are pronounced the same and technically both are right since they were in some version of the series.

Fye, however... still trying to figure out where that spelling came form. o.o

  • His name is spelled Fye sometimes because it is prounounced to rhyme with the word eye.

  • He's right about the name Fye thingy.

  • It is not a girl show! I'm so affended at that Cartoonnetwork. I'm a girl but everyone knows I'm a tomboy! I mean I bite my mom! Sure later on in the series Fai's eye gets ripped out with lots of blood! But I'm just like ,"cool... Blood" Stupid Cartoonnetwork. Sheesh! I wan't to email cartoonnetwork and say that I wan't Tsubasa! I mean its not girly. But... They do say Kurogan's name wrong. And Syaoran may sound sorta geekish but... Whatecer! People underestimate girls!

  • Well, you have to keep in mind that all the blood and gore of Acid Tokyo and beyond is manga only. The anime was cancelled and those story arcs were never animated. As such, the anime would be viewed as much more girly. If the anime had been allowed to keep going and the later arcs being very adult and very dark and... not so girly it might have made the cut to be put on Cartoon Network. And yes. Their pronounciation of Kurogane's name is most bothersome.

  • Tsubasa is a shounen series. :/ The hell? Only the first half of the show is even close to being girl, and then it's really just a crack series. Acid Tokyo and beyond is very dark, morbid, violent, and pretty much everything Cartoon Network would want. Fai and Fay would technically be pronounced the same way in Japanese so while it might not make sense to us non-Japanese people, it makes sense to them so why change it? Personally, I like to use Fai but only because I've been using it longer.

  • I'm very glad to hear this Vic's voice, finally! There's sooooo much talk about him as Fai's voice. Just listening to him, I think he could actually pull it off. Not as well as the Japanese voice, but still better than what they could've went with. >.O

  • Haha, Vic is great. xD So nice to his fans. But still, sorry I don't think he'll suit Fay. =[ But then, I haven't heard him as Fay yet. So I'll judge when I hear.

Cartoon Network suck. If Acid Tokyo is going to be animated by Mad House and then if Funimation dub that I'll laugh if Cartoon Network will want it THEN.

  • hi! that comment saying that I didn't think his voice would be good was actually me, not nikotehfox, sorry!

  • Am I the only person who doesn't think his voice would be good for Fai? Fai should have a softer, more (sorry) girly voice!! Fai is my favorite character in Tsubasa, and I really don't think Vic's voice would fit him very well!!

  • Same here.

And Vic.. well, he's pretty much again yaoi, etc. And he doesn't seem to accept that Kuro/Fay is pretty much canon.

  • Someone needs to print the translated manga and show it to him. Then he'll go "... oh" Even if I am a Ranger Fai/Kurogane is pretty canon so yeah....

  • If someone intends to do that, they should wait for a scene that just shoves in your face "it's a confession!".

But I'd love to see that reaction. xD

  • Well, we've got quite a few scenes to work with right about now. The transformation sequence, the feeding... the bitchslap. xD

  • The feeding? When was that?! I can't believe I missed that! The Bitch slap was beyond hysterical to me for some reason...

  • The feeding was pretty early on in Infinity. One of the first chapters in that story arc, I believe.

  • ..True, true.

The bitch slap might be the best scene in the whole manga. Well, next to when Mokona confessed love to Fay for Kurogane. <3

  • Pssh, Kurogane totally did it himself by accident. Mokona was just fronting for him. < 3

  • "next to when Mokona confessed love to Fay for Kurogane. <3"

WHAT CHAPTER WAS THAT GOOD SIR?

  • GOOD MA'AM TYVM.

... Uhh no idea tbh. It was the lake country where Mokona copied Kuroganes voice.

    >:]

  • FLANGLALABR THANK YOU. :'D

  • MINE TOO!! WHA-HOO (hyuu!!)

  • i have the dvd his voice fits well, but if you wanna hear the japenese there's one you can listen too with english subs

  • the japanese spelling is way better. "fay" is pronounced differently (f-ay : the ay sounds rhymes with hay). and it's a girl's name. fai is better. and it looks nicer than fay. xD

  • God, I hate the japanese spelling of "Fai". It. Makes. No. Sense.

I want to pimp slap CN right now. XD Thanks for the vid post.

  • When he quoted CN, "It's kind of a girl show," I said, "So?" (I was in the front row) and I'
