The Real McCoy was *always* taped in front of a live studio audience. Canned laughter was never used because it wasn't necessary. But the dub over Doctor Who was prerecorded. most likely so that they could correctly modulate the Cyberman's voice and match the dub to the mouth movements. Anyway, the funniest lines *can* be heard, and the mere fact that it's "dubbed" into "Jamaican" is what makes the clip so hilarious.

Now everyone stop fighting about it and just enjoy the clip for what it is.

My guess is that the laughter is not canned, but that they could not stop the dub in order for it to be heard over the laugh of the audience. As, after all, it would be extremely akward if the video were to suddenly pause, or the characters to stop speaking. It's a funny sketch, but ultimately, probably not in the best kind of presentation...If that makes sense.

whey they're not idiots for laughing at a comedy show - the producers should have measures in place to lower the audience audio levels - the producers didn't think of it.

I've had this conversation before - it can't be overdubbed, the "News reader" pauses with the live laughter then repeats himself.

Plus if it was overdubbed the producers would have the time and ability to make the levels right.

So, with respect to you, I've got no doubt that your belief is incorrect.

But logic does state that it's impossible to be an added audio track when the presenter pauses for the people to give him a chance to repeat himself - it means HE CAN HEAR THEM! hahaha :D which means they're there! which means it's not put on afterwards...........

I just wish people weren't so fucking thick - and I am also disappointed that ppl find something to argue about in a really wonderful clip.

You said they were idiots for laughing - I said not really it's a comedy - you said you got 60+ "thumbs up" so that made you feel justified for saying you weren't happy that you couldn't hear the clip.

I also included other peoples posts where they swear it's got an additional audio track on, and that annoys me cos it hasn't.

This isn't canned though, he paused and repeated his joke when the audience laughed at 16 seconds in, "starting at 7.30-starting at 7.30 with Dr Who" - Canned Laughter is put on afterwards not during the show. This laughter was loud because the audience screamed, and they didn't have the compressor set to a way that could deal with it, if they used one at all.
