  • It's amazing that you learn all that stuff by heart. Kudos for you, and don't ever stop recording Brazilian music, your renditions are just fantastic. Thank you very much!!

  • Amazing song, very well played.I have been wanting to learn this song for a while but, i cant find tabs or sheets for it. Would you happen to have either?

    Thanks

  • google 'brazil on guitar'. thanks

  • Just an info :

Was it composed by Baden or Vinicius ?

    Mo.

by the way, you play as beautifully with or without the mustach ;-)

  • thanks. well the writer credit is definitely Vinicius who did play some guitar. whether or not there's more than a little of Baden's musical vocabulary in there is a very good question though.

  • Muito bonito mesmo. Cuando vc pensa tocar o "apelo" do Baden Powell ??

  • sure, i'd like to do that one. thanks

  • Great, really great !!!

Can we have "apelo" by the same Baden Powell on guitar ???

  • Bravo!!! Since the first chords I was transported to Brazil , beautiful song, I'm pretty sure you must have in your repertoir Jobin's Luiza.

  • actually no, i've never worked that one out. tough song. thanks

  • hi troubleclef, I don't have words to describe that but I just know that it's one of the most nicest melodies I've ever heard. I'd love to play like it, so pls can u send the tabs pls

  • Hi Rodrigo,

like you I do love this valse and thank you so much to Troubleclef for such a wonderful interpretation.

I found it was so beautiful that I decided to make the tab by myself. I've finished now, give me your email !

    Kind regards

  • it's also available on brazil-on-guitar website

  • Como Euridice posso dizer com propriedade. Parabéns!

  • obrigado

  • yo troubleclef you never dissapoint!cant wait to hear what you play next!

  • beautiful!

  • im not usually this annoying, but i think you forgot some important slides in the song. Maybe the recording doesnt allow us to hear, but anyway...sounds a bit off

  • woot woot. This is my name...I'm glad you played it so good

  • That was fantastic. Great sound and such great talent!

  • Very nicely done, congratulations....beautiful msic choice.

  • Its amazing! You should play Yamandu Costa's version which he plays on "Vinicius de Moraes - Quem pagara o enterro e as flores se eu me morrer de amores?". It is very pretty too.

    Keep up!

  • Bon, c'est une melodie tres triste mas je l'aime beacoup! You should learn some more Toquinho...Il est gagnon!

  • I love this song...I did user it in my short movie "Sun" you can watch in my user page.

    seeya!

    it's great!

  • tahnk you very much for this beautiful record!!!

  • A Alma Brasileira Agradece por este Capricho da Natureza...Parabéns Ao Poeta das Cordas,As Cordas que Falam em Distorções Suaves,em Vibrações que embalam o coração,decibéis de Pura magia...

  • obrigado!

  • Beautiful, I liked it very much!

  • thanks! I admire your playing a lot. i just subscribed earlier but haven't had time to listen to everything yet.

  • This is beautiful! Best version since Baden's! You should try and play some choros (chorinhos) as well. Congratulations

  • thanks! check out my version of "sons de carrilhoes" choro. I've also started relearning Villa-lobos 'choro no. 1' which i'll put up at some point.

  • It's actually good! - but the rhythm should be a little bit different. Check ovidiov's (not as clean) version. Waiting for more choros, whenever you're ready to score them!

  • very interesting. i don't know if "should" be different is quite the phrase. there seems to be two ways the song is written out, because i'm playing it as written (in my version). ovidiov's and, for that matter, barbosa-lima's two guitar version differ in the rhythmic underpinning of the main section. I play melody then underlying chord twice. They play melody and underlying chord three times. Are there any recordings of JP himself playng it?

  • I bet there are, but I never heard of them. I have Dilermando Reis' recording, though. He met JP around 1930s, but it doesn't mean they played the same way. It is common to find many different versions and transcriptions of the same choro.

  • I like to much your version, congratulation from Chile

¿where can I find the tablature or partiture of this version?

  • All these songs u can find them in any Baden Powell CD. This guy is a great player, he surely has heard Baden Powell a lot. Contraulations

  • cool and soothing man!

  • Another great piece, Trouble you need a manager and a producer!

  • I posted a few months ago. Don't know your financial situation, however the quicker you get out of that apartment and into the studio to lay down some tracks the better. I know I'm good for a minimum of 10 CD's, for me and my friends, and it sounds like you have no end of fellow "googtubers" who would lay money down as well. I'm guessing you teach music/guitar at one of the local schools. Clearly you have the best guitar repertoire on YouTube today.

  • *swoon* Here's to my favorite guitar player on youtube! You are the epitome of everything I love about the guitar. I look forward to watching you everyday!

  • thank you!

  • You should consider making a CD

  • pretty lame, much to less dynamic, this is not a lullaby

  • baden played it in a variety of different styles and with different dynamics, why shouldn't I? when you say "much to less dynamic" do you mean there should be more dynamic contrasts? You're right. Maybe there should be.

...makes a nice lullaby. It sure ain't rock'n'roll. At the end of Black Orpheus as Orfeu is carrying Euridice he believes she is just sleeping.

  • i just think that there is not much variety in your playing this piece. the roughness of love: hard stops, holding out notes, that's what makes the piece sad and hopefull althogether. you play it smoothly and nice; yet i think there is more agony (dynamic) needed.

thank your for uploading this video,

    honns

  • very pretty

  • Great piece. Beautiful arrangement. Is this from the book of Brazilian pieces edited by Brian Hodel?

  • Not My Favourite Song but you played it really well.

  • just so sweet and tender.

  • This is what its about

  • Very good man! I really enjoyed this beautiful piece. Smart performance and wonderful dynamic. Thank you!

  • Better than a week off work, I can feel my blood presure dropping already. Keep them coming!

  • thanks, people

  • Really beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent.

  • You just keep getting better.

  • I hope you do this for a living.

  • O poetinha e o Baden...que maravilha.

Mais uma vez, virtuosos essas mãoes e violão...Obrigado pelo momento.

    SARAVÁ

  • you make it look so easy.

    very nice tone quality.

  • 10/10

  • Lovely!

  • Yet another wonderful video. This is so relaxing. Thanks so much for sharing your art with us. You really have an excellent left hand technique as well as very clean phrasing.
