According to Westword, Anver called it self-defense. Since when does self-defense involve egging-on a bloodied person, chasing them across a parking lot, and slamming them into a car in a headlock? I wonder how this one turns out in court. I hope those hypocrites -- Phish -- not only fire the douche, but lose a big chunk of their following because of this. BOOOOOOOO.
In Colorado, if you believe that someone has broken a law against you, you can get away with almost anything to get "justice". You can even break other laws. It works that way in court and apparently on the streets, too. It's very corrupt here. Always has been.
Bands have been hiring biker-goon-squads to "keep the peace" since Altamont. I just thought better of the Phish Organization than putting someone like this on payroll to work the lots. I've gotten citations twice for likeness infringement from them in the 90's (one was a straight up pic of Trey and the other had the logo and a likeness), but they were polite and had no problem expaining their actions. But, I guess Amy...... like Paul and Brad....gotta move on too.
According to several witnesses, while the Asian kid stepped in to question Dave's authority, Dave was the physical aggressor, hitting the kid repeatedly in the head with a walkie-talkie, well prior to even the second video, which shows Dave spraying him repeatedly with pepper spray.
Dave is not a law enforcement officer, he is a former biker thug/gun salesman/black belt who overstepped the line by a country mile. [Note his threats toward Mark Zuckerberg.]
Then there is the pattern of consistent stories from other fans, about Dave's actions at other shows, all of which bear a striking resemblance to Dave's actions here
. Grabbing non-infringing merch, pushing pregnant women, telling people that he "makes the laws," the guy is a real class act, and you should definitely defend him. I am not an apologist for people violating the band's legitimate trademarks, but like any civil matter, there is no room for physical violence.
@dfg It's easy to makes threats over the Internet. Why don't prove to me that you're a man of your word and come to my house and do something?
