did you do anything special to make it 1080p? i uploaded a 1920x1080 video at 15,000 kbps and its only showing the regular hd button, i just posted it do i have to wait for it to update to 1080p or is 1080p broken for some users
@Acer0c It is probably already 1080p, if you uploaded a 1080p video, it will on show the HD button when your logged in because it does it in full HD automatically. So you're viewing it 1080p already. If you wanna see the 1080p button, log out and then watch it.
Hmm, for fun I might try uploading a 1080p vid as a test, but i don't think it will be my primary upload format as alot of people still don't have fast enough internet and it would just result in laggier video. Good upgrade tho. I would just prefer my videos playing optimally on most computers while still looking decent.
the newest beta drivers and beta flashplayer have GPU support for nvidia graphic processors. install it and you can run Full HD flash videos on computers with a weak CPU.
I've had no issues uploading WMV to youtube in HD 720, havn't tried 1080p yet, but all my videos I've uploaded have always been flawless, load fast, and arn't unsynced like some .mov/.avi uploads I've done.
i assume that youtube understood that some people still have old computers wich can't play 1080 yet - some people have old computers wich causes the 1080p videos to lag for them wich is why youtube has added the option to play 720p
thats the only logical option i can think of - becose thats most likely why they did that
This video is originally 720p I stretched it to be 1080p so people can test the code. The code is not needed now, but anyway 1080p has more pixels 1080 Pixels, 720p has less obviously 720 Pixels
@salsabil18 It is actually common for raising resolutions to actually make the quality appear worse, it all has to do with how the video was originally captured and uploaded. If it wasn't captured and uploaded in 1080p, then watching the video in 1080p will just "stretch" the picture, causing a worse appearance in quality.
I do mention it in the description if you would look, I recorded at 720 I just wanted you to test the 1080p(&fmt=37) on this video just as a test. It stretches because it is only 720.
Unrelated, but you may want to credit Kevin MacLeod from incompetech for the awesome intro music

wow. I just did the &fmt=37 "magic" trick and it only made it 460p - wait. Do you need to upload it HD too?

yes it has to be hd, obviously, you can't magically transform 480p into 1080p

So, if this video works on my computer, then its my monitor is 1080p high definition?
TheMoeStudio 2 years ago
No, it works on any PC, but is only "EFFECTIVE" if you have a 1080p Monitor, i.e a 1920 x 1080 resolution
PCProKids7 2 years ago
my monitor is 1280x800, does that mean its 720p?
TheMoeStudio 2 years ago
@TheMoeStudio Well 720p is 1280 x 720 so yeah, you can view full 720p

720p is choppy and unwatchable.... what makes them think that 1080p will run BETTER?!?!
I have tried over a dozen different computer setups... all of them failed to reach full frame rate using 720p....
its the flash plugin... a total piece of shit.
LanceCampeau 2 years ago
hmm... so if you render a video at 1920x1080 it is 1080p, but also gives you the option on youtube to watch at 720p for slower computers?

Ummmm..... I think your a little confused 720 p=1280x720 and 1080p=1920x1080
The "P" stands for progressive scan

I know what it means, it's just kinda hard to make sense in the explanation.

I've recorded mine in 16:9 1920x1080 and it still seems to just go in HD. (This is after weeks now, so it isn't still processing).
I'm confused.

Higher Resolution 1280x720
1920x1080 more pixels more quality picture.
