i went there in november and stll have the quiet man bride and reminders of where qiet man was filmed and i understand that john wayne has built a ranch in galway somewhere in connemara mountains what a beautiful city
The cottage "White a Morn" is no longer standing...........its a pile of stones as everyone took a piece of the house with them. The "original" cottage is not in Connemara.....but in Cong!!!!!
It isn't Saint Patrick's day in America (or anywhere else for that matter) without watching "The Quiet Man". John Ford was immensely proud of his Irish heritage and this film is the proof. A little Hollywood trivia, John Ford's real name was Sean O'Feeney.

I was in Cong last summer and visited the cottage, or what’s left of it, I uploaded some video

Was there last year, think the original was near Leam bridge. The one on show now is just a replica.

Thank you for posting this. Quiet Man is one of my favorite films and seeing the cottage in reality is very nice indeed.

I guess that was son filming mom and dad?
Anyway, thanks for the shot inside the cottage.
I never got the opportunity to see inside when I visited in 1993.
Best wishes Dermot
