It's amazing that you learn all that stuff by heart. Kudos for you, and don't ever stop recording Brazilian music, your renditions are just fantastic. Thank you very much!!
Amazing song, very well played.I have been wanting to learn this song for a while but, i cant find tabs or sheets for it. Would you happen to have either?
thanks. well the writer credit is definitely Vinicius who did play some guitar. whether or not there's more than a little of Baden's musical vocabulary in there is a very good question though.
hi troubleclef, I don't have words to describe that but I just know that it's one of the most nicest melodies I've ever heard. I'd love to play like it, so pls can u send the tabs pls
im not usually this annoying, but i think you forgot some important slides in the song. Maybe the recording doesnt allow us to hear, but anyway...sounds a bit off
Its amazing! You should play Yamandu Costa's version which he plays on "Vinicius de Moraes - Quem pagara o enterro e as flores se eu me morrer de amores?". It is very pretty too.
A Alma Brasileira Agradece por este Capricho da Natureza...Parabéns Ao Poeta das Cordas,As Cordas que Falam em Distorções Suaves,em Vibrações que embalam o coração,decibéis de Pura magia...
It's actually good! - but the rhythm should be a little bit different. Check ovidiov's (not as clean) version. Waiting for more choros, whenever you're ready to score them!
very interesting. i don't know if "should" be different is quite the phrase. there seems to be two ways the song is written out, because i'm playing it as written (in my version). ovidiov's and, for that matter, barbosa-lima's two guitar version differ in the rhythmic underpinning of the main section. I play melody then underlying chord twice. They play melody and underlying chord three times. Are there any recordings of JP himself playng it?
I bet there are, but I never heard of them. I have Dilermando Reis' recording, though. He met JP around 1930s, but it doesn't mean they played the same way. It is common to find many different versions and transcriptions of the same choro.
I posted a few months ago. Don't know your financial situation, however the quicker you get out of that apartment and into the studio to lay down some tracks the better. I know I'm good for a minimum of 10 CD's, for me and my friends, and it sounds like you have no end of fellow "googtubers" who would lay money down as well. I'm guessing you teach music/guitar at one of the local schools. Clearly you have the best guitar repertoire on YouTube today.
*swoon* Here's to my favorite guitar player on youtube! You are the epitome of everything I love about the guitar. I look forward to watching you everyday!
baden played it in a variety of different styles and with different dynamics, why shouldn't I? when you say "much to less dynamic" do you mean there should be more dynamic contrasts? You're right. Maybe there should be.
...makes a nice lullaby. It sure ain't rock'n'roll. At the end of Black Orpheus as Orfeu is carrying Euridice he believes she is just sleeping.
i just think that there is not much variety in your playing this piece. the roughness of love: hard stops, holding out notes, that's what makes the piece sad and hopefull althogether. you play it smoothly and nice; yet i think there is more agony (dynamic) needed.
Yet another wonderful video. This is so relaxing. Thanks so much for sharing your art with us. You really have an excellent left hand technique as well as very clean phrasing.
