it is a real shame. there is some great riding there. i have my doubts about their reasoning...when comments like "if there is any wildlife there without tire tracks on it" come up it makes you wonder about the REAL reason they closed it. stay alert...I'm hearing rumors of a ton of people getting together all at the same time and just riding in mass..illegal and may not help the cause, but the intent is to alert the media before hand...
The closure is completely bogus. I heard from one person that the EPA fell in the dirt and thats the reason the levels of asbestos were so high. Also the type of asbestos found in clear creek has been proven in numerous scientific studies to be completely harmless. So even if the asbestos levels are high it does really matter. They should just reqiure some sort of simple dust mask for all riders so the riders aren't harmed by the harmless asbestos. When are the mass riders going in?
i use the viosport SCOUT hooked to my sony HC-96 video cam. V.I.O. now has a new package that used flash memory that is supposed to be pretty nice!--i have been very happy with it so far. the cam is more capable than my SONY!
Three easy reasons dude... 1, it kills your tires. 2, its illegal. 3, it pisses people off bigtime especially when you pass them about 4th gear on a wheelie.
What part of California. I live in northern California. I ride at Carnegie ohv and want to try somewhere new.

i guess this is about an hour or so from Hollister. unfortunately, i believe it is now closed to the public--i mean everyone, not just bikes.

Ok, that's great and all, but why don't you use the road like everyone else? Isn't that harsh on your tires?
