We had Shock Troopers 2 at our local Dairy Queen for a very short amount of time and it's absolutely brilliant. Sadly I never got to play the original, although it looks stellar. Try ST2 Mark, I guarantee you'll dig it.

@xxcrysad3000xx I find ST 2nd Squad to be a let down sorry.Way to much slowdown and not enough paths to choose from,plus saurus took away the roll move.I had the game for my mvs complete kit to and i didn't waste time selling it either.Part one for shock troopers plays way better and is more of a complete game then the sequel was.

Mark, you don't use the roll once in this video! There is another button which makes you roll which dodges any bullets. It sort of makes you invincible for a second when you are rolling and there is a slight delay before you can do it again meaning you aren't invincible forever. It's really useful to dodge bullets with it.

Great game, got it on SNK Arcade Classics disc for PS2, Wii. If you have either of these you can probably pick that disc up now (which comes with Metal Slug, World Heroes, KoF and more) for less than the cost of this single download on PSN.

I think Shock Troopers was the one best of the top down shoot'em up games around up til that point... and I really can't think of any others afterwards that came out that did better.
