Maybe we are just from different locals. I grew up in gang neighborhoods and I didn't see it at all and as an adult I only see it as a cultural thing. When it gets to the family and the household its not like that. My son is tops in his class and my youngest want to emulate him when they are old enough.

This includes not using appropriate capitalization, starting a sentence with the word "because" and "and" (which can only work on rare occasion, but not here), not using necessary apostrophes, not using necessary periods and question marks, and spelling "too" as "to".
