Ok, heres my idea, a battlefront style rts where you switch from shooter to rts on command, can switch weapons, control any of the units, play as odst, spartans, master chief, the arbiter, or the prophet, maybe even flood on command, allowing you to pick up weapons for any unit, and battle on many planets across the universe including halos, reach, and earth, possibly even with xbox live gameplay. just an idea, never gunna be made :(

The only thing is that those games don't really need much strategy unless you are on a hard difficulty and still, not much strategy or thought is needed. This is a fun CONSOLE RTS, not on par with a PC RTS what so ever, but it's a fun game to pick up and play for a console, versus the C&C series which is much more in detail but Halo Wars is a great little game and now it goes for like $20 brand new with the DLC at most retail stores so it's worth it for sure!

I picked this up when it first came out and just re-picked it up today and still enjoy it!

its a good game in my opinion, but it does get boring after a few days. kind of sucks that you dont get to play as flood, and its kind of an avp extinction in a halo world. If you want a good console strategy. get a mic together and buy tom clancys endwar.

Originally Halo was going to be open world (well, orginally it was going to be Myth but with a SciFi faceplate) but Bungie faced too many woes and the project was refined to more linear gameplay. The most open-world gameplay you'll get from Halo is the original Halo CE mission 2 which is really just linear gameplay with some variance in which order you complete objectives (though each objective is the same and the order has no effect on anything).

@Bankai1484 Seeing as the rest of the Halo series (and the whole Halo fanbase) is on the xbox and this is very lacking compared to anything on the they wouldn't sell many games on the PC.

This game was designed to be a console RTS. They took out lots of the features that even an old game like Starcraft (the first one) had so it's playable on a pad. Putting it on the PC would defeat the object completely.

I could understand if this was Halo 3 or Halo Reach as people may want to get into one of the most popular games ever after seeing videos or playing at a friends house, but the only reason to play this over any other RTS is that you're already into the Halo series or don't have a PC in my opinion.
