  • All great men converge into the path of greatness...whether they transcend from two different ends of the spectrum, they still come together in the middle and walk the same path.

To all laymen fighters, Any regular Joe has no chance of withstanding a full FMA barrage much less live to tell the tale, though Tatang and his fluidity and GM Angel and his fluidity came through...in the end, they realized their fortes in their styles and taught it to the world...they didn't care for lineage.

  • GM Illustrisimo's Fighter Spirit Lives! Mabuhay si tatang illustrisimo!!! R.I.P.

  • Wow! Great skills! A Great Grand Master!

  • Serrada shares something here that you are neglecting to see. The heart and culture are from one homeland. In my opinion Tatang would be ashamed of such a petty argument. Tatang didn't call names to my recollection, he cut off hands. Grow up and keep practicing.

  • in fact all the fma grandmasters like tatang illustrissimo, vicente carin ,timoteo maranga, benjamin luna lema and others use their systems against japanese soldiers in ww2 and kill them.and you see they survived the ww2 and fma was their tool.

  • the fact that all of you griping about each other about what is and what is not FMA or particular styles is what will prevent the propogation of the art to be accepted by the global community at large. If we can't get along within our own circles of FMA, why would anyone else show respect to us?

  • Youre all silly.

  • Wow... these pussies would never dream of saying this shit to my face, or anyone who is a legitimate practitioner under any of the Masters.

    TigerO'Serrada.

PS: Estoca, Serrada, you do know you are arguing with Guro Jeff Finder, an advanced degree holder under GM Angel, and a well lauded tournament escrima fighter of WEKAF fame. I don't remember if he won or took second, but I sincerely doubt Guro Jeff is the idiot pussy here. Now you two, on the other hand, are abject retards. Hopelessly gay!

  • Serrada is a joke in the Philippines. It simply does not work.

  • there is no serrade presence in the philippines

  • Yeah? So what? Angel lived most of his life in the U.S. and so had no students in the R.P. OTOH, Dizon was well known in the Philippines and highly respected by the other grandmasters, and what Angel taught was Dizon's style, only the teaching structure was changed.

  • cabales serrada is an american style. developed in hawaii and stockton. dizon is not cabales. stop riding on dizon's popularity.

  • Hmm. That's why GM Vicente Carin was so interested in my training in 1989. That's why Gen. Fabian Ver's former bodyguard was "shocked" to see "such an advanced system being practiced in the U.S." These guys didn't think Serrada was a joke. If you don't think it works go to Stockton, where Angel lived, and try any of his many students there. They're always happy to demonstrate to doubters.

  • wow desperate namedropping. look at all the big names you keep attaching to your system. you even fantasize a connection between an old philippine system and serrada. you mentioned a popular philippine style, a corrupt general, a grandmaster, all not associated with your system. and now you oblige those stockton students who are clueless about this demonstration you set them up for.

  • and look at the title of this youtube clip. it has absolutely nothing with serrada!

  • And yet you and others use this to bash Serrada. I only know what I know from a couple of decades in these arts. "Fantasize" an old connection? We in Serrada know the history of our lineage, whereas you spout ignorance. Bye ...

  • Sorry your reasoning is so limited. You are claiming there is no merit to the system; I pointed out that highly experienced escrimadors in the Philipines had a different opinion. At least I have experience and facts behind what I say.

  • a lot more experienced eskrimadors in the philippines do not agree with your opinion about serrada's heritage and its connection to other styles.

  • I see. More experienced that Tatang, Jose Mena or Vicente Carin, who between them had nearly 200 years combined experience. At least I can say who said what and when, either directly to me or to someone I know well, but your unnamed sources are clearly superior.

  • Guy's. Cool yer jets. It's obvious that Mr Serrada is a master in what little (and obvious uneducated) mind he posseses. Let's see his video's and let's have him show us his contributions to the art.. Then maybe he will be worth listening to. Until then....... he's got nuttin.

  • tough and hard legend

  • ask the people who you are geting your info from who was angels greatest student the fastest and the grand master know

its a blackman name sultan some were in ca know do homework on that

  • first you say he was the stick boy now there in a gang together angel left the philppians when he was 16 your dumb ass listing to people give you half the truth you

  • hahhahha, that's my cousin sitting on the step wearing the ronald mcdonald looking outfit. he was 7 there...hahaha.

  • You're missed GM Antonio. Thanks for posting this vid.

  • There is so much similarity between Tatang's movement and that of Angel Cabales! It looks so familiar when I see this; I wish I'd known more about the common points in their background (particularly Dizon) when I met Ilustrisimo.

  • thats bullshit Angel Cabales! never carry no stick for no Ilustrisimo who the hell tell you that is a damm lie stop spreading bad info and out right lies on youtube

  • BTW, you do know Angel was in a gang with Dizon, right? They called it "the Escrimador gang" and basically did protection for businesses on the waterfront. I don't know if Tatang ever worked with Dizon like that, but if he did, it would have been after Angel left the Philippines.

  • Angel Cabales serrada don't look like GM Antonio escrima i here some call kali which they made up you never here Ilustrisimo call his art kali

  • There's a lot of similarity between Tatang's movement and Angel Cabales' escrima. Since you're a fan of Sultan Uddin, ask him; he met Tatang and confirmed it. Both GM's trained with Felicissimo Dizon, so there's the link.

  • no there's not!! there's no locking system in Ilustrisimo escrima the foot work is deferent against an angle one the too approach woud be deferent to me angel approach was better also i don't have to defer to any one you don't know me an it would be dangerous to assume any thing about me you calling me a fan who the hell are you a fan of you'll call ilustrisimo's art kali

  • No, I don't know who you are; sorry you are so touchy. I merely pointed out that since you seem to respect Sultan Uddin, you might ask him about the similarities since he confirmed this himself with Tatang, as he's told me. I never said they are the same system, but have common elements. As for me, I met Tatang in Cebu and Manila, but I'm not in his system. I merely trained privately with Angel Cabales for six years and know most of his master students directly by training with them. You?

  • no i don't go for this greatness by association bullshit i've broken arms lacerated rectums pierced scrotums in defending myself why would you have to get confirmation from mr. ulldeen when claim to know all these master and met tatang in cebu why didn't you ask him when you talked to him or angel i don't give a fuck who you trained with can you fight you?

  • OK, you're a great warrior. However, YOU are the one who made the comment about Sultan being Angel's greatest, so all you're doing now is contradicting yourself. You also can't read intelligently, since my original post said I wish I'd known the connection between Tatang and Dizon when I met him. Done "discussing" this with someone who thinks like a 14 year old.

  • thats bullshit. Tatang hates Angel's style.

  • Uh huh. And you base this on personal knowledge? Please explain. When I met Tatang, he didn't act that way, nor have any of his students whom I've met, and when Sultan visited and trained with him, Tatang specifically noted common roots in both styles, including hidden hand signals. Since the styles are similar in many ways and have common influences, what exactly would Tatang hate about it?

  • yes i do. just because you met someone a few times doesn't mean you know him. what does that make you? you're nothing more than an acquaintance.

  • The one, the only ! ! Grandmaster Antonio "Tatang" Ilustrisimo .
