Anything with Edwin's voice in it automatically deems it worthless. He only has one small range, and that's pretty plain. For Wikipedia to call these guys a supergroup is a slap in the face to the Beatles, Queen, Travelling Wilburys, Journey, and many others. This is just the same flat boring Canadian shit we're used to hearing. Songs without a hook, and no catch to it whatsoever. Listen to anything past Clumsy from OLP and you'll understand. BORING!!! Could be Nickelback though...
to me a supergroup is a branch band that happens when bands break up and they go off to form other bands.... I for now just find this band ok. maybe because they just started but anyway dont be so hard on them. and as for Canadian music bein bland... SHUT IT>
@clances not sure you know what a supergroup means. it doesn't have anything to do with popularity or quality lol.
also, there is more to music than technical skill. if all you care about is technique, go listen to some disrythmia or those other types of metal that put skill before composition.
anyways, for canadian music with a hook, go listen to stuff by the tea party. jeff martin is a string instrument god, and beautiful voice. Try "Save Me".
These guys kick ass, now in this bands and in their former bands, can't think of any real Canadian who hasn't heard of their prior bands before and people need to get hooked on Crash Karma!!!

Its pretty sad that this band qualifies as a "Canadian Super-group". Ive never heard of any of these guys and I dont like their old music as well as this stuff.
@goleafs5 Our Lady Peace is pretty big in Ontario, wouldn't know about the rest of the world. I know Tea Party seems like a pretty big deal around here as well. I Mother Earth I am almost positive never got very far passed local though, at least judging by how hard it is to find their music? But in my opinion their song One More Astronaut is pretty great.
Your entitled to your opinion though... though it kinda upsets me when people say things when they have nothing good or constructive to say.
@MrSethGod all those bands are big in canada. the tea party is probably my all-time fav band. i was so sad when they broke up.
i think that if the internet was as widespread back then, they would have seen more international attention, like the arcade fire enjoys.
tea party became popular in Australia... i think OLP had some limited success in the usa... i dont think that IME got very far, though. but i love edwin's voice.
Your knowledge of IME is a bit off. They were kind of a big deal in the mid ninties, competing with Our Lady Peace in popularity. They released two huge albums Dig ('93) and Scenery and Fish ('96). One more astronaut was their biggest hit, reaching #20 on the billboard hard rock charts.
@goleafs5 really? Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth and The Tea Party were among Canada's biggest bands throughout the 90's and into the 2000's. I'm not sure there were any bands bigger then them? Tragically Hip, Moist, SuperGarage, 54/40, The Watchmen??? None of them (with exception to the tragically hip) were as popular as OLP, IME or TTP. If you are talking about the last 5-10 years, then yeah, I guess they have been replaced with Billy Talent, TDG, and Nickelback. Otherwise, you're wrong.
Saw these guys last night in St John's and I wasn't terribly impressed. They sounded professional and polished but completely uninspired. The songs all sounded rather generic and comfortably predictable - almost like they were written by a marketing committee. And to top it all off the guitar tones SUCKED (loud Dual Rectifier percussive buzz - completely toneless). It could have been any one of a dozen or more loud heavy generic rock bands playing the same old tired riffs and boring hooks.
You're pretty lucky to see them live. Someday I hope I will too. Crash Karma has a lot of potential indeed. Haven't heard their whole album yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. :)
I got my tix for the Calgary show - its on a Monday though - how dumb is that? Anyhow, I am soooo excited to see these guys. RELEASE THE ALBUM ALREADY!!!! Its driving me insane that I can't buy it yet. Been waiting for months...few more days, few more days. These guys are going to be huge!
Glad I saved the bookmark ;)

April 30th in London Ontario!
I got my tickets!
I love that it's a small venue, much more personal that way!
Jeff Burrows is on my facebook right now, he keeps me posted on the events being added and the release of the debut album, which is now out!!!
Awsome lyrics.
Very spiritual, open, honest, yet simple enough that anyone can enjoy them!
