@Kramona They started seeing each other in late 1986. I think it was December of that year when Steve admitted he cared. They married in 1988 and were happy until Steve's ex, Marina Toscano, came to town in '89 to cause problems. Victor was making threats about Kayla's safety in order to force Steve to find some key, so Steve set up a fake kidnapping to fool Vic and keep Kayla safe. They're still at odds at this time, even though they love each other a lot.
