It's not the same, but as a fan for the 30 odd years and having seen the 3 survivors in Dudley a couple of yrs ago on the 1st tour for yrs when they did such a fantastic job without bringing in a replacement vocalist, I was a little worried how Mike's vocal would be received. At the O2 in Brum early 2011 the iconic, soul enlivening sound of the band was still magnificent. Looking forward to 17.02.12 at the O2 Brum again :-)

I'm surprised at you Bruce, letting that faggot immitate Stuart. I think I would have bent my guitar over his head, he's fuckin' pish. There's only 1 Big Country!!!
Consider this. Passion is rare within the music industry these days, just the dollar. Two most underrated bands were these (The Alarm and Big Country). What did we get? F***ing U2, in my opinion anyway.
Wow, what a great tribute to Stuart Adamson and Big Country by The Alarm. It's too bad that Dave Sharp's guitar-playing isn't more prominent here because it would have been nice to see him play co-lead guitar with Bruce Watson, but still, this is a great moment.
Mike is such an incredible performer, and he gives great tribute to his friend Stu Adamson. Big County helped get the Alarm started out in the early days, and Mike always recognizes this. Anyway, incredible performance!

What a great dedication. I saw Big Country play with Simple Minds, The Alarm & U2 at the same gig in 83-84 probably the best line up you will ever get anywhere in the world. Music will never be the same again! Mike Peters is another underated singer songwiter just like Stuart was and he sings this song very well.
Mike Peters of the Alarm - obviously at his own gig (Poppy backdrop!) and enjoying a moment ! A worthy singer for this song ! For me the only man who could ever attempt to sing Stuarts songs ! Go Pete go - keep both bands going ! GREAT musicians Welsh & Scottish !
I was there. I have encountered those that were not. They wax lyrical about a certain group, u2 they say. I respond. The Alarm and Big Country. I never get a proper answer.
This is a wonderful tribute to Stuart especially being done by the Alarm and Bruce stepping in for lead guitar. Many of us Americans have a fierce Scottish heritage and are fully behind the Scot's bid for independence. RIP Stuart. Your message has been heard.
hmmmm very doubtful about americans mixing into United Kingdom matters. Look for YouTube video of Bush/U2 :) hilarious ! Even in the early 80's BC, Alarm & U2 all protested in their music and also about former citizens that live across the pond ! In my opinion you are 2-faced w*nkers !
Stuart was a straight ahead guy - proud to be scottish - he got sucked into the other side of the pond and that is where he left us. What do you have to say about that ? RIP Stuart
Not quite sure what you're implying there. I doubt you can blame living in the US as his ultimate undoing. The man had demons and a bitch of a second wife, so I read.
I agree that Mike Peters is the best man for this job. He and Stuart were great mates and both fine upstanding men. I think Mike feels guilty for not being there for Stu. I've never read that anywhere so I'm just going on intuition here. Miss you Stuart!
mike peters class act...i was big alarm fan in the late 80's. went to rhyl on holiday and went round his house in Dyserth. the guy wa sin his shorts mowing the lawn and posed for pix and autographs...should have been a bigger start but his music will rank up there with the dublin boys.
I like this version but nobody will ever sing it like Stu, He could sing any song and you would instantly know it was him...
R.I.P. Stu, you made a huge impact on my life
