  • Why do that??? He should have just said it in English the first time. This was done for his edification, not God's. God says himself what tongues is for...it is for when there is someone in your audience who needs God, but can't understand the language you're speaking. You could be speaking English, but they'll hear it in whatever language they speak. That's how the 3000 got saved at Pentecost. About 15 different languages were being spoken, but God allowed tongues for their salvation.

  • @aquarianbabe Your belief that "he should have just said it in English the first time" disregards Scripture & nullifies the working of the Holy Spirit. Do you not believe the Word of God? Do you not believe in the Holy Spirit who descended on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and as the initial evidence of his infilling, caused them to speak with other tongues? If Pastor Carter should have just spoken in English the first time, you might as well have said the early Church should have.... ((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe - Part 2: only spoken in the language of their day as well. It nullifies the decision of God to give the Holy Spirit, & it nullifies the decision God made to bring these two new spiritual giftings into the church at that time. To disregard this is to disregard God & his will.

Also, you are incorrect in saying, "You could be speaking English, but they'll hear it in whatever language they speak. That's how the 3000 got saved at Pentecost." No, that's not how they heard...((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe - Part 3: the Gospel & were saved. The Bible is clear, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4). They spake in other tongues. Not spoke in English that was heard in another language.

Also when other New Tew Testament believers were asked by Paul if they had received the Holy Ghost since they became believers, they said, "We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe - Part 4: (Ac 19:2). Then in verse 6, Paul laid hands on them and "the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied." Really!? The same thing happened as happened in Acts 2? Yes. These believers also received the Holy Ghost, and they, too, spoke with tongues. Not in their own language, heard in another language by someone else. They spoke in unknown tongues. I'm sorry, but your claims just aren't supported by Scripture. But thanks for your interraction.

  • @FamilyHarvestChurch I like a good Biblical debate. I was always taught by my pastor that languages unknown means unknown to them, not unknown to the entire world. That language in the tape is an unknown message. And it says in I Cor 13 that if you don't have an intepretor and no one knows what you're saying you should be quiet. There is no heavenly language. Praying for interpretation is a whole different thing. Again it says how HEAR we every man in our own tongue in Acts 2.

  • @aquarianbabe PART ONE: We don't wish to debate you, just to share the Gospel with you in brotherly love. We believe & teach that the Bible, when rightly divided, describes a difference between a private devotional tongue that is given for the prayer, worship, & edification of the personal believer, from the type of message in tongues that is given before people in a public setting. We believe Paul addressed both the subject of a personal private prayer life in tongues, & a public...((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe PART TWO: tongue given in a church setting. That second tongue–public–is one of the nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit, & is intended to be accompanied, according to Scripture, by the Interpretation of Tongues, another of the nine Gifts of the Spirit. When public tongues are followed by a public interpretation, understanding is achieved & the whole body is edified. Yes, in Acts 2, when Jewish believers spoke in tongues at Pentecost, visiting ethnicities heard their native...((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe PART THREE: tongues, because the tongue that the Holy Spirit chose to speak through them was whatever particular language those folks spoke in their homelands. Praise God for that, & we believe that Gift still happens today. We have even seen videos online that show beautiful demonstrations of that. They may even be listed in our favorites section. At the same time, it does not disqualify that there is also a tongue unknown to men that the Spirit of God may choose...((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe PART FOUR: to speak through us. Paul said we speak with tongues of men & tongues of angels…He also said he that speaks in unknown tongues, speaks not to men, but to God. So if every tongue spoken is to God, then why did the believers speak to men in Acts 2? The answer is simple. When you speak in tongues, sometimes it is to God (used in private, personal prayer & worship), & sometimes it is to men (used in a public setting). We believe the Bible teaches that...((cont))

  • @aquarianbabe: PART FIVE: the Gift of Tongues, & the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues, are two distinct Gifts of the Holy Spirit that operate at his discretion & by his unction, & they exist for the edification of both the individual believer & the greater body, called the church, & as a sign to unbelievers.

  • I Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. 3 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

You can edify the church in speaking in tongues with interpretation, but at the same time it's speaking to God, not to men.

  • @intruthwithlove777 Amen. Thank you for that clear and biblical post. The church gets edified when prophecy is given. And the Gift of Tongues followed by a Gift of Interpretation of Tongues are a biblical equivalent to the Gift of Prophesying. We should have prophesying, OR tongues followed by interpretation. But never tongues with no interpretation. That edifies no one but the person who speaks it.

  • Why is he interpreting his own tongues.??? this is why I doubt these so called tongues of these churches.

  • Part 1: kennysandis099, thanks for the question: "Why is he interpreting his own tongues.???"

The answer is simple: The Bible tells us that those who speak a message in tongues should also expect God to give them the interpretation of it. Here is the Scriptural reference for it:

  • Part 2:

    1 Corinthians 14:13:

KJV - Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

NLT - So anyone who speaks in tongues should pray also for the ability to interpret what has been said.

ESV - Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray for the power to interpret.

  • Part 3: So, whether we speak a message in tongues in a public church setting, or alone in our private worship, we should be able to receive the interpretation of it from the Holy Spirit. This is the only way it will truly bring spiritual edification (see v.5).

This video is just a wonderful demonstration of the Holy Spirit performing these two spiritual Gifts in the exact pattern the Bible lays out. If you have any other questions or need further clarification, please just ask! Blessings!

  • @FamilyHarvestChurch Tongues is for when someone who doesn't speak like you can hear if no interpreter can be found. If you don't speak Greek and they come to your church looking to get saved you'll still be speaking in English and they'll hear it in Greek and get saved. No heavenly language, because no one would understand it. God is not the author of confusion...He says it Himself, and that display was pretty confusing. That was an edification of self, not God.

  • @aquarianbabe Please note 1 Corinthians 14:2, which says that "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:" Yet we also know that on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, the Spirit's speaking in tongues through believers was understood in known languages as well. So the Bible clearly lets us know, there are both known tongues (understood to other men) and unknown tongues (understood only by God, according to 1 Cor. 14:12) spoken through us by the Holy Spirit.

  • I truly believe that these pastors interprete what they want people to hear to benefit their churches and get more money. Have you seen Marjoe check him out on youtube. The man spoke in tongues meanwhile he confessed that it was all phoney to get people to give him money. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Mathew 7:14. Just make sure you dont have itching ears and believe everything you see.

  • @kennysandiso99 Please note that the interpretation given said absolutely nothing about money. Secondarily, the interpretation itself can easily be backed by Scripture.

  • Bro Carter, I would also submit ! Thessalonians 5:19 Quench no the Spirit.

Simple and true, God needs no explanation or justification by mans wisdom. HE is sufficient in His word that is truth. The five fold ministry is alive in todays church since God is unchanging.

    Lord bless

  • Response to rsouthern, Part 3: ...1 Cor. 14:39, Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 1 Cor. 14:13, Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

I encourage you to seek the Lord while he may be found. Repent of your sins and ask the Spirit of God to fill you. Let HIM lead you into truth. And if you sincerely approach Him with that desire, you will not be disappointed. He will hear, He will answer, and He will do.

  • Response to rsouthern, Part 2: ...will surely lead and guide us into the truth of the holy Word of God, who, himself, is a Spirit John 4:24 says, God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Concerning advising believers not to speak in tongues and interpret, you are advising them to disobey the Word of God, and the leading of the Holy Spirit of God who has filled them and leads them into truth.

  • Response to rsouthern, Part 1: Our faith is not in the religion called Christianity, but in the Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. You speak of the Spirit of Truth, and may not even know that you have touched on a biblical truth John 16:13 says, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. This tells us that the Holy Spirit...

  • drop your faith in Christianity and ask for the spirit of truth because we are not suppose to be messing around with spirits and the hole religion worships a spirit not god. i no refuse to speak in tongues and interpret them and i advise anyone else to.
