Fruit mentos dont work because the normal mentos have a special cover made out of a special material, that gets mixed with the special things of diet coke (don't know what that was) and "explodes"

yes, I drilled a hole in the lid. I also drilled holes in the coke bottle for the middle one. I no longer use rubber bands. I put 5 or 6 mentos on a nail, put the nail through the hole, screw the lid on, and then drop the nail into the bottle.

for everyone who asked why they used diet coke. they use it cus it doesnt have sugar. when they put in the mentos, the coke will fly up and get on to their clothes. sugar will get it sticky. thats why they used diet so when the sugar touches them, it will not stick and make a big mess.
