Yes she was just rubbing/patting his back because Edmund was concerned for the girl. when we watch the video He gets excited watching her open her gifts but when she cries he gets concerned and tries to cheer her up by kissing the screen. When she is happy at the end Edmund is happy too. After it's finished he cries for us to play it again.
