@TheTboss77 Although I'm sure the jet is faster, using the listed max speed for an F18 it would take around 2 hours and 30 minutes to travel from LA to Virginia. The SR71 holds the current record at 64 minutes.

@beergut111 Well, you can google things posted by other retired USAF... The Blackbird performs poorly in lower speeds. It also could only break the sound barrier by diving a little. The SR never had, not even closely, fighter performance. I wasn't designed to.

@1987maxbedford supersonic is 1,100 ft per second, you can still see the plane at that speed. It's not like looking at a rifle bullet.
