people, if u cant get this to work, its usually a duracell that does it... and all of u people that cant get it to work is probably because u arent doing it right so stop fucking up peoples video's with ur spaming. Cause no one wants to hear u guys bitch about ur problems
DC to an AC not even the main issue its not the right voltage. A battery like that produces 1.5v DC.A TV needs 120v AC to operate... the voltage might be stepped down by a transformer (which only work with AC current) inside the TV, but you still would need close to 120v running through the plug to power the TV.
well, I heard tv's hold electricity in them, like, you can get electrocuted by an unplugged tv, so maybe the battery is only like, completing a circuit and the tv kind of powers itself for a while? Idk, I'm no expert.
Old tv's with CRT picture tubes did, and only older models that didn't have a built in discharging resistor. Most powersupplies have capacitators that also hold a small charge

Well, you can actually charge up any device with any type of battery. Electrical devices don't rely on the battery type, it relies on any electrical source that it is given and that's why you can power anything with any battery.
Try doing it to something other then a t.v. Like something small like a lamp or some christmas lights, something that would be useful in case of a power outage.
dude.. a power source isnt just a power source.. if it takes AC.. then itl prob b transformed (which u cant do with DC) and then rectified..which would further lower the voltage on a DC source (due to the diodes).. dont kno jack abt TVs. but just wanted to point out that powersource aint that simple
yes but yor tv has an ac dc converter in it that converts AC power in to DC so if you plug a DC baterry in it it will work and even without the converter it will work cuzz it doesnt matter for the pixels if they run on ac or dc
Although it is true that just about any form of energy can be converted one way or another into the (approx)~115volts ~2amps that this tv requires, I promise you that a single AAA battery will not power this television. Even if using the most efficient speakers available to date, you would BARELY be able to hear the audio from this set as loud as is shown (let alone power up an old stytle Cathode Ray Tube).
Many people are overlooking the fact that there are two 'kinds' of energy at work here: VOLTS and AMPS. Using the plug shown, the tv requires 115-volts AC at about 1-3 amps. The requirements for BOTH the volatage AND the amperage must be met for the tv to work. Convert the 1.5-volt DC AAA battery however you want, there simply is not enough amps in a single AAA battery to power the television - PERIOD. Yes, a 24 volt truck battery (LOTS of AMPS) would certainly have enough amps to run the tv.
Yep, that's what I said, an inverter on a 1,5 volt bat would just work like a short circuit. However, Volts and Ampere are not diffrent kinds of energy, they are just diffrent aspects of any electrical energy. Voltage is the "diffrence" or "Pressure" of the electricity, Ampere is the amount of that energy. That's why battery capacity is in ampere-hours
any of the people hu actually belive HouseholdHackers video are really dumb all he wants to do is get u to reck some stuff and find out u have wasted ur time
It is plausible, a tv has capacitors that supply the required voltage for a tv when it turns on. That is why new tvs fire up quickly and old tvs take ten minutes to warm up and have a clear picture. With the capacitors aiding the battery the Tv might be albe to turn on, but I doubt that a tv will stay on for longer than 5-10 min.
EDIT: I just had an idea, maybe the reason for some people's expiriments not working is because they used old tv's which would draw power only from the battery without any aid of capacitors, and they will not turn on because the tube itself is too taxing on the battery. My solution for you is use a newer tv!
There's still not enough power in a 1.2V battery to charge those big capacitors. Even if it could, the cap would discharge so quickly, you'd hardly know the TV was on.
I didnt have a AAA battery. So I substituted a watch battery I had in my junk drawer. Also I used green duct tape instead of the pretty stuff.
You know I almost made it to the end of Lord of the rings. Then the tv went dead. I think its a conspiracy. Or maybe you need the amps of the AAA. My bad, dissregard the conspiracy stuff.
Hey walkonwalls. Did you know if you take three dozen rolls of masking tape. Peel them flat and rub the sticky side with your fingers. You can remove enough sticky tape stuff to apply to your feet.

true, however the AC input plug goes through a transformer internally to step the voltage from 120VAC to roughly the controller operating voltage, before going through some type of regulator. This means that there is a set of coils seperating the ac input to the controller board electronics and coils do not pass DC current, only AC current. Hence a battery is useless in this case.
dosnt matter what amount of volts u need what matters is Amps so keep it up try it and let me know if it works or not by the way, are u the only guy in India or every buddy over there is as retarded as u r lol
you should be happy that somebody who learned something, explains to a dumbass (like you are) that this doesn´t work before you do some senseless shit to your TV
The current would flow through the cables because they are just cables. You'd still measure 1.5v at the other end. It's just that 1.5v isn't going to power a TV of ANY description.
That's not true. A CRT doesn't hold the power. A FBT - flyback transformer does. The controlling voltage for most TVs is a lot higher than 5v as well. It's around 32v. The exception to the rule is digital TVs like plasmas and LCDs that have a much lower logic board voltage.
But the wire and tape upgrades the volts of the battery for only 2% down payment with no interest so it works and I'm running my computer off of a AAA as we speak fucker die
Why No Seperate the tv From All Walls & other Electric Object's ( ANd show us with only the tv a battery 2 cables & an Antenna & ensure we can see the cable runing in to the back of the tv

US mains voltage is 110V and most TVs draw about 2 amps
plus battery's give direct current(positive and negative) whereas mains is alternating current (alternating between + and - and a ground wire)
basically it aint gonna work.

You cannot power a 110v AC or 220v AC appliance off a 1.5v DC battery. Even with an inverter, you simply wouldn't have the current available.
