  • who did all the work and how much did it cost? I'm looking at options for my 95 z while i'm deployed. Thought about doing a 383 lt1, heads/cam ls1 swap, but this maggie sounds sooo good

  • @willymywonka Ed at LMSpeed did most of the work, and I did quite a bit myself as well. Cost varies, and to be honeest i cannot remember what it ran me. Depending on how you build something like this it can be done anywhere from 4000 - 10000 easily. Depending on what parts you buy, and teh parts you buy to support it.

  • i thought they didnt make magnachargers for the ls1 engine?

  • @2001camarolover They have made the Magnacharger for the LS1 engine for some time, since 2003 if I recall correctly. They do not make a specific one for the F Body Camaro, you have to use either the Corvette Magnacharger or the GTO with modifications to the car. The Magnacharger has been availible for the LSX for a while. Check out thier website for more information. You will not find anything for a camaro but the Corvette, GTO, TBSS, SSR, Silverado Trucks have been around for a while.

  • The 2010 Camaros do have the TVS series magnachargers though. They jsut never made one specific for the 98-02 F Bodies. Usually when people ask about that on forums they always say they donot make it normally. I know of the MP112 that fits, rumor is they might have a TVS series one out before too long. Who knows though.

  • How much did this cost you? How much in parts, labor, and getting it dyno tuned. What else did you have to do to support 7 lbs of boost.

  • The only thing I did with the short block was add forged pistons. I only did that because the motor was worn out form nitrous use from the previous owners. Otherwise I would have left it stock. I bought it to be a project car. As for prices contact LM Speed in Indiana, or MTI in GA.

  • Thanks for responding :D. I'm selling my lt1 camaro to get an ls1. Then here comes the magnacharger ;)

  • im doing the same here bro its time to upgrade ;)

  • I knew I recognized that name. You're the reason I got true dual glasspacks. They sound great on my car. I had them dumped before the axle. Yea man I love my lt1 but ls1's are more reliable and they still look sexy as a camaro.

  • thanx man yea i love mine theyre so loud and mean wish i had a better quality camera o well haha and yea they still do look good haha u a member on any forums?

  • I'm not really a member of any forums. I'm about to take a video of my glasspacks. They're not 3" like yours but the 2.5 never scrapes (rare for camaro's)...I think for my ls1 that I'm still looking for I'm going to do longtubes running into an sts turbo setup. Quiet but with a loud turbocharger whistle.

  • yea man im lookin at a 98 z with a 12 bolt, lts, magnaflow catback, steel driveshaft for nitrous,315 zr1's and a bunch of suspension and built trans so since he used nitrous wat all would need to be replaced with forged parts besides pistons and did u sell ur maggie on ls1tech i was searchin post and saw ur vids

  • I only bored it .050 over and changed the pistons because we found the cylinders not to be true and I had problems sealing them. I was blowing boost through the rings and had oil issues. At this time, is when I scaled back my setup as well. I only lost 30HP the way we had it tuned so it was not a big deal to me. I just did not like it as loud as it was exhaust wise, it was my daily driver. Nitrous may not have been the cause, but it may not have helped either.

  • yea 30 hp isnt that bad how much did it cost u boring it out and for the parts pistons etc..? the ls1 should sound good with the exhaust it has i just wanna throw a maggie on it

  • Around 1800 +/- 100 or so. That was the machine work new bearings, rings and the mahle -2cc pistons. Cost depends alot on the machine shops in your area.

  • where did u get the bottom end? I have a LS6 block im gettiing honed since a couple of the cylinders arent true and the cheapest ive found was like 2200

  • Haha I bet Cobras will be jealous of that Twin Screw sound.

    nice ride.

  • It's not a Twin Screw, it's a Roots blower.

  • wow I love the whine of that maggie!!!

  • how come you are making less hp than before?

  • I detuned it and did the setup different. It was too loud for my taste. No other reason. I pulled the heads, added boost, changed the cam and put manifolds on. I lost 30 RWHP. Not much of a lose for everything I changed. It was more then enough for most people I ran into before I sold it.

  • reminds me of the cobras but better :)

  • SICK! Twin screw on a fbody!

  • sick, its for sure supercharger on mines.

  • Sick! I'm thinking about getting one of these for my 98 Z28! How much of a pain was it to install? Did you have to do any cutting?

  • Dunno to be honest. We could not keep traction on the dyno with the low end. Before I changed everything over I was making 528RWHP/526RWTQ at 7#'s of boost with 500 RWTQ at 3000 RPM's. But we changed a few things around went closer to a stock setup only we now push 10 lbs of boost instead of 7. The graph was lining up to look alot like the previou numbers. Myself, the tuner and a few other are thinking its around 500/500 at the rear. Will confirm when I address some suspension issues.

  • nice car, sounds like a cobra..how much rwhp ?
