  • everyone saying he should of retired. thats whaat everyone wants but thats not what Roy wants. He loves to fight and continues win or lose. we should support no matter what

  • No fighter had the same physical ability and physical skill set to equal roy... Not ali, not tyson not leonard not robinson... The only reason roy jones isnt rated as the best is because he was in an era and a weight division that didnt contain 'big names'. Prime LHW Roy Jones Jr was the greatest LHW of all time, and argueably his skills set at middle and super middle would make short work of any of todays top fighters at those weights

  • ROY JONES JR the greatest p4p champion ever to walk the planet

  • @yeshiva83 where can i find da tarver jones documentary u talkin bout

  • The Best Pound Is Roy Jones RJR

  • "I prepare my chickens, God prepares me."

  • Jones need to research asian (thai) rooster fighting super game birds

  • shiiit that lil dude mackie! i want him on my team! lol

  • the best boxer in the world joy jones jr

  • the best pure boxer ever!

  • @RobotechMacrossGame no he didn't you dumbass

  • Bert Sugar and his damn cigar all the time!!

  • Anyone who was the underdog in the fight and by how much ?

  • The man fought who ever was the top contender and beat them yeah he got caught slipping but he should have changed his training style for those fights he lost late in his career

  • Best Ever

  • I saw the documentary he did for the second tarver fight. He was in the best shape of his career. He should have won. He didn't throw the fight. He lost for real.

  • @yeshiva83 pretty much, Tarver caught him slippin. it happens to the best of em!!!!!

  • An amazing story of what determination can reward you with.

  • In his prime, Roy was untouchable. The man had the most unbelievable athleticism the sport has seen in some time. His skills weren't perfect, he had flaws in his game, but all of that was irrelevant. His reflexes were too sharp, his footwork too fast, his handspeed was too fast, he was always a step ahead of his opponent. Don't let his last few fights fool you, in his prime there isn't a middle who could take him. True legend.

  • when a boxer loses speed he is hopeless just like roy is now but the fact is in his prime he was the greatest ever

  • best fight i ever seen is roy jones jr vs joe calzaghe

  • Looks like Jones had just smoked a big joint at 5:04...these eyes doesn't lie:)

  • he and pacquiao has the potential to be bestfriends all because of chickens!

  • It's interesting, I never liked Roy but respected his accomplishments in his hay day, however when i saw him struggle &pulled out a split decision over Tarver 1, I began to like him bc he was humbled & fought like a champion. Despite his loses in the end he is definitely one of the greatest ever. Being undefeated isn't the only mark or a champion, it's how u 'behave' when you're losing or have lost & come back from it that makes u a great champion or one of the greatest ever! Ali even said this.

  • @BreuckelensFinest and Roy Jones has done nothing but deliver the truth out of this statement. well said nigga haha

  • ROYS THE MAN

  • what a guy

  • the best of all time..

  • Best middle to super middle weight ever - FACT

  • true dat

  • Bernard Hopkins mayne

  • @brufc3 Greatest ever period. and he doesnt pay his opponents to lose like mayweather paid mosely off

  • @salsa122 Mayweather never paid Mosley off. Why did Mosley back down on Mayweather you ask? Well youtube it. Theres a nice little video that shows what Mosley did to get that punch in and after he tried it again Floyd adjusted and countered. Look at the fucking fight!!!

  • @brufc3

he aint better than no sugar ray robinson

  • @ichirima true that

  • @brufc

    Sugar Ray was no 1

  • @brufc3 him and Hagler!

  • @brufc3 Many would argue for Sugar Ray Robinsn..

  • @brufc3 I would say middle to light heavyweight :-)

  • @Jbizzle390. You're even sillier than brufc. Go do some homework on Ezzard Charles.

  • @scalinatella1970 Its just my opinion from what ive seen, get over yourself x

  • @Jbizzle390. This has nothing to do with me, son. I speak on behalf of fighters far greater than Roy who would never waste their primes fighting mailmen and midgets like Roy insisted on doing. Go read about the prime of Ezzard Charles. Speak not on subjects of which you know little -that's good advice that we all need now and then.

  • @scalinatella1970 Theres no need to be rude to me, i was voicing my opinion as my opinion not trying to put it across as a fact as you are! I didnt realise John Ruiz was a midget either x

  • @Jbizzle390. No, but Paz was.

  • @brufc3 and the 42 dolts who believe your nonsense. None of you know boxing. I hope the ghost of Harry Greb visits you at midnight for some honest talk.

  • @brufc3 and Light HeavyWeight in his prime

  • @brufc3 hagler robinson and jones are the best middleweights of all time

james toney leonard julian jackson and carlos monzon are next in line

  • @johnosandra Jones didnt do much at Middleweight. To me he looked better at Light-Heavy.

  • @brufc3 james toney was a close contender

  • in his prime no middle weight - light heavy could ever come close

  • @RJJP4PKING The pride if Wales did

  • @Belokki i said in his prime not wen hes shot dont even talk bout dat guy. lol in his bio he wrote i would never fight roy after he lost to tarver hes simply not the same fighter LOL he was right after roy lost them 30 pounds he was finished

  • @RJJP4PKING And getting knocked out by Tarver didn't help either.

  • tru tru :/

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • it depends on the athlete whether or not he is still able to perform at an old age.believe it or not its in your genes.

now, usually when fighters are in their late 30 its usully time to call it quits.

but you forget, roy jones was all natural ability,he`s a master of the sweet science and still no one has figuered out his style.

so,even at a older age he has something special that many fighters dont have.

for the time being he can rely on his superior skill and talent.rather his youth

  • I love roy but a few have figured his style.

  • my hero and favorite fighter!!!

  • Roy in his prime one of the best!!

  • m filipino they said pacman s d greatest boxer who ever lived including, louiville lip,jc chavez n others, theyre wrong coz ROY JONES JR is d graetest boxer who ever lived hes the only 6 x POUND 4 POUND KING

  • I used to think Mackie Shilestone was a lesbian woman. dead serious

  • thats fuckin hilarious.

  • damn he always be JORDAN'd up is that his sponsor or does he just like jordan products

  • even if he aint a fan the jordan logo and attire always look damn good lol

  • Thank you for posting this. It's a really good documentary.

  • fuck me get over the chickens like!

  • lol ino man its annoying

  • were Roys reflexes and skills diminished forever by pumping up to take on Ruiz or did he just run into some tough hombres like Tarver and Johnson afterwards?

  • little bit of both...Tarver throws alot of punchs and Jones was weight drained for the first fight, he fought hard and won

in the second fight Jones was overconfident because he believed his footspeed was back, it wasn't and he wasn't fast enough to move out of that punch,

With Johnson, Roy returned to the ring much to soon, and because of that he was scared of fighting...you could tell because Jones never threw combos or took risks that entire fight, Johnson figured it out and went after him

  • As a huge fan, I feel he should've retired after the Ruiz fight as he had nothing left to prove. The haters still talked about him and he let Tarver get in his head at the press conference. Tarver is not all that. Tarver built a career out of trashing Roy Jones. What has he done since then? Nothing. I am in Tampa and I met that arrogant S.O.B. I love the fact that B-Hop put him in his place. But I digress, Roy is still on my list of all time greats.

  • He was the best athlete all time in boxing, over floyd and over pacquiao-when do athletes start go downhill? 30's-Tarver really wanted credit for beating Roy he would have stepped up in Roy's 20's-When smart analysts realize this Roy will be up there with the Greatest-People will always ask of great fighters "Yeah, but could so-n-so beat a prime Roy Jones?" thats what greatness is

  • hopkins 44 hes still a class act

  • Who the hell is talkin about hopkins? Hopkins is a technical fighter with a technical style-but who the hell is talkin about hopkins?

  • you said atheletes start going downhill in there 30's hopkins is in his 40's and on top

  • So you don't believe THE MEDICAL FACT athletes go downhill in their 30's? Because look at hopkins, who is a technical fighter? what point are you trying to make?

  • no i beleive if you live the right life eat the right foods plenty of exercise you can go on for longer

  • Not with Roy's style you can't, and definitely not in other sports-Guys like michael jordan and jerry rice and, for that roy jones did'nt exactly go around eating burger king, smoking cigarettes, and drinking alcohol lol

  • no he didnt but he did lose 25 pounds of muscle at about the age of 35 so that wernt too good for him.

  • good point

  • agreed, really bad mistake for roy to go down that fast. he should have stayed a lil bit with that weight, not say that defend his title cuz hes not even from that division..

he just saw okay the boring man, i can take on that guy easily.. u kno for the title and glory

  • @neometalx9 I think he should of retired after the first fight with Tarver and retired virtually undefeated except for one defeat by DQ which he avenged with a first round KO that way he would of gone out beating everyone he ever faced and one of the greatest fighters ever!

  • @123jokaa, na he should have stayed heavyweight

  • @jcpnw Why? he wasn't big enough to be a real heavyweight, also he was getting old so he should of retired after winning back the lightheavyweight title

  • @123jokaa, even with a high metabolism you can keep the weight without losing much during inactivity.. and this was his first fight at heavyweight, he could have put on more pounds. jones lost 30lbs of muscle to go back down to light heavy. even that first fight against tarver you saw that he wasn't the same. he won the fight on scorecards but seemed like he wanted to prove that he could be back where he was. retiring wouldn't have sat well with his mental.

  • When i said he wasnt big enough to be a heavyweight i didnt mean who couldnt keep the extra weight on him i meant he wouldn't be big enough to fight somone like Lennox Lewis the reason i said he should of retired after the first fight with Tarver was because at that point he had beaten every person he ever faced as a pro, but he wasnt the same he should of retired as the undisputed P4P greatest fighter ever

  • @123jokaa No matter whether we see Roy getting Koed, he is the best fighter ever to lace um up, greatest legacy or not! I know what I saw damnitt! I havent seen anyone ever do ALL the different things that Roy was capable of especially b4 lightheayweight. Roys first 17 fights were by KO for a reason. I would rather get my ass kicked by Tyson than Roy cause Tyson will just knock yo ass out but Roy has the ability to play with you and torture you and you NEVER see it coming or get to hit him back!

  • @123jokaa he should have retired after winning the hw title..... HAHHAAHHAAAAA u stupid fool who say that need the stop dropping their opinion. U most definitely are not a fighter, so pls quiet. Are u Roy? U walked in his shoes? Lived his life? Like I said ....Quiet

  • @jaikaransingh Yes i am a fighter and tell me why Roy shouldn't have retired after heavyweight? you fool.

  • @123jokaa Ok, U are a fighter and must explain this to u...? Either u just started or u are not very good or u are just in it for the $. Do u think a man can accomplish what he has (do some real reserch on this one) and just retire after the sucess of such a historical, personal and rare conquest? cmon. I could go on but man, figure it out, put urself in his shoes.Dont u train with pros or ex pros? Do u know what goes on in the heads of the elites? Cmon man, disapointing. Do u do it for fun?!

  • @jaikaransingh Of course he wouldnt wat to retire after all the sucess iv been boxing since i was 7 years old and i cant imagine retiring, BUT he still should of retired because he would of kept his legacy intact an probably be in the top 5 all time fighters.

  • @123jokaa Man cmon. his legacy IS intact. What wrong with ur brain? U have a strange thought process

  • it werent ruiz it was the fact that jones dramatically lost 25 pounds worth of muscles no other boxer has done that in history in such a short period of time even wen some1 drop 10 pounds of muscles it has major effect on power, speed, reflex stamina this going with the fact at the time he was 35 was the reason. Tarver himself is a okay fighter u can see the comparison with the old roy and tarver by looking at oponents they both faced roy dominates them beats them all, while tarver loses at time

  • He didn't rest long enough after fighting Ruiz. The boxing world demanded to much of him now he struggling to get through. Heart breaking

  • but i think even with losses, no doubt he was a hugely talented and entertaining boxer.. i think all round he the best. i liek to always look at all facets of the fighter.. and he alwayus keeps you intrigued even if he was losing any fight we watch.. he so multi dimensional it aint funny.. ppl liek floyd mayweather and the likes i think wont be spoken of as highly as this guy in the future even if he had losses to his career.. he is/was such a fighter that just sucked u in to see hsi every move

  • Go get em roy...hes training as hard as EVER. Watch HBO and SEE.
