  • LOL DONT BLAME THE AMERICANS ITS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT THEY ARE DUMB AS FUCK AND THINK EVERY THING IS ALL ABOUT THEM AND THEY INVENTED AND MADE EVERY THING. THATS WHY IT IS THE ASSHOLE OF THE WORLD

  • THIS IS GREAT ! now i know where Chevrolet came up with the "Mom, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet.. advertising for America, They Nicked it from you Blokes !

  • What's the name of that white station wagon at 0:48? Looks nice!

  • Holden FTW!

  • Who gives a fark whether Holden or GM. They're both makers of shitboxes compared to the Japs and Europeans.

  • pies? hahaha aussie pies are shit, they must have no taste lol

  • Holden is owned by americans and has never been australian

  • @AshtrayanConvict are you a dickhead, americans took our holdens and turned them in to chevs and so on

  • @crip4lifeism Hahaha. WRONG, it's the other way around. This is building a car we're talking about not, attaching corks to hats via some cord.

  • J.A. Holden & Co was founded in 1856 as a saddlery manufacturer.then in 1885 became Holden & Frost in 1908. It moved into the automotive field doing minor repairs to car upholstery. Then in 1919 Holden's Motor Body Builders Ltd became the exclusive supplier of car bodies for GM in Australia 1924 and in 1931 General Motors purchased Holden Motor Body Builders and merged it with General Motors (Australia) becoming a subsidiary of the U.S.-based General Motors (GM) IT PAYS TO KNOW TO FACTS

  • @AshtrayanConvict lol what a dick 1856 J.A Holden & Co made saddles. Then 1885 changed to Holden & Frost Ltd before they moved into the business of minor repairs to car upholstery in 1908. Then in 1919 they become Holden Motor Body Builders and in 1924 became the exclusive supplier of car bodies for GM in Australia IT WAS NOT TILL 1931 THAT General Motors purchased Holden Motor Body Builders AND THEREFORE MAKING THE A subsidiary of the U.S.-based General Motors BECOMING GENERAL MOTORS HOLDEN

  • @yeatru lol football [ posh ], meat pies [ redneck] and kangaroos[ wtf] yeh still its american owned so go suck on a tube you bogan retard and whack off to your mother you moron

  • Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet!

  • @Pookatube WTF!

  • @Pookatube For we Americans, that's what Chevrolet's ad jingle was. How's that for copying, eh?

  • Comment removed

  • Holdens came along way since then... Hsv all the way

  • 25$ real money no deposit required Go here: goo.gl\XpPC0 Thumbs up if you like porn

  • So this is how they brain-washed Aussies into thinking the modern Holden is the true Australian car. Sure back in the day they were Australian, but not since GM took over...

  • @boogiefever1985

Interesting comment. Which day back in are you talking about? GM "took over" when, exactly?

  • @stan0matic General Motors purchased Holden in 1931 during the Great Depression.

  • @boogiefever1985 Good point, and what many Australians don't realise that many so called "aussie Holdens", were either designed/or outsourced from other countries eg. Holden Commodore - OPEL Germany, Holden Gemini - Izusu Japan, same with the Holden Rodeo. Even the Torana originally came from the Vauxhall Viva.

  • Australia summed up in one 58sec ad. I,m not dissin it by the way.

  • My dad had an FC holden, then an EK holden - that one was HUGE! then an HT Kingswwood and finally an HQ.

  • love this ad

  • Go the torana at 0m22s I used to own one of those.

  • A Real Car

  • look like american cars !

  • @brrook2010 Only in that they have 4 wheels and a windscreen... How many Yank Tanks had a 186 with steering on the right?

  • nice

  • HOLDENS AS AUSTRALIAN AS DIM SIMS

  • @RedBeretXXX hahhahahahshahhaahaha :D

  • Baseball Hotdogs Apple pie and Chevrolet.

  • Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars!

AS AMERICAN AS baseball, apple pie, and Chevrolet !

  • my dad bought that red kingswood. stupidly thinking it was a brand new car lol

  • Not so multicultural then was it! Most multiculturalism doesn't work.....

  • I'm a Yank who visited a couple times for a few days but I did get to see a game at VFL Park. GM did invest in Holden and they are also connected with Daewoo, Vauxhall, Opel, and Isuzu. It is still Austrlaian though with American investors.

  • I remember this commercial when I was a kid! Awesome to see it again they should do a retro commercial using the VE range.

  • What ever today Holden is owned by an American Corporation anyway n o better than ford, Hell i take the japs Toyota over this car better 4wd tougher stronger.

  • @hambone9119 It's always (well, since 1930) been owned by GM. Unlike Ford and "the japs" however, Holden's have actually designed and built a whole car entirely in Australia. Australian enough for me, given that no other such vehicle's ever existed.

And besides...in the 70s and 80s, all cars were rubbish.

  • @rmendell The Hq is one tough son of a bitch of a car, My uncle crossed the outback in his and it still is licencesed and runs needs major body work though, I drive a xf 88 Panal van Automatic its sluggish unless i leadfoot it.

  • lalalalalala "We like football, meatpies, kangaroos and holden cars" lalalalalalala

  • So this is why the yanks still think we have kangaroos in our backyards? Bloody hell!

  • @elalis

I am a Yank who lived in Australia for a year. Believe me, never once did a kangaroo appear in our backyard! But that is quite understandable being that our yard there was smaller than our third of a acre piece of property that we had in Piscataway, New Jersey!

  • so ocker!!!..LOL

  • idiotic, foolish, typical aussie comercial gone wrong

  • @audiavantveesix

What exactly went wrong with this commercial?

  • Lol this was Braaivleis, Rugby, Sunny Skies and Chevrolet in South Africa :)

  • i wonder if they will relaunch the Kingswood like they did with the Monaro

  • @0:29 Why does the baby have to be in the way???

  • i hate holden but still a good old ad

  • @thebigbvideos ... so ... un-Australian then ...lol

  • Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars!

rapin', shootin' pigs, fighting ethnics with billyclubs!

    ugh. terrible.

  • interesting. Chevrolet, that other GM product talked about "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet " back around 1974.

  • @MrRETEROROB

Was there actually a commercial with that theme?

  • @Smartboy8877 yes there was and it went exactly like the Holden ad.

  • @MrRETEROROB

Thank you very much for enlightening me!

  • One of the best car commercials ever, it really cemented that Australian mind position for Holden. Excellent. I want to get a Kingswood now! :)

  • Bonzer!

  • My parents had a Holden Kingswood....Biggest piece of shit ever.....Had Japanese cars since....and never looked back!

  • @larrytimtams traitor

  • How much of a Holden car is actually MADE in Australia these days?

  • Rugby,Marijuana,Alcohol and Ford cars- New Zealand

  • football, baseball, apple pies and chevrolets - USA

football, meat pies, kangaroos and holden cars - OZ

  • Who the fuck LOVES kangaroos?

  • @kingdelamare not me

  • @kingdelamare I do. On the BBQ.

  • This ad follows exactly the "Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet" ad campain in the USA!!! Same tune, just changed the words (and the cars)!

  • yeah,i´d rather push a holden than drive a ford ;)

  • @moparmagnum440 so you would rather push a holden??????.do ya research first.holden was made and part assembled in detroit michigan ...THE U.S.A...no different to exporting the "aussie"car to the fucking iraqis because it was built to handle the hot climate like we have.im not being a smart arse but the bloody fx holden was designed in detroit.just realise the first fx had no BADGESfor at least six months because they were still trying to come up with a name to call the fucking thing.FACT .

  • @79walkabout its called th 48-215 NOOB

  • Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars!..... wtf?!

  • Junk

  • MEAT pies?!

  • yep when ya could pour a concrete drive way and have a beer with Mick or John or dave that lived next door

  • they should have slipped in an image of a bloke between the meat pie and the "Whats your favourite animal?- kangaroo!" bit instead of a woman, its a bit un fair dinkum but guess they didn't care how women might have felt about that little flash of lady going about her business as the question was posed...

  • aussie aussie aussie hol de en or holden holden holden oi oi oi oi

  • Meatpies *shot of lady's ass on the beach*

  • Yes that's good old Australia

  • Yes Holden is part of GM and has been since 1931, but its still OUR car and remained independent from the rest of the company for a long time, and far exceeds anything the yanks make. Id prefer my rear wheel drive large sized big engined machine than any front wheel drive horribly built and engineered pathetic immitation of far superior japanese vehicles.

Holden was one of a few subsidaries making a profit when GM filed for bankrupcy and is the centre of rear wheel chassis development.

  • @sutherlandA1 I know what you mean, Pontiac wanted to bring back the GTO to compete with the new Dodge Charger, so they imported a Holden Monaro, face lifted it with Pontiac trim(badly) , and detuned it to keep the EPA Gestapo happy. GM was stuck flogging 4X4s and shitty and ugly front drive cars that nobody wanted until they decided to bring back the Camaro, very likely the engineering came from Holden.

  • ive got an hz kingy, never gonna sell it

gonna drive it till it stops

    new cars are shit

  • Love Holden's, owned a EH Holden Special (Factory Original) and HZ Kingswood-SL

Miss my babies! My father thought it would be nice to buy a ford and I said NOPE Holden's are the best! Even though yes I am a female I love my Holden's LOL

    cheers RFDSfan {Kris Jones}

  • This was when Australia was Australia. Stone the flammin crows matey, it's time we bring her back.

  • Holden Go Better...

  • ahhhh so thats where wilsons holden got the idea for the ad ahhhhhhh

  • All those things except for kangaroos are from Victoria!

  • Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Ford Cars

  • @tullochaustralia you fail ford is american an shit no aussie roots holden is australian but owned by yanks like vegemite

  • In South Africa it was " Braai vleis rugby sunny skies and Chevrolet"

  • 30sec ftw!

  • The sad thing is it is just a copy of a GM commercial, Great commercial tho

  • @zefer14

    GM owns Holden

  • @gamewizard I know this, GM bought out Holden's in the partnership years ago. Holden was a coach maker than went into cars with GM.

  • Chevrolet had basically the same ad back then. "baseball hotdogs apple pie & Chevrolet " who copied who I wonder?

  • @Cass48 It's because Chevrolet ownes Holden. They launched the marketing campaign in their main markets, those being the US and Australia.

  • @Cass48

Since Holden is a division of General Motors, nobody copied anyone.

  • wouldnt touch a daewoo opps holden or hang on a daewoo with holden badges if you paid me. Holden these days is absolute crap!

  • @fj1764 Well I might agree with you for everything except the Commodore, because it most certainly is not a Daewoo! I can also remember my Grandfather refusing to ever buy Jap Crap! Funny how times change - few question the worth of Japanese cars nowadays. Anyhow, the current Cruze is a pretty well put together and equipped car - not great at anything and not exciting, but neither is a Corolla....

  • @Aussie74ify

    I just farted

  • damn! im 22 years old and proudly owner of vy SS ute but i want go back to 70s and trade VY for HQ or whatever cause im sick of 2010's shits (lebs peoples, gas price rising, too many of fucking polices and other shits) and this video look like 70's life is simple and enjoy. thats what my parent trying to tell me!

  • @messsssup - We used to call gas 'petrol' back then too... Ahh, them were the days...

  • @piginasack we still do. I dont know where hes from. gas is yank.

  • EPIC hahaha this is sick.. i miss when we were so bogan what happened...

  • Oh Australia, you so crazy.

  • This song is so gosh darned happy.

  • I own a Holden and this advert just reinforces my pride in owning such an icon

  • Lol..this ad is like godamn socialist propoganda.

  • great cars holdens!!!. got a 76 SLR 5000 fantastic car gets more looks than any of these modern shit boxes, euro, japs, everything

  • They need to put this back on the air for like both channel 9 and 7 hahaaha

  • man back when holden was ACTUALLY Australian. now its just GM thats built in Australia.

man i miss me old 202 straight 6, brilliant motor even with 300,000 on the dash

  • @Paiste402 Teh 202 was a LEMON!

  • @ace69er

FUCK OFF lol im ready for an argument. best aussie 6 ever made to this point. ive had 3 of em and never had a problem even after 10 years of no service with one.

  • @Paiste402 Wel lthen you must have been LUCKY, or had a later improved 202. The original 1s were fucked by 100K! friends of my family bought a new HQ 1974 model with a 202 in it. by 1976, it had a NEW 202 dropped in it by Holden cos the original 1 had blown up (along with 100s of others)!

Best were the 173 and 186! All made from same 186 block!

My Dad had an old Belmont wagon as his work car b4 he retired, had a 186! Ran like clock and SO quiet you couldnt hear it running! UNLIKE a 202!

  • Holden came to regret this add ten years later when the yuppy era hit and they were trying to look 'up-market'. blue collar yobbo stuff was right out of fashion and the "football, meat pies, kangaroos" thing came back to bite Holden on the ass.

  • WATCH THIS HODLEN VT TESTING HOW LUAD IT IS MUST SEE/watch?v=dylcZbRNuGI

  • @josephEmireloRS Now WTF does that mean in english?

  • this ad is terrible

  • dude valiant kicked both holdens and fords ass they had to ban the HEMI it was just too damm good.

  • Has its basis from the mid seventies American Chevrolet commercial: "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet."

  • Forgot all about this ... the song came back to me when I played this video. I was born in Australia but immigrated to Canada when I was 15 .... thanks for the memories.

  • great marketing though

  • Don't apologize that's what youtube is for.

  • it should b ford cars

  • if anyone thinks that holden are australian your an idiot type in first holden car on the internet and it will tell you that they were designed and made (first 3) in 1946 in detroit then shipped here for testing. they were gonna call them the canbra after canberra but called them holden after william holden who worked for ford making bodies for model t's until he was fired for bad workmanship. yep sounds aussie

  • .30 holly crap thats a big bikini

  • "was" australian

  • Omg!..its so OCKER!!!!!!..LOL

  • lol look at the hippy saluting the flag xD

  • bloody beautiful

  • Gold!!

  • hahahah thats gold

  • best gm ad

  • looooooooooooooool love it

    hahahhahhhahahah

  • Australia had the second best looking cars next the us. except in south america where it was 10 year old american designs. All the other countires had to make do with small roller skates.

  • NO AUSSY CARS ARE BETTER THAN AMERICAN CARS remember who gave u the 1967 Pontiac and 2004 gto(HOLDEN MONARO COPY) AUSTRALIA sure American mussel look unique but AUSTRALIAN cars have balls yea u heard be BALLS!!!!!!!

  • The 1967 Pontiac what???

  • @dudeweresmycarlol They are practically the same.

Only American cars had big blocks, Aus cars didnt.

  • holdens are american owned dipshit these no such thing as australian made and owned cars lol

  • no ur so absolutly right we dont have a plant in australia that builds holden so stupid of me thats for making fords right? and holden is its own company as well fool its only owned by gm holden are their own independent company

  • @r34per1989 No, actually their a brand name under General Motors.

  • people who put chev badges on are idiots most people dont seem to know that the ls1 ls2 and ls3 are yes from america but the australian engineers only use basically block as australia has different conditions over here they change most of the internals

  • @grumpyone60 They stil have Heavy influence from GM since their owned by them. Its not an Australian Brand, its a divistion of General Motors.

  • Actually, you'll find Holden was an australian owned company, then bought by GM

and is a Subsidiary of GM, Holden is basically self run, with GM having really little input on the running of the company

  • american owned moron. lol

  • ramble1212, 1ohtaf1 im not having a go so please dont feel threatened or something but i'm a holden mechanic and work next to a bloke who is in his sixty's and my mate works at holden itself and one they are not a brand name of gm hence holden long before general bought them this is why holden lost their export when pontiac was finished because they used holdens cars this is also why holden has its own abn yes ramble gm own the rights to holden but short of that they are independent

  • you just said that gm owns holden you stupid moron lol you proved my point!

  • @dudeweresmycarlol Yeah but Holden is American not Australian. So you basicly saying American cars are good.

  • Fail.

Holden was an Aussie brand till GM motors bought it, but we still continue making and designing our own Holdens.

  • @matty007007 GM has an influence in it as they OWN the company, and it is not Australian because of that.

  • @Lumotaku I don't know about that, America had some real stinkers for designs. Oldsmobile Toronado anyone? Ford Edsel? Ford Fairlane? Chrysler Royal? Australia learned efficiency in a way America could only dream of

  • Go the old cheesy ads!!! :D

  • That was the best of this theme of ads GM did. They go together, underneath the southern stars Football, meat pies and Peter Brock in a Holden Car!! Okay I remixed it :)

  • way b4 they through the rule book at australia ...

  • why did they show a girl with no shirt and say meatpie

  • i got me one of those!

  • fuck I love these adds, so wish I was around in those days, when true Australia was still alive

  • holy fuck, remember when Australia was good?

  • Now we've got filthy animals roaming around trying to change the culture of australia

  • @oxretsamx

pffft only some dumbass convict bitch would say that.

  • @btbking why now Australia's no good?

  • @smellytoilet1996 Me not no. why australia no good n-e more?

  • @700gsteak nope

  • @btbking Mate, I was thinking the same thing. What happen to us?????

  • @btbking yeah not full of fucking asains

  • @wikwak67 i like the asians mate.

  • We like sushi karate poodles and honda lmao jokes

  • @duhabcdef lol not now since ruddy is gone

    now we like red heads.

  • @painpopping lol yea dat bitch thinks shes king shit now

  • GM bought Holden in the 40s, it was only because of GM that Holden started making cars. Before that they were assembling refridgerators.

Good cars though, my VT runs like a dream

  • wait isn't it also Baseball, Apple Pie and Chevrolet?

also no love for the Kuala Bear?

  • They go together, underneath the southern stars.

Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars!

  • haha so true!
