  • I saw this tour tiwce but don't remember the crowd being this excited about this song and this was in Philly. Still, this is one of my favorites from BG.

  • He's a weird motherfucker but this is a WIN for pure AWESOME.

  • I like how they stripped it down to just Jon's vocal, an acoustic guitar, and a synth counter-melody. I love Big Generator. Some Yes fans hate it. The critics hated it. Ask me if I care. It will always remind me of the simpler times of my youth. Songs like, "I'm Running," "Love Will Find A Way," "Final Eyes," and "Shoot High Aim Low" are among the best Yes songs in my opinion. Thanks for posting!

  • Even though the poor sound quality I like this version even better than the studio recording. First time I see vids of the Big generator tour...AWESOME !!!

  • Jon has the voice of an Angel...his music has gotten me through some very hard times....

  • This is one of my good songs that I love to sing to.As a mystic I can relate to it on high levels of the astral planes. Great job Jon111

  • Dios Te Guarde Siempre JON

  • This song is yet another example of what Jon's composition/writing is capable of. If you consider all the music he has either been the primary or secondary writer of, no one can deny he has a very special gift. His music has moved me to tears.

  • was there for this tour met squire in a small hole in the wall pub here in Ohio. awesome show and night.

  • Listen to the words...Jon's vision shines thru very clearly...20+ years after he wrote this song.

  • Seems this was a professionally recorded video. wonder what the venue and date was... wonder where the tapes are now residing.

  • @marmas58ink You and me both. This tour was outstanding in its own way, and I hope it will be made available to us on DVD at some point.

  • Can any one tell me who is the "Holy Lamb" is that he's singing about?

  • Jon is a student of many religions, and obviously very spiritual. Knowing that along with his past discussions on the subject, I think he'd tell us that it refers to a higher power that resides inside of us - the power of the universe that surrounds us that we only we can awaken and make a reality. Nature. We are all a part of Nature. On the studio version, he says "All the Magic of the earth and the sky". Here he says "Mysteries" - the unrelenting power of Nature within us that we are a part of

  • @ChrisBoylan Beautifully put, Chris.

  • This is truly one of Jon's greatest moments. His aura spreads throughout the music and the audience. How is is possible that Yes is not in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame?

    Thanks Jon.

  • I love that band and that song. That strange microphone cable make it look like Jon Anderson is on the phone though... lol

  • Way better than the version from Big Generator. This is absolutely divine.

  • ah, Harmonic Convergence...

  • thanks for the upload. i'm glad this footage wasn't lost and can show that they were great on this tour, as much as this era is disparaged.

  • This song and the performance are STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!

  • Indeed. Seems Jon was in fine voice this night.

  • Witness the power of a great and truly inspirational melody/song. He quieted the crowd down with that power. Truly amazing band.

  • Rick Wakeman wants his cape back!!!!

  • LOL!

  • pure YES.

  • This is awesome. I have been a lifelong Yes fan, I never saw them in concert as much as I would have liked. However I did see them perform this song during their Big Generator tour here in the Northeast it was great. Jon Anderson is a genius he has an amazing way of articualting complex human thoughts pertaining to our existence here on earth and putting them into song.

Thanks for posting this classic !

  • Deep in the mediocrity of the Rabin intermezzo, Jon sent this clear signal that true YES was still alive: such a lovely song.

  • Beautiful, but I kind of wish they'd let Rabin rock at the end like it does on the album. I always felt this was the YesWest version of "Soon".

  • I would say that the final part of "Endless Dream" is the "Soon" of YesWest.

  • Wow!! so many years have gone and this song still makes me feel so good!!!a loong long glorious way!!!

  • I haven't heard this song in years. I thought about it when looking for versions of Ave Maria and I wondered if Jon Anderson had one.

It was truly emotional to hear this song again, I forgot what a gorgeous song it is.

A gem hidden in the industrial pile of pop songs.

I truly don't understand how Jon Anderson has been taken for granted while someone like Robert Plant and Roger Waters have been so praised.

Is there supposed to be a limit on the recognition of "progressive rock" talent???

  • he never misses a note. amazing to do what he does live

  • This was one of the high points for me as well when I saw the BG tour in Omaha, 11/87. For some strange reason, I hear a number of Yes fans diss this song, & I have no idea why. It may not be a "Yes classic," but that doesn't make it any less beautiful.

Jon...be well ASAP. If you can come back to us without endangering your health, do so. If your body says "no," then know you will be retiring with the love, adulation & admiration of millions & millions of loyal fans.

  • I agree. Holy Lamb was always a magical point of the concerts. An aura came over Jon when he sang it.

  • This song propagates two major flaws;

    It's not long enough

Yes never did do it justice in concert

    Otherwise, it is superb.

  • @Kwinquark1 While I respect your opinion on this, I can't quite connect with it. A song's particular duration shouldn't really be a point of judgment on whether it's good or bad; granted, I wish songs like Mood For a Day and Lightning Strikes were longer, too, but that doesn't make them less valid as compositions. And, I don't know if you saw Yes perform this live, but in Omaha, we rose to our feet at its conclusion. This clip, if anything, doesn't do it real justice...but I'm glad it exists.

  • Thank you for posting this. A wonderful song! I have many fond memories of the Yes shows from the eighties. I only wish I was old enough to see them in the seventies.

  • Love it...

    From Philly?

  • Sheesh! Kaye butchers the solo in the middle of this. Its still great to hear that live. Great tune.

  • Yes!! Thanks I am greatly moved by this tune!

High Above! Inspired! Put all the best intentions into one song! Respect!, Taki

  • LIFE It doesn't get better than this. I will arrange for it to be played at my funeral.

  • This is beautiful. Jon Caressed this song magically. Thanks for this :D

  • Jon said, "This song is from the seven sisters in the sky" (the pleiades star system). The song Hurry Home off of In the City of Angels is perhaps also from the same source. If that's not far out I don't know what is!

  • I saw Jon perfom this on the Generator tour, except he was playing the acoustic guitar part himself - it was a brilliant performance.

  • One of my absolute favorites. Thanks so much for this, and to all who post this stuff none of us else have. I could sit here all day and listen and collect. Perfect, 5 stars!

  • Wish I was there!

  • LOve this song, love thiis band.

  • Very rare performance indeed. Thank you so much

  • What an AMAZING performance - so rare, so wonderful. A fine Jon Anderson moment!
