@Intrepidoutdoors. yeah i know exectly what you mean. i shot my first deer this year and we got up in the stand and within 5 mins something came in and walked right towards me and stopped and left him broadside about 25 yards away. i thought it was a big doe but it was actually a spike buck and i just overlooked the spikes. but this year im hopin to get something good like you got in the video.

nice deer...i recently shot a 130 class ten for my first deer and it was with a bow...only had 1 inch of deductions...and for the guy who wants tips on how to shoot them and stay calm...u cant stay calm...just make sure u dont look through the pins and that u take ur time on the shot...u have to take ur time...its hard but it is the difference between a hit and a miss...you might think u have good groups but when u get a deer in everything changes...good luck

Nice shot man! Hey im 13 and I want to start in this sport with bowhunting for deer. I have everything priced out and I know what I'm probably getting. Do you have any tips for keeping my cool when I see my first deer in my treestand? And I want to know how let's say my dad comes to watch and stuff. Where does he sit, do, or go? Thanks!

@chrisjuni Thanks! My best tip for keeping your cool would be to not look at the deer so hard that you start getting tunnel vision, and can't concentrate on the shot. Look for a place (shooting lane) to take your shot, and then watch the deers eyes so you know precisely when to draw your bow, and execute the shot!! Aim small miss small! Have your Dad's stand about 2 to 3 feet higher than yours, he'll be able to see everything that's going on, plus help you choose the right moment to shoot!

@chrisjuni And take deep breaths! Especially when he's coming up to you quick and you don't have time to calm down once you see him. If you are watching him for about 5 minutes, you will find that you will start to calm down after a couple of minutes. And when the shot comes, make sure you don't rush it like most poeple do. That's why they miss. There's still plenty of big bucks out there, and late archery is one of the best times to get them so good luck!

im 13 and am getting into bow hunting... just need a few more years so i have tthe streangth to use a bow to kill mine is 35 pounds now will that kill at deer at 20 yards or less ?

@USAamericaUSA My personal opinion is yes if it's hit perfectly, all too often the deer jumps the string or your aim isn't completely true, so there's a much great risk of maiming than killing. Ge to 40lbs, and let them fly!! Good luck!
