Hey! I'm just a small town girl from ohio, I have written some songs, and posted vid's on isahossain at youtube! :) You should watch them, I sound way better in person by the way! :) My voice is very powerfull, I'm even about to try out for the voice! :) Watch!
I'm a 13 year old and after a year or so of DJ'ing, I have decided that I want to be a producer when I get older. I currently use a couple of pad controllers with Ableton Live, and I think I am getting the hang of it. Of course I am not ready to make money off of it, but I would love to collaborate with someone in a song just to start out. PM me if you would like to talk about a song, I would love to help someone out!
I started when i was 15, i sucked @ it but now m getting way better.. chk out my channel if u wanna kno, its jst a matter of how much effort and time u put in ur stuff.. now m 17 nd every day for atleast 15 mins i make tunes and sounds apart for my studies, nd i do it cuz i love doing it!!! its very hard for ppl to find what they love to do... but once you do, ders no stoping you!
I am a producer, I have only been producing music for 1 month, and I'm making huge progress. To all of you who are about to start, or have just started, Deticate your free time to music you are making, listen a lot of music from you'r idols and try new stuff. You don't even need to watch thousands of tutorials, jsut try something out, and you might find that "golden note" Good luck 2 all of you, please check my channel if youre into electronic music. :)
Well, I myself use FL since I was 15 and I'm 22 now. A lot of big names use FL: Bare, Chrispy, High Rankin', DeadPixe1 and many more... Dunno if you know any of these (The majority of Skrillex fans doesn't even know Ajapai, Bar9, Caspa, Rusko, Benga and Skream...) Anyway...
Just keep it goin' and you might get lucky someday! Just keep experimenting with sounds and innovating. Copying someone's style and sound will get you nowhere!

It's my last year in high school, and I want to be a music producer. What colleges do you recommend that are around california? One last question, if I become a music producer and I wanna start a band and I'll do all the producing. How can I get record companies to help me get out there, go big??
Not sure if I should become a producer...I love music and producing it, but when it comes to producing electronic music and not live recording it usually takes long. I once worked 18 hours on this one trance track and I am worrying about that. Help?
My dream is to become a music producer like deadmau5 and skrillex (my idols) but i'm just so mind fucked by all this stuff and technology that Deadmau5 and skrillex use, that i'm not even sure i can make it big. I'm only 13, so i hope i'll get the hang of it some day, but hell, i'm only using FL studio at the moment. Nothing hooked up to the computer, just samples and vst's. I guess everyone has to start somewhere. The only thing i have on my side is the pure love for House, Dubstep and dnb.
@jackstarblaze dont ever give up mate, your at a perfect age to learn and become better btw most producers just use computer or laptops with vst even skrillex only uses a macbook pro with lots of vst's just keep at it and have faith you will succeed :D
@djsnw Actually it's not about the DAW itself. It's about the VSTs you use, samples and loops. Also it's about the fresh ideas you got and the skills of all the software usage. There's no difference in sound if you use Massive/Razor/FM8/etc... in Cubase/Ableton/FL or in any other DAW... They all will make the same sound. Also all DAWs export the same .wav and .mp3 files. It's all about the mastering and the mixdown. FL is a great tool, easy and powerfull! Deadmau5 started with it as well!
@jackstarblaze Production with these tools takes time and effort. It's just like any instrument. Time is progress, you can't cheat time. Practice makes perfect, as they say. Go hard, be open, learn anything from anyone. Don't give up.
@jackstarblaze I have exactly the same dam problem i'm 13 wanting to be a music producer not knowing what equipment to buy just using FL studio. Also love Dubstep and Dance, House. We are all dreamers admiring Deadmau5 and all other successful Music Producers. We're exactly the SAME.
@jackstarblaze Well you follow that dream man,. I started of Just Like You, "Samples and a few VST'S, 1year later, making beats with ease, however I still got a long way to go, 1 tip for you though, since you Like House, Dubstep and DnD, Also Listen to Other Genre of music it'll open your mind to new possible tricks you can do to your sounds :)
Really? Because Super Producer Scott Storch made most of his beats putting only chords together. I know this because I play the piano and I make beats.
Seems like you didn't get what I was saying. Being able to play an instrument is pretty different from being able to compose a good song. Yes, music is made by putting chords together, but there is a reason Scott Storch is getting rich off it and we're not, it's because he's better at it. In other words, he's more talented
I gotta few questions. I'm going to a "music producing school" for 4 years. What job will I land if I don't become a music producer after college? Can I be a music producer as an employee and get paid for a living regularly at some local studio or something?
Haha. Honestly, I don't know too much about that. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "music producing school", at least not where I live. But anyways, I guess you can get paid for a living by working as a studio engineer etc, but that's not the same as working as a producer. If you're gonna get paid for a living, you simply need to work with artists that get paid, or just a bunch or artists willing to pay a lot to work with you. That's all I know.
@TheMusicalStrings When you produce/compose music, you're not just being creative with one instrument, but several. You're "painting the whole picture", not just parts of it, like someone who's playing an instrument. It's that simple. I know a lot of guys who are waaay better than me at playing guitar, but can't come up with good riffs. I'm not saying that playing an instrument doesn't require talent, it absolutely does, but it's different.
@mest4ever you are one stupid person!, anybody can sing but only a few are actually good at it, in which we call talent! just like anyone is capable of playing soccer but only a few have the skills for it, in which we call talent! anyone can throw a football but only a few are good at throw in it where they want it! called TALENT!!! Anyone can make music but only a few make hits! what you don't understand is music is an expression and to you its a so called beat!
@mest4ever Music isn't about who's the most talented or the difficulty involved in the feat.... It's about the emotion created once it hits your ears. period.

I have to agree with you. Look at Weezy and the cash money millionaires. They were thugs, drug dealers and ex cons. Yet they used that drug money to get their own record label and recording studio. You can tell they never made it to college, probably didn't make it out of Jr. High school but they are making records and money hand over fists. Kind of kills my dream of ever becoming a record producer.

COOL! I'm starting my design and media diploma course soon, I'm majoring in video production, my dream is to produce and direct music videos. Good luck on your course! =)
Good luck with that. It seems as though a lot of people who become record producers don't have college educations or tech school certifications. They just get the money anyway they can and become record producers. They buy the equipment and buy or rent their studios and make it from there. If you have noticed, a lot of them don't even sound like they made it past the 7th grade. But they are making that money doing what they love. Makes you think.
So, how do you become a pro music producer im just gonna do videos soon and there coming very soon and i just want to know how to become a pro music producer, im gonna make videos in the middle of September of this year. So you got lots of time to explain it.
i make beats myself n i dnt know how to read music or anthing and they normally come out pretty decent...theres sum on my page if u wana check them out
Hello all my producers and musicians out there! Text FJM6C5 to 53037, help support me and search "Accept that challenge" ryan leslie competition on youtube!
You can do so much with a voice when you produce it...but it helps to start with an exceptional voice....Teen singer Joanna Lauren here on Youtube is the best I've heard on Youtube....yet does not look like she's being prof produced....someone should become famous for producing this fresh, AWESOME NEW VOCALIST!
You are spending all that money to go to a private school to become a producer. How do you feel when you see kids off the street start their own record company with drug money, meanwhile you are doing it the right way. I often wondered how people felt about that. They have a school where I live called the Art Institute and they offer a program on audio and studio. But I don't have that $42,000 to go to their school. I would much rather go to college.
me and my friends are making a band, we need a producer, and we kinda need a little nudge, this might sound a little selfish, but im the lead singer, and im like the only one whos ready, sept the drummer, but were pretty good, we dont really need the other guys so if someone could find us some guitarests....like a producer or something thatd be awesome:) thanks for taking the time and reading this, just send me a message in inbox if u know anyone:)... btw were a rock band! Thanks!
I really enjoy music, and could easily see myself with a music profession. However, I don't know where to start so that I could have a future. I play guitar (badly, but nonetheless :D) and understand music well. What would be a good position for me?
start playing around with producing software like 'fl studio', 'reason', 'logic', 'cubase'.. the best way to get big now is to actually get really good at software.. i have been using reason and fl studio for about a year and a half and still learning..
pretty cool video friend, by the way we(bbuteo) would appretiate if you check our last music videos and leave a comment, we are searching for a label, thank you very much for your time, we will wait for you friend
All I can say is when you want sumtin just go for it what ever it takes you must accept all consequences. no turning back and regrets. Do sumtin wat u really luv I know sumone who hasn't go to skul yet successful just do one thing FOCUS.
im 14, and im gonna practise, being a producer so that when im eighteen, fresh out of high school i will have 4 years experience. plus im a drummer and a good drum beat writer and i am also good at writing guitar and bass parts. so ican get paid for writing and producing! making the big buck$!
Man ive been stuck between becoming a psychiatrist as opposed to a producer/ engineer which i already do freelancing. THe average producer in my state NY only racks about 50 gs a year statistically. The average psychiatrist racks 189 gs a year statistically so i think ill do music on the side lol
Yeah im finishing up my last year in music production then im going to take some psychology to become a music therapist. Its real popular in places like hospitals, schools, prisons, ect. Look into it, maybe what your looking for!
i live in liverpool. at the moment im in college, so its basiicaly a job that is my number 1 hobbie. and i think making 8 thousand in my first year im quite happy with that. already iin this year i have made £4600
i havnt got that much equiment. i olny have a apple mac with logic pro. a bluebird microphone. a Soundcraft FX16ii mixer but i think i am goin to buy a new bigger one. the M audio axiom midi keyboard. a pop scrren the SE reflection filter. audio interface. thats it really. olny a small home studio. im thinking of goin bigger on the eqipment and also. moving into a commercial property but i need to find the right place to do that.
yes my first year i made 8 thousand. i just worked hard at it but i never even new how to play instruments. i learnt how to mix and make beats from youtube videos. i must of just been the lucky one i guess. good luck in the future for you then.
ive been looking for info online, getting tutorials and what not, but it seems theres a lack of guidance, no one really wants to help anyone it seems in this industry, but i guess its all about being persistant and not giving up, if one really likes this craft they will stick with it
nah i understand that, but they can teach formats and tips, its just a shady biz, if you dont have someone whos already in the biz and wants to teach you, chances are its gonna be a tough run, but its worth it if you really like music :)
If you want to be a record producer, don't think demo. Those days are long gone. Your product has to be ready for the market place. Remember you're competing with the best talent on the globe. Also you must have industry relationships. There's more to it but that's a start. I've done it for Sony and Capital Records.
but the ARTIST i listen to,keyword (ARTIST not business musicians) are independent and or very successful and true to themselves and don't just cash out for a meal ticket and fancy gold plated mouth guard if you will.
Just sayin, " celebrities are overrated." Plain and simple!
@RBs2THEGRAIN true or not true people still need to make a living off it. celebrities are people who are good at what they do and are rewarded for it. of course there are the not so good people that still make it big but thats just life ever industry has these trypes of people. im sure most of the people that are really good and are underground would love to be mainstream and make millions but unfortunatly there type of music is not what most people like and what the radio will play. music
you dont need to know famous people at all, i started my own home studio last year i am 17 and dont now how to play an istrument or any famous people, i have learnt from videos on youtube how to play instrument in the last 6 months and thats it. and i made £8.000 in my first year.
Its not a must, but i think (also out of experience) that it will help you if you can just play something with your hands, you know. That way you can really feel the music...
no to be honest, but you would be spending money on hiring a musician to play the song you write.. The more you can do on your own the more money you will profit
Wazzup man,I am an inspiring music producer,I am 17 years old.I currently have some beats on my page now. Can you check out my beats and see if ther good? I really would appreciate it.
Man I loved your video, is there a possibility to send you some small beats with rythm that ive done, so you can evaluate my qualities? I use Fruity Loops, Thanks in advance!

@vim92 media course sound interesting.. i would actually love to do that myselve.. well gd luck 2 u to.. maybe i'll see your videos on the tv hehe
tsrockchick 1 year ago
@tsrockchick

@007megadeth

Man ive been stuck between becoming a psychiatrist as opposed to a producer/ engineer which i already do freelancing. THe average producer in my state NY only racks about 50 gs a year statistically. The average psychiatrist racks 189 gs a year statistically so i think ill do music on the side lol

i live in liverpool. at the moment im in college, so its basiicaly a job that is my number 1 hobbie. and i think making 8 thousand in my first year im quite happy with that. already iin this year i have made £4600
neiloconnor123 2 years ago
i havnt got that much equiment. i olny have a apple mac with logic pro. a bluebird microphone. a Soundcraft FX16ii mixer but i think i am goin to buy a new bigger one. the M audio axiom midi keyboard. a pop scrren the SE reflection filter. audio interface. thats it really. olny a small home studio. im thinking of goin bigger on the eqipment and also. moving into a commercial property but i need to find the right place to do that.
neiloconnor123 2 years ago
yes my first year i made 8 thousand. i just worked hard at it but i never even new how to play instruments. i learnt how to mix and make beats from youtube videos. i must of just been the lucky one i guess. good luck in the future for you then.

the internet is really all u need to make it
richdadon15 2 years ago
ive been looking for info online, getting tutorials and what not, but it seems theres a lack of guidance, no one really wants to help anyone it seems in this industry, but i guess its all about being persistant and not giving up, if one really likes this craft they will stick with it
shalmont 2 years ago
u need to feel it dude people cant teach you to make beats u gotta learn the game ur self :D
PhyscoRecords 2 years ago
nah i understand that, but they can teach formats and tips, its just a shady biz, if you dont have someone whos already in the biz and wants to teach you, chances are its gonna be a tough run, but its worth it if you really like music :)
shalmont 2 years ago
If you want to be a record producer, don't think demo. Those days are long gone. Your product has to be ready for the market place. Remember you're competing with the best talent on the globe. Also you must have industry relationships. There's more to it but that's a start. I've done it for Sony and Capital Records.
courageux28 2 years ago 4
You got to have the drive and passion. Becoming a producer is all about being creative.

38speshul 2 years ago
you need to know famous people. plain and simple
38speshul 2 years ago
Thats not true at all..
It also depends on how you defy being successful
but the ARTIST i listen to,keyword (ARTIST not business musicians) are independent and or very successful and true to themselves and don't just cash out for a meal ticket and fancy gold plated mouth guard if you will.
Just sayin, " celebrities are overrated." Plain and simple!
RBs2THEGRAIN 2 years ago 10
@RBs2THEGRAIN true or not true people still need to make a living off it. celebrities are people who are good at what they do and are rewarded for it. of course there are the not so good people that still make it big but thats just life ever industry has these trypes of people. im sure most of the people that are really good and are underground would love to be mainstream and make millions but unfortunatly there type of music is not what most people like and what the radio will play. music
pollux446 1 year ago
you dont need to know famous people at all, i started my own home studio last year i am 17 and dont now how to play an istrument or any famous people, i have learnt from videos on youtube how to play instrument in the last 6 months and thats it. and i made £8.000 in my first year.
neiloconnor123 2 years ago
TO BE AN MUSIC PRODCUER DO U HAVE 2 KnOW HOW TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT?
liltrendzilla 3 years ago
Its not a must, but i think (also out of experience) that it will help you if you can just play something with your hands, you know. That way you can really feel the music...
juliusrox00 3 years ago
no to be honest, but you would be spending money on hiring a musician to play the song you write.. The more you can do on your own the more money you will profit
Gtrplyr1 2 years ago
@liltrendzilla Absolutely! Well if u wanna be any good lol
