  • I've been waiting for this day, MY Entire Life! (bring on THE sequel!!!)Hopefully set in the MIRROR Universe!!!

  • @Relznir Check out my Star Trek sequel trailer set in the mirror universe. I am posting it as a video response to this video. Hope you enjoy it! Please comment!

  • @Relznir

you just made me realize something O_O

    mirror universe?

    HOLY CRAP

  • whens the sequel coming out?

  • If the build a starship on the ground (as seen at 0:28), does anyone know how they get it in orbit?

  • @workstrength I would think by the 23rd century they would have found a way to launch something even as big as the Enterprise. Roddenberry originally wanted the ship to land, but it would've been costly.

  • @workstrength I'm not sure but as spock would say "there are possibilities". Or maybe they used a couple of things called "thrusters" and "impulse engines".

  • @babylon218 perhaps... but for a major project like building a starship weghing thousands of tons, using untested and unused engines in their first major test to lift it into orbit... that seems a heck of a risk. I was just wondering if someone knew the dogma enough heard how this was done with plausible Trekkie technology. Somehow I wouldn't imagine the power of a thruster would be enough to offset gravity, considering thrusters were what they used to manoever from space dock.

  • @workstrength wake up, stop this reality-related shit, just enjoy the movie and the legend of ST...

  • The cool thing about this movie is that the reboot of the series made sense...with the back in time and changing the history timeline...

  • the trailers are always so much more epic then the actual movies

  • @BCBU2410124 That's so they will get you pumped up! But I was not dissappointed in this movie and I watched all the old Star Trek series and loved them--but I thought this was EPIC!

  • I loved it.. can't wait for the next one.......

  • this movie was epic- zachary quinto was excellent as spock XD

  • epic trailer!

  • It's hard to explain(i'll try)but lets not dwell on the details.

Old Spock comes from a time line where Nero doesn't exist until he's old and Vulcan is never threatened---basically where ST2009 never happens. Then he goes through that space thing with Nero into the past and changes Normal Spock's time line.

It's like you at 70 going back in time with your enemy and your enemy screws with people, so now the past is different. I'm not sure which time line is for TOS, but I personally don't care.

  • What really bothers me about this movie is that, (Spoilers btw), is that, How in the hell would Nero coming back would stop Romulas from getting destroyed? Even if there still is a chance of Spock becoming Ambassador, we'd still need to have Khan in the second movie and what not.=/

  • @Random1sabz

    (SPOILERS IN THIS)

    1) well , when Nero came back he could use the red matter and blow up the star which "in his own timeline" killed Romulas.........

    2) This means that the star NEVER went into supernover and it DID NOT blow up Romulas because Nero got rid of he star with red matter in THIS timeline....

    Hoped that helped, Erestor629...

  • @erestor629 Actually, I'm not sure about #2. In Quantum Mechanics even though an alternate universe is created, things often balance out. When we talk about an aternate universe that means two different universes. So even though Nero got rid of the star in the movie universe it still explodes in the original universe. And it HAS already destroyed Romulus (in the past - though in this universe it's more than 100 years in the future). This is way more complex.

  • LOL its running a lil fast... any1 else notice?

  • this is the PAL version, which is higher and faster then NTSC.

  • FIRE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dd31406 ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!! oh wait.....

  • I admit that the movie lacked in areas, though it still had the touch. This movie is also towards newer people also, though for the older fans it still has its moments mainly in references it makes. It's not all graphics and show.

  • @Ricky156 not been the biggest fan in the world and was kinda in two minds to see this. So glad I did, love it. Just got it on blu-ray and have been watching ever since.

Is there another one coming out with these guys???

  • @Ricky156 You know what most of the old fanboys liked? As opposed to casual, "I've kissed a girl before" fans, the fanboys liked the cheese. Abrams melted that, trimmed the fat and left a good story with nice pacing and sharp effects. I could have been better, but it was the most watchable film since First Contact.

  • @Ricky156 So, "newer" people are drawn to a confusing story line, exaggerated special effects and rough cinematography? Well, that's okay. If that's what "newer" people like, then why don't these "newer" people come up with something original that they can call their own? This film did NOT have the "touch." There's a reason why Star Trek's popularity has lasted over 40 years. This film did not have any of it's magic.

  • Does anyone know what the music is from? I recognise it from another film!

  • about a month ago, someone told me that it was music that they use only for trailers and commercials. as to wear to find it, I can't say, but its worth the look

  • The music is by a group called Two Steps from Hell. Google and you can get the site.

Unfortunatly you are right, they only produce music for companies planning to use it for theatrical value. However they've updated and now say that they might start releasing tracks to the public!

  • well, in that case, I can't wait!

  • Two Steps From Hell- Freedom Fighters. They only do trailer music, not actual soundtracks.

  • the music is called "Freedom Fighters" by Two Steps From Hell, they compose music for trailers and movies

  • I like how he threw in the orbital skydiving. Shatner's books always indicated that this was a passtime of kirk.

  • i see the point to this..the primary antagonist of this film comes from the future nd goes to the past where it all started...also the old Spock will be in this also coming from the future..so this film isnt only starting over but it is still a sequel

  • awesome.

  • kick...ASS!!!!!!! (enough said)

  • dosent this look like a little to futuristic to be star trek 0 ??? its more advansed than the original series ship..... Lets hope they explain that in the story..

  • They just updated the set, they're not going to have an in-universe explanation. No one besides Trekkies would even consider seeing a movie with some cheesy-ass 60's set.

  • I agree with what your saying but whats wrong with making it look dated. that just adds character. I wouldn't hurt the movie in fact i think it would make the directors rely less on the fancy CG and more on the acting and story. But I do agree with you. Times they are changing.

  • TOS was made in the 60s. This is the 21st century. They aren't going to make a movie using 60's quality when they can do much better.

  • I have trouble with this too but try not to think of it as a bad thing. it's just better cinematography and special effects for the day. I had the same problem with the Rocky movie that came out it was too real to be rocky.

  • this trailer kicks ass

  • Lets hope its FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!

  • This movie will either make or break the franchise... i hope it lives up to its expectations.

  • At this point, I think we're beyond whether this will "make or break" the franchise. It's pretty clear that this will far exceed the franchise. In fact, it will greatly expand the fanbase.

  • Lets hope so

  • OH by the way.

for those who are wondering the artist or name of the song

    its by

    -Two Steps from Hell

    tracks called

    -Freedom Fighters

  • thanks ^_^

  • what i really love is how they are making this movie not just for the rebirth of the franchise, but for people like me, the broader audience. this movie has a new spin and taste for the younger crowd. who would of thought, me who would think the show is lame find myself so indulged in a franchise i never thought id see good, i cant wait for its release, and im sure it will rank upon the best films in years

  • Just read the Countdown comics. Bondfreaks argumenting about the motive is wrong. Nero went back, but not to kill Kirk before he became a hero. He comes back to take revenge on the federation, because they didn't help his homeworld in future and he lost all he love. Terminator was an original Bad vs. Good story. The evil try to prevent the good of winning a war. Nero isn't evil, the federation will never fought him, he just give them the responsible of the destruction of his life.

  • The motive is revenge, the use is time travel, thats not Terminator.

  • Im 28 yrs old and have always always hated Star Trek. But damn this movie looks sooooooo kiiiccccccccckkkkkkkkkk asssssssssss. This movie might do to star trek what batman begins did for the batman franchise.

  • Im tired of explaining to you young people. So this is the last time. Do not respond.

Time Travel and War are not the issue of my saying its a remake. It is the reason FOR the time traveling. The Terminator went back in time to kill a hero BEFORE he became a Hero.

The Romulan goes back in time for the same reason. The Heroes Closest relative goes back to stop the Terminator. The heroes best friend Goes back to stop the Romulan. Same Story Different Title.

If you still dont get it To bad.

  • Uh-oh, I responded.

What's the big-bad "WAY older" keyboard warrior gonna do?

SiFi (commonly abreviated with a "c" in there somewhere) Historian? The study of the future from behind? Seriously?

    Liberal Arts major, right?

  • It's Sci-Fi (to show where the C is lol).

  • i see nothing that shows spock time traveling yet

so maybe it isn't quite the same. besides, i like a new twist on an old story. i can go for another one that might be campy....Knight Rider was just Paladin from "have Gun will travel" look at both shows you will see lol

  • Du dumb dumb dumb. Du dumb dumb dumb. "There is no fate but what we make" "I'll Be Back"

Like it or not it is the truth. The plot is Stolen From THE TERMINATOR

  • Oh? Time travelling? The Terminator plot is stolen by back to the future then ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • So, Marty McFly went back in time to stop a Robot from killing his father?

The motive Behind Time Travel. Are Dumb or what?

Did you even see the Terminator?

  • no dumbass... but H. G. Wells wrote the time machine... the first tale about time traveling...... even terminator is based in that book... every tale of time traveling is based in that book... just like every UFO movie is based in the war of the worlds!!!

  • Fist off. Where do you get off of calling a complete stranger Dumb-ass!

Second the concept of time travel and invaders from space goes way back even before H.G. Wells wrote about them.

What you dont get is the diffrent motives behind time travel.

  • In early Time Travel stories it was about exploration. Then Consequences of trying to improve history. The Terminator was different The motive was to win a war not yet waged by killing the hero before he was a hero. No one else came up with that concept. But lots of low budget film makers stole it, through out the late 80s and early 90s. Star Trek was above that. In till now. Now do you under stand?

  • So now every movie that uses war and time travel as a theme is biting off of Terminator? That's a rather weak argument. They're all the same stories when you strip the special effects and settings. Even Star Wars heavily borrowed from ancient mythological tales. There was nothing new about the themes. It was just Hercules and Persius in space. But if you let stupid shit like that get to you then you'll never enjoy anything. Just chill out and enjoy the show already.

  • BOY did you see TERMINATOR? No I don't think so. If you did you would see what I mean.

  • he got served!

  • I found out what the plot is. A villain from the future goes back in time to kill Kirk in order to stop him from saving the future. Spock follows to stop him. Ok. Replace the word villain with Robot. The name Spock with Kyle Rees and Kirk with Sara Conner what do you get?

    Any one?

    Any one?

    Any one?

  • Name a story line that has not been copied again and again. the idea of bad guys going back in time to stop good guy is way older than terminator. in fact almost all movies now days are simply rehashed plot lines. what do want, thats just american movie making, new things scare people.

  • There are no new stories. Every story you thought was new was based on older tales, and those were based on yet older myths and legends. Human beings are quite complex, but we're not *that* complex. There are only so many ways to express every aspect of what it is to be human, and they were exausted a long time ago. All we can do now is present the same tellings of the human experience for modern audiences. But hey, atleast CGI makes the unoriginality more bearable. :)

  • Loosely based off older tails. Most people give them credit. Batman is Sherlock Homes and Zorro. Zorro Robin Hood. Look up the references on those characters and the credits are there.

There is plenty of new Ideas out there even ones that are loosely based on old stories. People just half to try harder. At lest don't make it so blatantly obvious.

  • Your twenty five, Right? So tell me How could you possibly know that People Rescuing people in time. is older then Terminator. when you werent even born when it came out? I'm WAY older then you, and I'm a SiFi historian. New things do not scare regular people. New things Scare business People.

  • lol is that an actual job or title? SiFi Historian?

and yeah nothing new, but it looks good (better then the other movies) ill just watch it online some time.

    ps: terminator 3 sucked

ps2: any good scifi title you got for me?

  • I just checked with my sources. 2001: A Space Odyssey and The One, are the only ones on the list I gave you that are based on books. Each book was written 1-8 years before the movies were made. The others there books are based on the movies.

  • Finally Star Trek done the way it should be.

  • whats that for a song in the background???

  • yeah what is that?

  • looks awesome cant wait

  • If this is a reboot then how come they got Nemoy to play old Spock?

This is a crap-y prequel to TOS and sequel to ST-Enterprise

  • Its a split timeline.

  • Transformers starring Captian Kirk and A hot temperd version of Spock. EEEEEsh.

    Talk about trash pluss ten.

  • yeah and every james bond movie aside from the last 2 were good ?

    rriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

  • Comparing Bond to Star Trek. Hum....?

Oh! I get it. Your comparing carrots to chocolate

  • The Star Trek movie has been terrible except for one movie, Nemesis. Obviously if you single out Nemesis as 1 of the lower quality movies in it, you don't have taste.

  • If you think Nemesis is the best one then you sir have no taste, go watch Wrath of Khan and First Contact,

  • At last! Star trek has recovered from the nemesis and is alive and kicking! this is going to be my next favourite film!

  • I think this might be good

  • Really cool.. thanks for the tip..

I had almost given up on these people.. and here we are .. the story starts all over again.. :o)

  • this looks almost as awesome as lost in space -__-

  • Im in no way a star trek fan but this looks fucking savage..

  • You can understand the whole story of this new movie when the Romulan says "James T. Kirk was a great man but that was in another life!!!". This thing is incredible !!!

  • since the star trek series and movies have been down for years now, this new interpretation might be a way to get the franchise back up again with a bigger audience than just trekkies, i kind of think it's more of a reboot like they did in james bond and batman they definitely play the roles differently than the past actors did and better so i don't mind this version of star trek.

  • I reall want to see this but sadly, im no trek fan, i dont know anything about Trek. so its 70% sure i might not see it.

  • this is a retelling of the story, so you can see it.

  • The movie is not made alone for fans, thats why they start at a beginning, nobody needs to know anything about Star Trek for understanding.

  • DO WANT

  • looks really cool, not a trek fan but this is on my "to see" list

  • Don't they normally assemble those ships in orbit instead of on the ground?

  • Freaking Sweet!!!

  • Actually Han Solo sexes up the ladies as well :)

  • People wanting to be Starfleet officers don't "enlist" in Starfleet.

  • Comment removed

  • They do.

  • Not if they want to be officers, hence "Starfleet officers."

    Enlisted personnel "enlist," not officers.

  • STFU nerd.

  • "STFU nerd"

First, it's military knowledge, not nerd knowledge, moron.

And second, you're calling someone a nerd for posting a message on a Star Trek trailer video, THE SAME ONE YOU'RE POSTING MESSAGES ON, you idiot nerd!!!

So kindly go fuck yourself, hypocrite.

  • "First, it's military knowledge, not nerd knowledge, moron."

I just looked up the word "Enlist," it is defined as "To join the military."

  • "I just looked up the word "Enlist," it is defined as "To join the military." "

I didn't say it didn't mean that. I'm saying officer candidates don't enlist, elisted personnel enlist. Officer candidates earn a commission in the military, they don't "enlist."

What other definitions did your research show? Did it address the differences between officers and enlisted personnel? Probably not. But I am.

  • at 0:56, this is how a planet supposed to implode...not by an explosion like in Star Wars movies...

  • is this supposed to be a remake??or a new ..."sequel" ??? someone please answer.thanks

  • Both

  • Actually, I hear it's a "prequel", chronicling Kirk's days at the academy.

  • This trailer turned this movie into a "I'll see at some point" to a "Going to see opening night"

  • Is that a planet being destroyed in one of the scenes?

  • Romulus

  • haha random but funny

  • only 2 words.......STAR TREK.....forever.....always.....beautiful.......the only series on the history

  • I can't wait for this film!! the excitement is overwhelming. yeeee Haaaaaaaaw!

  • BADASS!!!

  • Kirk is such a badass.

  • Freedom Fighters, Two Steps From Hell, I just dl/ed it on Demonoid.

  • TNG didn't get good until season 3 when Roddenbery died - they tossed out the hippie stuff and actually made a decent show.

  • Its true. He was onto a winning idea but it required other people to execute.

HOWEVER, the bloke who was in charge after he died - forget his name - made it a bit too boring.

The clear mix of Roddenburys ideas and his succesors from Seasons 3-6 of TNG was a winning formulae.

I cant help but feel it began to slip in Season 7 into vaguely "Voyagerish" storylines: boring ones. I am glad they killed it when they did.

  • I loved TNG but DS9 was WAY better, Voyager however was just too bland at times and dont even egt me started on Enterprise. I think of the main problems I had with Voyager was its exclusively American cast, I think Star Trek should always have a mix of actors from around the world, there should always be a British character on the Enterprise. :D

  • I really hated DS9. I hated it. Bland - although well developed - characters that were hard to like, it didnt go anywhere so there was a scarcity of exploration, and the nail in the coffin was the whole religious storyline.

Without turning this into a religious debate, I feel religion has NO place in Sci-fi.

Mainly DS9 was everything that TNG wasn't and vica versa. If you liked one, chances are you didnt like the other.

Agreed on Voyager. Just a really boring show all round.

  • I mean; the space station didnt go anywhere.

I didnt care about the Marqui, didnt care about the Cardasians, didnt care about Siskos "prophet" storyline. I didnt like ANY of the charatcers. It did not work for me on any level and sadly I watched every episode because any trek is better than none...

  • Fair enough but you just listed all the things I liked about it. XD

  • AGreed :)

  • Isn't this the music from one of the Dark Knight trailers?

  • NO.

  • What's the name of the song please ???

  • Freedom Fighters-Two Steps from Hell

  • Seriously scroll down and read a few of the comments. I answered this 6 times on this video in 2 days. Go on my channel and watch my favourited videos, its one of the newest 6.

  • Same as hapajedi:

Does anybody knows what music is this or where it came from?

  • Go on my page; its one of the newest favourites - its made by a company who specialising in writing trailer music; its not music from the actual film.

  • thanks buddy i got it, much mahalo(thank you in hawaiian)

  • Anyone know what the music is in the trailer? or is it from the film itself?

  • Its not from the film; its generic trailer music film makers buy to use in trailers before the film music is done. Go on my page; its one of the newest favourites.

  • People who are complaining about this being "Non cannonical" and the ship being built on Earth:

FOR FUCK SAKE. THIS IS CLEARLY NOT MEANT TO TAKE PLACE IN THE SAME TIMELINE AS THE TV SHOWS!!!!

Just accept they have rebooted it. Call it (another) alternative universe if that helps you deal with it and allows you to accept this for what it is without trying to reconcile it with previous Star Trek works.

  • Comment removed

  • anybody else get chills at 1:05 to 1:10?

  • of course we do!! This is fracking good ! ^^

  • no, not really. why'd you get the chills?

  • I think this is the best trailer so far

  • QUESTION: Have any of you STAR TREK fans seen this film yet? Doubtful! But when it opens we'll have all questions and concerns answered. I'ts good to know the show i've loved for forty years(nearly) can still stimulate good strong debates and passionate defence from it's fans after all this time. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

  • I CAN'T WAIT! STAR TREK IS BACK! I don't care what haters think. Its Star Trek. It had some of the most diverse characters, each with their own history that made us just like the show even more.

  • Yeah, I agree. Looks like it could be a really good movie.

  • You have to admit all the Star Trek movies and shows were good. Some were better than others, true, but I enjoyed every one of them... Even Nemesis!

  • Nemesis was the best of the next generation. come on.

  • Don't get me wrong... I loved Nemesis. Unfortunately, not many others did :(

  • I liked Nemesis but I think First Contact was the best TNG movie. Heh, could be interesting if they do a reboot movie for TNG in a few years. :D

  • I seriously thing TNG could not be "rebooted"; there isnt much to improve in it.

If I can think of anything I would NOT want to happen, a TNG reboot is one them.

Original series? Fine. It's ancient and outdated.

  • Alternate timeline TNG? :D

  • TNG doesnt need to be improved or updated though. What could they do better than TNG did?

  • I disagree. I'd never watched the TNG. Last year, I *tried* to watch TNG from episode one... it was awful. TNG looked so outdated, and the pacing was awfully slow, and some parts just seemed silly and naive for today's sophisticated viewers.

  • Just watch it from season 3 onwards.

  • I went into that movie not knowing Data was gonna die, I was so sad when my favourite TNG character died. :(

  • oh my gosh! Data DIES?! i didn't know that!!! he was my favorite in TNG!!! aw, man, that sucks!!! which Star Trek movie are you talking about? i haven't seen it and i want to know which one it is so i CAN see it!

  • Data dies in Star trek Nemesis! (or Start trek 10 if you prefer)

  • uh!! that SUCKS!!!

  • Deep Space Nine and Voyager were pish.

  • all: music is from two steps from hell, track is called "freedom fighters"

  • If this is non-canon; I love it. It it is canon; Booh!(to many mistakes)

  • If someone needs the music from the trailer, message me

  • where can I find the soundtrack in this video?

    I love it.
