I use a black and decker hedge trimmer, and it does the job. I find most of my hedges need an extremem trim in the early spring months. Some of them seem 2 need a little touch up here and there, in the summer time, and then another major trim in the fall again. I just like 2 keep my yard looking nice, and dont pay a lot of attention 2 the pruning books or guides, as much as when it seems that they dont look as nice as I want. I do however follow the pruning shape according 2 how I like it
