In the last chamber of "The Return", ( the one where Glados says the designer won a nobel prize for) there is a hole near the top of the cieling, whitch if you climb into by using the portal/light walkway combination, you find a ratman's nest decorated with lots of mugs. Now, there is a developers commentary node there, but whenever I click it I get just a bunch of something that sounds like dial tone. Could you maybe get that on cam and upload it, I would like to know what is says.
@ArtypNk I beleive that the noise the commentary node produces can be decoded into an image. The original portal, after an update on the PC, had radios which produced a similar, high pitched noise. Fans of the game decoded the sound to produce a bunch of different images. It's hard to explain, so I would reccomend looking it up to see for yourself as it is pretty interesting. The reason I found this video was because I found the signal myself today and went to see if anybody had decoded it yet.
@ArtypNk I looked it up a little while after writing the comment. The text written on the images is basically describing why and how they implemeted the hidden messages that you could find in the first game, and what they meant. Each image decoded was essentially a clue, which ultimatly lead to the discovory of some concept art for Portal 2. So, basically, the hidden messages were an elaborate way for Valve to tease Portal 2 before it was officially announced.
@fizz142020: I have personally been the victim of other people's poor grammar too often to not know how bad it can get. Even if there's technically enough information in any given block of text, it can be a right pain trying to actually work it out if it isn't presented in a fairly standard way. So yeah, I'm a pretty big grammar crusader. That said, "they" is a perfectly acceptable word for gender-neutral pronouns.
@EricNinden fraps cant record @ 130fps and I could not lower the fps of the game to match fraps. and I could not get demos to work in the game for some reason. Its still audible.
2:07 Did Valve just...screw the rules?

@TheHylianGuard
Yes, you are correct. The noise is actually 3 images with a bunch of techo-babble.

I hate grammer police, Valve makes the game, so they can say "he" and "his" all they friggen want to

@fizz142020: Grammar is for making things easily understandable by minimizing the listener's cognitive load. It's important.

Do you have an Aperture brand computer? Why does the audio keep hitching up?

fps_max ?

@Silverson12 Just force vsync in the driver. If you own a standard TFT anything over 60fps doesn't make sense anyway.
