  • i've always wondered why they would show the actors' baby pictures on a tv show. i mean i understand the concept, but still. i wonder if those are even their real baby pictures

  • Ask any girl in her early 30s and she would tell you she was a Kirk Cameron fan! =)

  • 0:00

  • every carachter looks like they have downs syndrome at some point in their childhood. whats that about.

  • used to watch this on abcfamily. i love how the intro is pictures of the cast as kids and then them as adults.

  • Still know every word from watching the reruns on Disney. Best show. Does anyone remember the Torkelsons?! Please tell me I'm not the only one who watched that show.

  • @InLikeALion3 I remember The Torkelsons! I don't remember very much about the show, but I did watch it as a kid.

  • @InLikeALion3 I watched The Torkelsons as a kid and the character of Chuckie Lee who was played by the hottie in my opinion Lee Michael Norris was my favorite male character on the show. At the same time Connie Ray who played the mother Millicent was my all time female character on the show.

  • This song is so great...same with the show.

  • You think Ron Jeremy would do Joann Kerns?

  • ☺ old memories ☺

  • is this the same religious asshole kirk C?

  • this show was very big in china back in the early 90s, this is actually one of the very few american sitcoms the chinese imported to their country during that time...

  • I used to watch this show EVERY day.... aww man, I miss it so much! So many good memories :')

  • i love singing this song out of nowhere in grocery stores...it makes everyone laugh

  • Please make tv like this again, pretty wholesome, no kids trying to be famous/singers/actors, just a regular family, we need shows like this again - I miss the 80s/90s, the closest thing to that now is Good Luck Charlie

  • aw man i love this theme song

  • This show brings back memories!! It's simply amazing <3

  • Wheres the episode where Kirk Cameron singing and they have a word

    Alan thicke thats not him

Joanna kerns Thats not her either

    ....

    Where isit

  • @PiplupTheTorrent

S6 Ep.19 All The World Is A Stage

  • @Keepitgreasy11 Oh thank you very much!! :D

  • @PiplupTheTorrent if I'm not wrong, it's from Season 6 episode "Mike's Choice"

  • Aw that was my favorite show growing up :)

  • there was legitly a guy named "boner" on this show... O.o

  • did you guys know that growing pains is very popular in china

  • BONER WAS CLASSIC

  • There were several different theme songs for the opening of Growing Pains but the one with BJ Thomas and Jennifer Warnes is the best to me!!

  • Does anyone who composed the music and who performed it? Used to love this when I was a kid. Loved the music so much. Still do. Please... Thanx'

  • @stevefp3 I believe it was written by John Bettis who wrote a lot of The Carpenters hits. This version is sung by BJ Thomas (Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head) & Jennifer Warnes ( She also recorded I've Had The Time of My Life with Bill Medley for Dirty Dancing). I think BJ Thomas also sang it solo for a season or two.

  • I remember watching this in the afternoon, with my mom and brothers around. Brings back memories, and tears.

  • This is probably my favorite theme song from the 90's. It always, ALWAYS puts me in a good mood. They experimented with different versions of this song in each of the seasons, but this particular one is the best. Love it!

  • @rosek102 This show was from the 80s, not the 90s. Yeah it did run into the 90s but it was an 80s series. You likely watched the reruns in the 90s if you think it a 90s show.

  • LMAO

  • That show was quite good, but Step by Step had better storylines.

  • I would watch this show everyday when it was on reruns for a while about 2 or 3 years ago, sad that they took it off again :(

  • Seriously had no idea he was related to DJ Tanner. lol

  • @mizzzlizzz02 Candace Cameron Bure is not only married to a hockey player not only best known to fans as DJ Tanner on Full House but yes she is the younger sister of Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron. You didn't know before now you know.

  • @Paul8820 and now she is bulimic

  • great show! What year was this?

  • @mizzzlizzz02

    85 till 92(93?) i think.

  • Good memories. I loved Kirk Cameron!

  • Did alan thicke write this theme?

  • This is the season five intro with the theme music from seasons 2-3. Season's five theme music is the same as what was used in most of season seven, with the "sharing the laughter and love" harmony at the ending.

  • Nostalgiacream'd. Hard.

  • I MET KIRK CAMERON TONIGHT!!!! We took a picture :))))))) He's SOOOO nice!

  • I as along with a million fans say: "WE WILL MISS YOU ANDREW!!! SO SORRY YOUR YOUNG LIFE ENDED THIS WAY BUT OUR HOPES ARE WITH YOU!!! You left a void in our hearts but we will keep your memory alive! RIP

  • i miss that tv show that make me feel happy with kirk cameran

  • Loved this show growing up - it's still really good, and the theme song is wonderful. I have the full version of the theme on my iPod - it's a great song!

  • I remember in my high school years, I use to make sure I ran home & didnt miss an episode of this program, the good old 80's. miss it so much

  • What do you mean Tracy Gold died ??

There's no news of that anywhere that I can find.

  • she is very much alive

  • I never knew Tracy Gold actually died!! wow damn.

  • I used to love watching this show! Especially Kirk Cameron. RIP to Andrew Koenig. May he rest in peace. He was really funny on the episodes he played in.

  • I just got a little misty eyed thinking about Boner :( :( R.I.P Andrew Koenig!

  • Actor Andrew Koenig -- best known for his role as Boner on Growing Pains -- was found dead Thursday in Vancouver, B.C. police said the actor's body was discovered "in a densely wood area ... unseen from the path" by "family and friends who initiated their own private search." Foul play is not suspected.

"My son took his own life,"adding that his son had been battling depression."Don't ignore it; don't rationalize it," he said in regards to depression. "Extend a hand."

    Dear Sweet Lord Boner : {

  • @Msbookie

and he was also the son of commander paval chekov

  • man i got the chills right now i miss these old shows so much!!

  • @Marchanoose I know what you mean. I love the theme to this song and I watched this show some back in the day

  • Andrew Koenig was found dead today. I don't know how many watch the other ones uploaded so I'm saying it on a few.

  • Yeah Boner was found dead in Vancouver

  • she's not dead

  • My fault!

  • Tracey Gold ain't dead!

  • Sorry, i thought she died of annorexia

  • She did suffer from anorexia though.

  • I thought she was bulimic. Justine Bateman (Mallory on Family Ties) was also bulimic

  • Missy ^ Tracey Gold; eating disorders. What is Hollywood doing to these people? Brad Renfro;River Phoenix, Belushi,Chris Farley, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole?

  • still kicking, but she was bulimic, not anorexic.

  • TV shows are not the same as it was in the 80's or 90's. Shows today are garbage. I stoped watching tv and just watch the good old shows on here.

  • Wished I'd been alive In 70's/80's music today is so bad it's just unbelievable

  • Joanna Kearns(Maggie) and Tracy Gold(Carol) one of the hottest mother-daughter characters in TV History.

  • @Fanik8 I think that goes to Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, to me at least.

  • DAMN I MISS THE 80s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Joanna Kerns has the nicest arse of ALL time!

  • why aren't TV shows made like this anymore who was on crack to make reality TV and change up a formula that has worked for years if I wanted reality TV I'd wal out my front door with a piece of cardboard on a pole and take a walk like peter did on family guy

  • agreed!!

  • Which season had Leo?

  • hands down, the best sitcom theme ever. Period.

  • Yeah right, nothing beats Mr.Belvedere !! *lol

  • john berry

  • I always wondered why Alan Thicke didn't sing the theme I mean he sung the Different Strokes theme. He's like the Canadian....I don't know...he's like half actor/half singer.

  • maybe he was afraid of being critiqued by his evil twin Simon

  • so amazing

  • great song...although I wasn't much for the show

  • LOL

  • I think the theme song out lived the show.

  • Show me that smile again (show me that smile)

  • hello nostalgia

I can barely remember watching this show. I think my memories of it get muddled in with full house, that stuck much better cause it's set in my hometown.

and yet for some reason, I remember the themesong word-for-word. thanks youtube.

  • They often portrayed Tracey as a nerd but she was actually very pretty.

She only started to look bad when she developed a serious eating disorder.

Later after she gained a little weight she looked good again.

  • She hated the way she looked when she had to wear a bikini in the Hawaiian Vacation episode. If you ask me, not bad at all.

  • Thats crazy cause I couldn't keep my eyes off that body when she wore that! Most girls should look like she did.

  • The show was alright until Kirk Cameron turned into a Jesus Freak.

  • yea really

  • it litterally takes my breath away hearing this song. i used to watch it on disney ,which i just today found out they were reruns and this is an 80's show.lol but i was litterally OBSESSED with this show when i was little, and i havent heard this song since then, i seriously almost cried.lol

  • sure.lol

what would make you say that hun?

    lol

    : D

  • kirk is a hottieee

  • Oh, that's a powerful shot of nostalgia right there. Almost painful. Thank you.

  • @darkprose In its defense, the pains *are* supposed to be growing.

  • @oriz0r, tht was actually deep... damn dude =0

  • the creator of the show was a huge new york mets baseball fan.thats why they are named the seavers and their neighbors are the koosmans.the mets 2 best pitchers in the 60's and 70's were tom seaver & jerry koosman..

  • i had a huge crush on carol seaver.

  • Same here, she was hot even when they tried to dork her up with those glasses.

  • i miss this show so much. i have no idea why the song popped in my head but i had to listen to it

  • are the pictures really the actors themselves when they were younger?

  • Yes they are...

  • "are the pictures really the actors themselves when they were younger?"

    I'm pretty sure they are.

  • loveee this theme song

  • kirk is so hot lol

  • Growing Pains should be on TV Land,WGN America or maybe even Lifetime.

  • Growing Pains was on Nick at Nite for a short time but they took it off, not sure why.

  • I can't remember which episode it was but one time I was watching some of the ending of one of their episodes and one of Carols friends well I think he was her friend had some internal bleeding and died later on and she was crying saying he was ok yesterday and I was like Jeez what is this episode called?! because I didn't see the first part of it unfortunately.

  • that was season 4 second chance her boyfriend sandy got in a accident after drinking to much and he died in the hospital mike (her brother) felt bad

  • Man, they must have totally ripped that off from Family Ties where mallory's boyfriend does the exact same thing. Still i a great show though.

  • aghhhhhh i miss this show ):

  • Ok. Listen at 0:21. That...well, can't describe the sound, but I love it. Which season has the opening credits where Kirk Cameron (Mike) turns around to the camera RIGHT at that moment?

  • You mean, uhh, the electric guitar?

  • lol, yeah. but still, which season has the scene in the opening credits that I was talkin about?

  • It's two electric guitars playing in harmony.

  • i know exactly what you're talking about! i also love the beginning where the guy sings "don't waste another minute of you crying" (at least i think that's how it goes? haha.)

  • I totally agree. have you heard "My Kapowski" by Def Karaoke Jam. They sample this song, its great.

  • nope, haven't heard of it

but i'll check that out right now, thanks!

  • wow robin thicke looks exactly like his father did when alan was young :07

  • ah aha hahahahah ahah hh aahahha

    BONER.

  • Ah, so this must have been from a "Ben" episode.

  • Yea, this is the one where he rapes his girlfriend and his dad got super pissed

  • OMG, I freakin love this show. I sometimes look for re-runs on TV. Great song, too.

  • Sung by B.J. Thomas and Jennifer Warnes.

  • Who sang this again?

  • Omigod, I had NO idea that's what they did in the credits! I learn this two decades later - how cool! I had a little crush on Jeremy Miller back in the day.

  • lordy Jeremy Miller was hot!

  • he still is
