No videos, I've been working hard on the bike though. Just got the engine rebuilt and the wiring harness finished up. I'd say I'm about 2 months away from riding the thing. You can bet there'll be a video of that! :)
Sorry for the late reply, I'm using MS2 V3.0, It is set up for wasted spark using a single dual output coil, and I'm using an Innovate LC-1 wideband O2 for tuning. I have not rephased the engine because I didn't set up the megasquirt for the sequential injection.
Are you using the Mega squirt ms1 or ms2. Also are you set up as wasted spark for your coils? Are you using an o2 sensor to tune? Finally last question, have you rephased the engine?
amazing, buddy. building of the frame or intake exh. is not a problem. but building and setting up the megasquirt scares the crap outta me! i hate doing electrical. i am very impressed. i have a xs hillclimber that i would love to do fuel injection /no turbo on.
Thanks for the good words guys, for anyone interested, I have a full build log on this thing which includes all current updates at xs 650 dot com, you can search for my build under the thread title: My sportbike build - an update
the bike sounds wicked, if you are willing too, can you maybe send me some info or maybe even a list of things i would need to install a turbo on my xs 650 or even something i could add to the motor to get more horsepower from the motor. nothing internal just add-onns. once again very inavative, awesome
The factory XS cover has a couple ports coming from the oil pump that are blocked off and filled. I simply drilled out one of those passages and welded on a bung that I made. It does work, however I am worried that the oil pressure will be too low at idle when warm.
you are the mad scientist of the XS659 world. nice work even though it looks like a birds nest I think it's going great.can't wait to see the final thing and it screamin down the road.
Wow! that's really cool. it will be interesting to see what your EGT is going down the road at speed. I think if you had the motor rebuilt it would run even better. Those engines are pretty tough, if anything can take it they can't. I can't wait to see how it all works out. :-)
Bwah Ha Ha HA! Dude!!! That is Fucking AWESOME! What ever would possess a man to put that kind of time, money, ingenuity and technology into an XS650 engine is beyond me, but I'm super glad you did. I bow down to your XS addiction. Man, you got it bad!!
That I do, go to xs650 . com and look for a thread entitled "My sportbike build, an update"

Sky, do you have a build thread going somewhere? I know you pulled it from metricunderground, but I was following it.

i made the frame myself. Most of it anyway, the neck, downtubes and bottom rails are factory XS, but the rest I bent up.
Thanks for the good words everyone.

very cool , you deffinetly are a inovative SOB . That bike is and will be a monster.
Is that a SV frame?

Front end is from a 2007 GSXR600 and the headlight is a streetfighter style available from Ebay.
96supercharged 11 months ago
Oh. My. God.
This is insane. I can't wait to get my xs650.
What front end and headlight is that?
alanzook 11 months ago
About 88hp if my #'s are right.
Not exactly setting the world on fire, but this project was always more about just achieving a goal.
96supercharged 1 year ago
Impressive work! How much HP do you expect the motor to make once it's finished?
