  • Great job playing these, especially with the camera on - I'd be so nervous - you have posted here on YouTube a GREAT collection of hymns. Many of my favorites - I am Episcopalian.

  • Nicely played. Please post more hymns.

    Thanks.

  • He is risen...Amen and amen!

  • How beautiful ! Your organ sounds wonderful, like a huge pipe organ with many sounds and stops. It is a very great organ. Your playing is also top drawer! You make the music flow ! Thanks for sharing this piece of wonderful organ music.

  • My church played this with bells, chorus and full organ for Easter Services. The full organ sounded beautifully.

  • Hi Lance, Majestic Hymn and gives goose bumps (I just had one last Sunday)while singing along with the congregation during the Easter Vigil service.

I assume that you move to G Major for Alleluia's in the second verse?. Is it an improvisation?. It sounds nice

  • I remember this hymn from my childhood ... and how much I loved it .... singing with great gusto too .... So on Easter day evening, a perfect find on UTube .... Thanks for a lovely link to my past

  • As Easter 2011 has come and gone, we hold on to the hope of eternal life in God's plan for redemption. Knowing you are in Florida, we ask you to join us in remembering Seath Tyler Jackson, 15, murdered by 5 of his peers last weekend in Marion County, FL. Please help spread the word in the beautiful pipe organ community. More info at Marion County Press dot com. Thank you and God bless.

  • This Easter, spread the truth like Jesus did instead of perpetuating deception and myth. Go to TruthContest (dot)com and open The Present (with religion). Read what it says if you are seeking to learn the truth of Life. Pass this on to everyone you can reach.

  • Thank you, it is a pleasure to hear the hymn just as I heard it in a small town church as a child as many have said. There was only innocence and hope then. The regalness of the organ with the march to victory was powerfully implanted as the organ and trumpets belted out LOUDLY and proudly the song of our forgiven sins and of love eternal. "We" were usually so (shhhh) very quiet in church....Thank God for Easter when the congregation "let loose" and really let the praise out!!

  • Jesus IS risen!

  • @vico100 Indeed he is risen!

  • hi

  • I love that song :) well played. God bless you :)

  • Very good Job.

    Btw Nice ring brother

  • Beautifully played! I've sung this one many times during Easter mass here in Sweden and I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it! The Swedish name of the psalm is "Livet vann dess namn är Jesus" (Life won, its name is Christ) Thanks for uploading and God bless!

  • Ok, is it 'bad' to say I mainly go to church to hear the organ & the serman? These are the Lutheran hymns I grew up with, I could sit & listen to this stuff all day. Great job & thanks for sharing :)

  • Jesus Christ is the master and Lord.

Best regards, I like this hymn

    João

  • uh, that sooo good. I'm just singing my heart out.

  • Thanks so much.....so good to hear this piece from my childhood........

  • Great job! My neighbor can play an organ or a piano just like you can. You're both wonderful!

  • Thank you †

  • You're very welcome and God Bless!

  • Can't remember if I have previously commented on this, but my favourite Easter Hymn...very uplifting.

  • Organ has got to be the hardest instrument to learn. I'm a violin player, and I thought that was hard when I first learned..over 20 years ago. I knew that was nowhere near as hard as an organ.

  • There is a lot to know when playing an Organ and technical skills are important, but that comes with time. I think the Violin is a hard instrument to play ♫ ♪ ♫

  • I can tell you, that even after all these years, I've just started learning Orange Blossom Special, and am having quite a time with that one. Patience...sigh...haha. But this is much different from most music I play. Most of what I do is gospel/classical/showtunes.

  • Reading the sheet music to it is a nightmare, but I'm sure in a couple months I'll about breeze through it.

  • Can't begin to tell you (through my tears) what this music means to me. Having been excluded from corporate worship for so long, having these stunning representations of the hymns of my youth -- even if in shorts and sneakers -- it just warms my soul. Thank you, a thousand times over!

  • You're welcome although no sneakers.... It is around 90 every day where I live. Thank you for visiting †

  • I just wish you had the ratings turned on or else i would rate you 5 stars. Great Playing I've found your channel but never gotten a chance to write you a comment. I go to church but not very much but I really enjoyed your playing your really good and I hope you are doing well Quadracer687 (Laura) ps I hope you will check out my youtube channel if you get a chance

  • Thank you †

  • Loved this.

  • Very beautiful:)

I was curious if anyone could tell me how to make the cross symbol please:)

  • THE national anthem of ALL christianity! god bless you lance forever, as well as me, and the church of christ! Amen.

  • JESUS CHRIST HAS RISEN TODAY

  • Very nice. beautiful hymn. Me gusta mucho este himno. He is risen!! Él ha resucitado, aleluya!!!

  • I am glad to see I am not alone in my love of the traditional hymns. You play them in such a beautiful way with so much meaning. Thank you for your glorification to God through your playing.

  • Your welcome - my honor, I love the traditional hymns - Lance †

  • INDEED. He is risen from the dead. ALLELUIA

  • He is risen.

    HIP HIP HOORAY

  • That's the Spirit ! He is Risen Indeed †

  • I love this hymn!! Thank you for posting!

Christ Is Risen!! He is risen indeed!!

  • Your welcome - CHRIST is Risen Indeed †

  • he is risen indeed Alleujah

  • It was so great hearing this hymn in church today. It seemed like the people that don't usually sing sang this hymn. It's so wonderful for Easter Sunday. I think someone should write a Christmas version, lol.

  • "so sad the catholic church has gotten away from this music. "

    Not all have!

  • Just my personal opinion and I am a a little Bias because I love the traditional Hymns, the reason I post so many... but when they silenced the ORGAN in many churches, the attendance dropped.

  • "He is risen, He is risen indeed" Alleluia! +T+

  • He is RISEN Indeed †

  • The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!

  • one of my favorite hymns! thank you so much!

  • Your welcome, HE is Risen †

  • beautiful. I love the traditional... so sad the catholic church has gotten away from this music.

  • Fortunately there are still a few Churches that are still using the Traditional Hymns... Thank you for visiting. He is Risen †

  • My Catholic Church used this this Easter! :D It was so beautiful because they used the organ bells too. I was in awe!

  • My favorite Easter Hymn. And well performed. Thank you for sharing !

  • Your welcome †

  • Thanks for playing this so beautifully, organpipe8, like every one of your hymns. Our organist always has this as the Processional Hymn on the Easter Sunday Masses, and it used to be the Recessional for the Easter Vigil, but he changed it to "Christ Is Risen From the Dead". I think the Easter Sunday services are so wonderful because Jesus is Risen and you can actually sing "Alleluia" again with it's absence for 6 weeks. Happy Easter!

Christ Is Risen - Indeed, he is Risen!

  • Christ is Risen Indeed †

  • this hymn brings out the main reason of easter day, i am going to do it for this easter, as well as how deep the faters love for us, have you heard it.

  • Sorry never heard of it and looked in my 13 Hymnals and not in there ♫

  • Wonderful for the season. I'm accompanying a choir on this right now. Beautiful arrangement, as usual.

  • Thank you - post your Choir sometime, would like to hear them Blessings - Lance †

  • great playing....what organ model it this?

  • Thanks - please go to my Profile page, I mention the Organ there. God Bless †

  • Great job! I love this song. In my choir, when the sopranos harmonize at the last verse, it never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

  • You are truly amazing i love your videos as a young up coming organist i love to see what you do with the hymns. please tell me what that is you play on the left hand in all your hymns

  • Thanks - I am sorry i don't fully understand what you are asking - left hand in all hymns ?

  • the constant movement on your left hand what is that

  • ??? it's the notes as written in the hymn.

  • Lol, I think he means the chords.

  • Thanks for sharing this great music ! I can smell the Lilies and the tulips now ! I am enjoying all of your psotings !

  • Makes you feel all "Eastery" just to hear this beautiful hymn! Thank you again for providing it. Many blessings.

  • I remember as a very small child, the smell of Easter associated with this Hymn, flowers adorned the church.... My honor and your welcome † † †

  • Thanks for posting! I'm new to cantoring and have used many of your videos to practice! I am looking for "Lead me Lord" which I am scheduled to sing in a couple weeks! If you know it...please play it!! thanks again!

  • wow!

  • Hey, how about the the Anglican Benediction Hymns?

"O Saving Victim", and Hymn 200, "Therefore we before Him bending"!

You're amongst the best! Pax tecum!

  • my favorite easter song, you did the best job ever

  • Thank You †

  • Thanks for sharing, beautiful!

  • Your welcome †

  • great playing mr organpipe8,you have inspired me through many of you videos to play the church organ in my church.

  • Thanks and GREAT news - please serve the LORD in your church !

  • Beautiful! uplifting

  • Thank You †

  • Bravo!

    thanks Lance.

    Welldone. God bless.

  • Love this old favorite so much! Can almost smell the Easter lilies when listening to you play, Lance! :-) Thanks, as always!

  • Your welcome †

  • Your songs are amazing. God has given you the talent of music

  • Thank You and YES all my talent comes from GOD †

  • Hi Lance,

Great job on this. What are the stops on this organ?

  • Hi, there are too many too list hear and they are also adjustable. I can email you sometime or go to the Viscount Website and they have the Organ there and the Stops with demo sounds. †

  • This is one of my favorite hymns. I grew up singing it in church and play it well. God bless you.

  • Thanks - A great Hymn ! Blessings to you †

  • A lovely majestic hymn. Forgive me but I watched your video talking about your injury and I see sadness in your eyes.

    God bless you son.

  • Thank You - My Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) has caused me great pain because it ended my long Service to the LORD as a Classical Church Organist. The GOOD NEWS is that I can still play Hymns and Praise The LORD and thanks to YouTube, continue my Musical Ministry. GOD Is NOT Finished Working with me yet ! You may see sadness in my eyes, but there is JOY in my HEART !

    GOD BLESS YOU

    Lance †

  • lance you are the best organ pipe player ever in the history of all churches, exept for my choir piano player mark

  • GREAT - Yes a nice Hymn in any Language. Thanks for watching, Lance †

  • good job, and god bless you

  • Thank You and GOD Bless you too, Lance †

  • A very wonderful Easter hymn! I've been given the opportunity to play some hymns (in private) at my parish, & wow, "what a wonderful experience"!! I want more than ever, to learn how to play those foot pedals, that's what makes the music sound so wonderful!!

  • Keep practicing and your dream will come true, GOD moves in mysterious ways and sometimes he takes baby steps... He got you to the Organ for a wonderful experience... wait and see what's next. Lance †

  • Can you do Alleluia, He Is Risen? its with a sort of Gospel Choir Rhythm , anyways happy easter and bless all :)

  • I can't tell, Organpipe, are you doubling the bass pedaling with the hands? I generally don't do that but wished I could in this hymn to cover myself, but I find it almost impossible to do that in some places. BTW, I ended up playing Christ Lag and LLanfair for the opening prelude yesterday; Llanfair I can control a lot easier and ironically the Bach chorale is easier than Christ the Lord has risen today. I will start posting vids soon. Praise the Lord for these great hymns.

  • Hi, with this organ, only 13 small pedals, I have to improvise sometimes, only one octave. I try to use the actual bass notes as written whenever possible. Lance †

  • God bless you, sir. You have played the instrument very well.

  • Thank You, very kind of you and thanks for visiting my video's †

  • What a marvelous hymn. At Holy Family Church (Fresh Meadows, NY), we had a trumpet accompany the organ at Easter morning Mass. WOW!

  • Trumpet + ORGAN = PRAISE THE LORD †

  • Beautiful. Yes indeed, He is risen! Thank you.

  • Your welcome †

  • This was the opening hymn at Mass this morning.....probably in churches EVERYWHERE!! Wonderful Easter tradition!

  • CHRIST IS RISEN

     HE IS RISEN INDEED

  • † † † Alleluia !

  • Thanks for posting. Happy Easter!!

  • ++"Why do you seek the LIVING amoung the Dead?, He is RISEN he is not here, see the place where they laid him" Alleluia! +++ A Wonderful the Kingdom's National Anthem!

  • Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

  • CHRIST IS RISEN INDEED - Alleluia †

  • I am very anxious to sing this today with our ery loud organ. It is always a well known Processional Hymn for Easter.

  • This is one of the hardest hymns to play. I usually have fits around Easter time playing this one, as I am a pianist first, but it seems to be getting easier every year. Thank you for posting Llanfair as well.

  • Your welcome, well maybe by next year you will post it here for all of us to hear, I would enjoy it. Blessings †

  • Great Playing, I got a Worship book from our church and am trying to play the song with a left hand because it doesn't show it, you are helping me a lot, thank you, God Bless

  • THANKS and that is awesome, keep practicing and I want to see you post it when you are ready :-)

    Lance †

  • when i hear you playing this hymn--in my head i imagine a trumpet accompanying you!! =)

  • Nice - sounds gr8t with a trumpet †

  • I remember Grandma (dad's mom) wearing hats to church. She also had an Easter hat. I miss those old traditions.

  • Those were the good days when people respected the Church, All Women wore hats. I wish they could come back †

  • Yes, I, too, remember my alter boy days, walking down the aisle in my long black cassock, swinging the incence burner. I love that smell!!

  • YES!!! Cassock and SURPLICE!!! I miss the good old days...

  • Before being the Organist at age 13, I was the Crucifer, I was Tall :-)

  • Oh-more memories of catholic school in my youth and serving as an altar boy at early Sunday masses...it all comes back...

May God bless and keep you sir. thank you for sharing with us.

    Jim

  • Your welcome, yeah fond memories I hope †

  • Yes, all very fond memories. No regrets...

    Thank you one again.

  • I grew up hearing this song every Easter and it never gets old. I love it!! You weren't kidding...a pair of good headphones makes a world of difference in the sound. Still sounds great w/o them, but you can definately hear the seapration w/ them plugged in. Very comforting to listen to either way :D

  • Great - Enjoy †

  • whe i hear you playing, i can smell the incense my church uses

  • Very nice. Do more videos :)

  • Thanks I have 230 now... †

  • As a fellow organist, this is great! I'm currently practicing this to play at my church on Easter Sunday really, really loud!

  • Thanks... maybe you can post some on here sometime ;-)

  • Great song! With Ash Wednsday a month away, we will be hearing this song before we know it? My family and I ask for you to play and record any Lent hymns you know!

  • There are a few on now but some more coming, please do a search by Hymn Name or Hymn tune.

  • I love this one. Thanks. God bless you.

  • Your welcome - Enjoy !
