@shadedude123 where i live a motorcycle is classed as any vehicle with less than 4 wheels, and yes a normal motorcycle license would let you drive these. the only other problem you may have is being 16 and getting a bike license.

This thing looks bitchin. Who cares what its top speed is. It goes 0-60 in like 4.5 seconds stock which beats the hell out of almost every car on the road. It gets over 40 mpg and its sporty. Safer than a motorcycle. Sounds pretty cool to me.

Same here... I spoke with a guy who owns one and he said it's great. He rides it in the rain and even light snow without fear. Since it has three wheels it is almost impossible to tip.

Sorry, but this thing is not safer than a motorcycle at all. If you need to brake or manuever to avoid something (a car, debris)...good luck. Plus on a bike it's easy to find the machine's limits (when sliding it). This thing you have to ride like a pussy because even though it's front end heavy, it will flip. Also if you were to fall off of this thing it would likely be an awkward fall unlike a fall off of a motorcycle where you could roll with it and reduce injuries.

Cont'd : Also on a bike you can accurately predict and control the machines performance by shifting your weight, using different lean angles and manipulating the front and rear brakes and the gears. Your body position wouldn't affect the perfromance of this machine much...if at all. Yes, it won't step out the way a bike will, but it will flip over and you might be underneath it when it does and if something gets in your way, you won't have an escape rout you're hitiing it. Safer ? Not at all.

it will not flip it has vehicle stability control which doesnt allow the wheels to come off the ground if it senses wheel life it throttles down also has ABS, and you would have to be a retard to fall off of it I drove it and it felt way safer than the old gold wing I owned its more visible going down the road than a bike, and you dont have to ride like a pussy i took the clover leafs here off the parkway at 60 and there was no problems

that would be an astounding no... my hayabusa is limited to 186 right now but when you get a power commander and will eliminate the governor and it will get close to 200 and it will get there in seconds the spyder is a shit show compared to a busa because its a v-twin and the hayabusa is a flat 4 which produces way more horsepower (mines around 170 right now) than there is always the 700 pound vs the hayabusas slim dry weight of 474.

You know,to each his or her own.I have ridden 2 wheelers for a few years and I love it. I also own a Spyder, and I love it as well. In fact, I will sell my 2 wheeler because I don't ride it anymore. True, you can not split lanes or park on a sidewalk, but the Syder is safer and more of a worry free ride. I have found most people who see the spyder love it. This includes harley riders and sport bike riders.

I can't say I see the appeal of this. Is there really some untapped market of people who've been dying to ride a motorcycle but are afraid to put their feet down? You can't split lanes, it ain't all that fast, and you can't park it on the sidewalk or perpendicular between two cars--a huge benefit for city riders.
