  • holymoly!!!!

  • Anybody know what year this is... and what marque was number 29?

  • HOLY CRAP!!! awesome bikes, even better skilled riders. ssure sounds like the pee-wee class!

  • Great bit of history.

  • thanks for uploading!!!

  • These bikes are twice as fast as the 50cc bikes today.

  • Thanks for these great memories.. I saw them racing in 1966-67, at the I.o.M.

I recall how the Suzuki rider made 9 down-shifts into a 80 m.p.h. corner, and then back up thru the gears out... The engines had a very narrow power-band.. They reved to amazing r.p.m.s...

  • Brilliant stuff!!!

  • The 50cc Suzuki twins had 14 speed gear boxes, the single cylinder Kreidler machines had 18 gears while the four stroke Honda twins got along with a mere 12 because of its superior spread of power.

  • yes thats right. They did move onto a three cylinder which had 18 gears but they never got to use that due to the restrictions on the number of cylinders and gears imposed by the FIM

  • they need to bring 50s back, or have like equivalent 4-strokes

  • Allan Millyard?

  • Yer you are right. I am all for whatever they could possibly come up with that works, like they say variety is the spice of life and it is sad they don't have classes like this anymore. Oh well the world 125 cc will have to do.Guess you know all about

  • What a bastard these thing would have been to race !!!! WAS it 13 or 18 speed ?

  • i think these were 16 speed, suzuki went on to produce a 3 cylinder 50 this had 18 gears. its a real shame that restrictions were put on cylinder numbers, what would we see today?
