  • May the force be with you, Luke

  • English electric 1959 designed plane LOOKS DOWN on u2 spy plane and gave Americans a shock they did not believe another plane especially of 1959 design could fly above their spy plane and then the Brits had tsr2 but america shut it down lend lease they call it

  • Typical Russian back in the day. Not much to look out, but...........

  • The single-seat F15A on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, nicknamed "Streak Eagle," broke eight time-to-climb world records between Jan. 16 and Feb. 1, 1975. In setting the last of the eight records, it reached an altitude of 98,425 feet just 3 minutes, 27.8 seconds from brake release at takeoff and "coasted" to nearly 103,000 feet before descending.

The F-15 has never been defeated in air to air combat. 104-0

  • I would love to be up there! Not so much without a pressure suit though...

  • why are russian aircraft cockpits that blue colour?

  • Mig 25

  • What type of mig was it?

  • Man!!! I want to have a job like yours!

  • Notice the HSI - now that would really screw up Western pilots situational awareness...

  • Bizarre j'ai pas vu l'alti. par contre il a encore 1 sacré ratio pour être à 80'000 pieds

  • The MiG-25 was capable of high performance, including a maximum speed of Mach 3.2 and a ceiling of 90,000 ft (27,000 m), although on Aug. 31, 1977, an E-266M, a specially modified Foxbat, flown by MiG OKB Chief Test Pilot Alexander Fedotov, set the recognized absolute altitude record for a jet aircraft under its own power, reaching 123,523.58 ft (37,650 m) at Podmoskovnoye, USSR in a brief zoom climb. The record is the only recognized absolute record not held by a pilot from the United States

  • Cool , nice to know.

  • @001OMEGA100 $200 you copied and pasted that from another website.

  • how were you able to fly in a mig?

  • Wow I'd love to see the world from that height...

Do you have to wear any special gear? Is it scary going that high? I go on commercial aircraft a lot but theres no comparison, and my dad was just talking about it (he used to be in the airforce) even though he has never done that.

How high do you have to be to see the Earth's curvature and space?

  • A Russian "G" flight suit, helmet and jacket but other than than that, nothing special.

I don't know the minimum height necessary to see the earth's curve but expect it is around 70,000, at least that's when I began to notice it.

Some day you may do much more than this. I too never would have expected to do something like this but it happened.

  • @Wmatthies You can start to see it around 40,000. Though, obviously, the higher you go, the more pronounced it becomes.

  • I can imagine, i'm a private pilot, it will be a dream as well, here in brazil we badly have supersonic planes ....

  • my god, the cockpit looks like an old wash machine

  • It did a bit, you're right.

The runway and tarmac had weeds growing through the cement and the ground crew chief stood smoking a cigarette, leaning on the plane while it was fueled, shirt unbuttoned down to his belt, beer belly hanging out. Nothing OSHA about any of.

Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life.

  • Well, according to the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale), the official record is 37 650 m (123 524 ft) set in 1977 by a Mikoyan/Gurevitch E-266M, which is a modified/modernized MiG-25 used to test new engines.

  • ... and by the way, yes, cool video and (I can imagine) awesome experience. Thanks for sharing...

  • highest the foxbat has ever flown is 112,950 ft

  • Do things become weightless at that altitude?

  • No, they don't.

  • desu38 is right, no weightlessness. But there was a slight sensation of less weight as we arched over the top and started back down. Nothing to write home about but interesting nonetheless.

  • damn your so lucky

  • Well, "lucky" in the sense that I could afford to do this. But I know what you mean and yes, I was fortunate to have been able to do this. I wish anyone who would like to could be able to do so.

  • you're awesome dude

  • Not me, but the ride, yes. Thanks for the comment.

  • how dose it feel at the upper edge of the atmosphere ?

  • yes, Mig-25 can fly 30000 meters, which is around 95000feet.

the cruise aititute for Boeing 747 is around 30000 feet.

  • this video is wrong..its 95,000 thousand feet.

  • I was in the cockpit for this flight but could be wrong. I'm just reporting what I was told. What makes you say it was 95K feet?

  • read up on the russian who travelled 95 K feet in his mig-25.

  • I know that Mig 25's have flown much higher than 80K feet but not the one I was in.

  • May look like junk, but its probably more capable than any of the crap you brits were able to built. Your last decent high-speed plane was the TSR-2 and you killed it to suck up on some american cock(read, F-111)

  • Russian planes always look like junk, don't take that to mean they are junk though, they have some of the best planes in the world.

  • Don't foget who gave the Americans a decent turbojet to tinker with and the origins of the Allison J33 turbojet. Were the founding fathers not all British by descent? Isn't the constitution written in English?Never the less, in my opinion, The USA is the greatest country in the world.

  • lol, little fag. this plane was build when ur dad only gonna school. And plane even can fly today. And all ur britshit are rusting in dump.

  • its like a space shuttle with guns. this jet is the coolest.

  • @ibaga Actually the MiG-25 didn't carry any guns.

  • but that is the veiw from 80000 feet! i dont get it! ??????

  • in 1970 mig 25 reached 37 kilometers.

  • mig-25's are sick my friends

  • cool!!
