  • My question was: WHY ARE YOU OLD LADIES STILL OUTSIDE WHEN THERE'S NUCLEAR WAR GOING ON???!! --_--

  • @lemignonha They are picking their veggies so they can have food to eat while waiting to die of radiation poisoning, silly.

  • Today with all the PCs and Handies and so on some ICBM will be a catastrophe for all of us

.We musst turn back to the "old" Telephon (NOT Handy,Telephone with Lines of Power!) and "Morse".And the handwritten Massages..

It will be horror for us to live without the modern things we know since 25Years..

  • "i say a spot of fallout over southsea nothing to worry about old boy"

  • Look chaps, the Soviets have been positively beastly to us....we've been hit with a 200 megaton salvo, estimated fatalities 10-30 million initially, likely to rise to 25-40 million within the next fortnight because of that rotten old fallout...all major population centres have come a cropper, Blightly no longer has any electricity, sanitation or telecommunications and it looks like we'll have a nuclear winter. Jolly bad show all round. Still stiff uppper lip chaps, mustn't grumble, eh?

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Best comment evah. :-D

  • Interesting film. The only thing it does not show are the emotional reactions of the volunteer monitors. If there had been a real attack, I can't imagine the chaos that would really be taking place in these stations.

  • Fall out warning: I'll stop collecting me veggies and get back under the stairs!

  • The tidal wave that is leaking into the shelter is RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT. They should have been trying to get away from it, not trying to look at it.

  • 0:44- "Krauts"?

  • No, he said "France", lol!!

  • he said france..

  • Two megaton chap? Heigh-ho, London's been incinerated, let's have a cuppa, eh what?

  • I know; its so quaint isnt it? At 1.04 he says "only a little one, about 100 kilotons"lol! That is more than 5 times the power of the larger Nagasaki bomb. Hiroshima was 12 kilotons, the larger implosion plutonium bomb at Nagasaki was 20 kilotons. So "only" 5 times more destructive, lol!!

  • @columbusmozart "I'm afraid I've got one for yee, looks like it'll come your weeeeyyyy"

  • We were paid a fee for training & exercises & out of pocket expences connected with Operations.

  • did any of the people working in the UKWMO get paid or was it all straight volunteer work?
