  • I can't thank you both enough for this website!! One embarrassing question though- I always have trouble with the salt amount. Too little or too much tastes terrible, and I'm never sure when it tastes right. "Salt to taste" always throws me off. Would you consider supplying the exact salt amount YOU use, and then we can adjust according to taste? Thank you so much - fantastic job both of you- I have tried many of your recipes and it is wonderful food.

  • @mmhlewis

We truly understand your pain however, salt is such a personal taste that it is almost impossible to dictate. We try to state the appropriate amount of salt for things that you cannot taste (like for baking) but for other things, you just have to keep trying and adjusting as needed.

  • How long can we keep is riata?

  • @feroz542

The raita will stay fresh for about 2-3 days. Yogurt has a long shelf life but unfortunately, cucumber does not.

  • For the cucumber slice it up sprinkle salt over it and it will draw out all the water. You say coriander seeds, coriander powder and for the coriander leaves you call it cilantro. Every one knows it as coriander leaves even here it Australia. They would not know what cilantro is. Tomato is pronounce as to mat toe and not to mate toe.

    Be Indian talk Indian.

  • I put a little tummeric in it for color and it was so amazing! I was so proud of myself for making it. Thanks

  • that looks gross. not refreshing at all. where's the lime?

  • Some times, you ladies should make out on the show. It will truly spice up the things! :D..just kiddin'.. respecta!

  • Very tasty looking dip, thank you for posting it!

  • A friend of mine who is Gujarati told me to strain the yoghurt in cheese cloth at well as squeeze out the cucumber...works very nicely!

  • what is cilantro? looks like coriander.

  • @crownsgs They are same thing. Just has more than one name ;-)

  • are you really having english ascent or you are just trying to speak that way. coz hetal is a gujarati name

  • No, I don't have an English accent, I'm just trying to speak that way. LOL Just kidding...Yes, Hetal is a Gujarati name, but I was brought up in the US.

  • thanks. i was joking too.... but "tame bov sari rite demonstrate karo cho"...nice

  • Thank you. Ame khush che ke tame hamaro show enjoy karo cho.

  • What about using Greek-strained yogurt *AND* leave the moisture of the cucumber intact? This would have the double benefit of not wasting the nutrients of the cucumber juice, *AND* there would be a lot of extra protein (due to using Greek strained).

  • Sounds like a fantastic idea! Thanks.

  • I need an Indian wife, because I made mine and it was good then I realised it was missing something.... loving hands.

  • looks good

  • Thanks, I used to make it except roasted cumin part. Will try adding it and let you know results :)

  • u are absolutely right. Cucumber without a juice is a waste, why to put it in the yogurt? I checked other their recipes, and it seems to me they are all unhealthy. And they speak slow and do things extremely slow!

  • its for the TASTE not benefit. ITS A CONDIMENT! NOT A MEAL- is ketchup good for you? no.

  • that's why we search for healthy recipes on e-net instead of buying bad stuff like a ketchup from a store...

  • Hi ShowmeTheCurry, you are doing fantastic job.. please carry on and share more and more recipes..

  • english cucumber is not needed

    any will do ya dumbo

  • as said in the video.

  • Great Raita ladies!

    God bless you
