  • That sax player was totally fantastic!

  • dude i luv the stones...

denis leary does a skit about how if he owned a bar it would be all stones, all the time! i would move to ny for that bar

  • Got the moves like Jagger.. WAIT! That is Jagger:)

  • sweet

  • TEN YEARS AGO , HOW TIME GOES BYE SO FAST !! LETS HOPE WE SEE THEM AND CHARLIE WATS , RONNIE WOOD , MICK TAYLOR & BILL WYMAN, AT LEST FOR ONE LAST TOUR !! NEVER TOLD OLD TO ROCK & ROLL.

  • yup. dude STILL has ample supplies... :)

  • They just don't make 'em like they used to...

  • Wow factor and that guitar riff KR is king : )

  • 58 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME? And he moves like that?! What?! Just...what?!

  • @ajpbrunet certainly the same " medecine " as lance armstrong to win seven " tour de france " ! hahahaha

  • @ajpbrunet Jagger is in good shape, look at his arms. He jogs, works out. And it shows. A lot of older people do not do that, and they get fat, let themselves go. If you stretch everyday, your muscles will not wither, and you will be able to use them. He keeps active. I admire him for that.

  • bigg shoes, kickk big butt

  • I was there that night...McCartney stole the show

  • Comment removed

  • @beatles1000 they say the Who stole the show.

  • @fumetti They did. They were amazing .I think it was Entwistle's last performance with them. I'm just a die hard Beatles fan. I went there to see McCartney

  • As great as they are, too bad Bobby Keys wasn't their to take his sax solo or charlie givnig it that extra flare and Bill his special touch, just more proof that the Stones are the greatest but take a spoke out and the wheel doesn't roll as well.Jaggger and Richard are great in this video, the rest of the band as well, but without Charlie, Bill, Woody or Bobby is noticeably a downgrade. NOT THE STONES!

  • @JoshSwartzberg Like low fat milk.

  • it's 1979 you are high on coke and alot vodka, david kennedy and bobby say hey let;s play play with the big boys. shit the next thing is you are are in a car going to Montauk with such a fun bunch. wish I was 18 again. thanks Mick

  • gotta do the 'miss you' dance like jagger so much stilo truly great.

  • SOLID!!!!

  • Thanks for the Memories for all peoples he died on two Towers .

  • shittttt mick's got more energy than that crowd

  • Mick Jagger, like Tony Bennett, doesn't age - just looks as good as ever.

  • I been in luv with mj since I was thirteen wish he miss me

  • my favorite of mj very sexy and such an entertainer

  • Mick has always been soooooo uncoordinated but that's part of his charm Love it!

  • Keith Richards can be relied upon to sort out Al Quaeda. He would whack 'em all with his gee-tar, knock 'em spastic and then.... Go on playing.

  • Sir Michael Philip "Mick" Jagger (born 26 July 1943).......

  • MICK JAGGER REALLY ENJOYS LIFE!

  • @Gaston7192 He really does seem to know how to keep everything in perspective. He surely is a man of weath and taste.

  • yes !! i was there ,, jagger is fantastic.

  • Loquisimo

  • 4:26 I mean really, wth is he doing?

  • I've watched about 10 live videos of miss you and they are all horrible. Am I the only one who thinks all of these live videos blow? Is it just a ton of die hard fans on each of their videos giving them such praise? I honestly think Mick Jagger is singing horribly and his overall performance is cheesy as hell.

  • its the embarrassing uncle drunk and dancing at a party

  • "Who cares" Jagger/Richards is 10X more original & didnt sell out to CSI.

  • And after God created Mick he rested

  • Lets talk about the people who demolished the WTC. Insider job or mossad false flag.

  • hey its mick jagger. love him or hate him.

  • @zoomckng Love him lol :D

  • that was just sad to watch...

  • what year and where can i download it please

  • David Bowie rocked the deal.

  • @mick50651 The Who owned that show ;)

  • He moves pretty good for a pensioner !

  • I hope yoursel as a pensioner, f will be able to move as good as he does....Don't be sarcastic amigo!!!!

  • @dirkbogarde44 Hopefully you and me will be able to move as he does whenever we reach jis age hahahahahahhaah!!!

  • They should have played 'Sympathy for the Devil.'

  • Don't worry folks: shit-stirring, repulsive old Yid troll alert....

Type in 'Beatles Candlestick Park 3' for a spectacular example of mental combustion....

  • The Who like coloring book energy; never get that sly Stones style cool.

  • Can anybody tell me what year that concert was? The Who was awesome!! Mick and Keith are great, and check out Paul Schaeffer on the organ, that guy is everywhere!!

  • @LizinLouie, Concert For NYC, October 20, 2001. There's a DVD available on amazon.com

  • Mick has inspired me to go jogging and sing- at the same time.

    He's a phenomenon!

  • THE WHO DID BLOW AWAY EVERYBODY THIS NIGHT,BUT OVERALL THEY WILL AND WAS ALWAYS BE BEHIND THE STONES.THIS WAS NOT BAD THOUGH.EVERYBODY GOT TOGETHER 4 A GOOD CAUSE.THE WHO PLAYED A LONGER SET ALSO.THEY SEMED TO BE REALLY INTO IT.PROBALLY THERE LAST GOOD PERFORMANCE.

  • Mick Jagger forever...

  • Yeah, yeah, I like it , back at ya Mickツ

  • The Stones, The Who, Macca and Bowie - our ROCK LEGENDS demonstrating the solidarity of the civilised (ie. English-speaking) peoples of the world against the ISLAMIC INFIDELS BEHIND THE 9/11 ATROCITY.

  • the who always enjoyed going on stage early and setting the bar high!

in woodstock they went on before jimi hendrix and in this concert they went on before jagger and richards!

  • @TheTzdope they upstaged the stones at their own concert... rolling stones rock n roll circus...

  • @profjohnfrinks yeah, you're right!

    they performed "a quick one"!

by the way, the concert recently aired on pbs in nyc!

  • @TheTzdope shit... i live in nyc... that performance of a quick one is one of my favs and i missed it on tv...

  • @profjohnfrinks BULLSHIT.THE WHO WAS NEVER EVER THAT GOOD!

  • @mick788194 riddle me this... why did it take over 40 years for the rock n roll circus to see the light of day... name one member of the stones and say they play their intrument better then their respective who member and id call BS on you!

  • @profjohnfrinks ARE YOU SERIOUS?THE ROCK N ROLL CIRCUS WAS NOT THERE BEST.THERE BOTH GREAT BANDS,BUT THE WHO AS GOOD AS THE STONES?NEVER!AS FOR COMPARING ,I WON'T.I LIKE JAGGER,RICHARDS,WATTS, WYMAN.I ALSO LIKE DALTRY,PETE,JOHN AND MOON.DEPENDING ON THE MOOD.

  • The Stones or The Who? Says everything that people are still having this debate in 2010!

  • @vordman IT'S THE STONES OR THE BEATLES.THE WHO WAS AND WILL BE IN THS SHADOWS OF THOSE TWO.

  • i watched this vid first and enjoyed, then next was the who's... wow, the who made this performance boring....

  • Im a huge Stones fan yet I would have to say the Who really captured the moment. They did kick ass. However, I'm glad the Stones did Miss You. To me it sounds so New Yorkish. Maybe its because New York helped make this song the most successful selling Stones song of all time :)

  • Well I ve got something to say the who might of been good. But Mick and Keith rock, better than the who. Fuck u all and HMMM Mr. Roger really sounded like shit at the super bowl, Oh wait i'm sorry the whole show sucked. Stones are better who calls themselves the who. Because the who means nobody. Mick might look old to thewholive73 but but he can still sing and move around the stadge . Roger needs some singing lessons and needs to stop check out the superbowl halftime show. stones collect moss

  • The Who stole it. Good by Mick though

  • @august251976 WHO were great and outdid the Stones..however...Daltrey is no Jagger.

  • @dannyd1572 yeah but we're looking at the group here - I don't think the Stones compare to The Who - overall package, no comparison. You're a Stones fan wich I appreciate but if you look at them from the 60's through to now, there's just something about The Who. The energy, the lyrics and raw performance style.

  • @august251976 Yeah, but two different styles of entertainment. Most critics say the Beatles owned the 60's and the Stones owned the 70's but where did the Who fit in? Agreed..the Who will blow away an audience but then again the Stones put on more of an overall show. Hard to explain but its just two different styles of entertainment. The Who can stand on a stage without much going on around and just play. Stones usually play more of a theatrical performance. Both are good though.

  • DUDE! 2 things:

    First) Nice dancing, Mick Jagger

Second) KING PAUL WAS THE AWESOME ONE! He was the one who had the idea for the concert! (*hums* talkin about freedom, talkin 'bout freeeedom, I will fight, for the right, the live in freedom!*)

  • ICONIC

  • Jagger needs to take his face to the dry cleaner to get it pressed.

  • Bullshit the Who blew them away with every other band that night. You ask ant NYPD

Fireman AND POLICE FORCE and every other law enforcment. They said all the same thing the WHO DIDN'T STEAL THE SHOW THEY WERE THE SHOW.

  • is it just or is it the case that mick in concert halls sounds like the old mick but in stadia he sounds like he's shouting and has a different voice, almost high and nasal?

  • The Who were amazing, the best performance of that night fo sure!!! But they are always underrated, I guess they couldnt get into the business of music as the Rolling Stones did, they know how to sell their products!

  • Keith lives near me in West Sussex - the local council were raising funds for the village hall re-furbishment and asked Keith if he had something they could raffle, like an album or an old guitar...Keith said "How much do you need to raise?" £38,000 was the answer. I am reliably informed he simply wrote a cheque for the full amount on the spot!!! Pure Rock'nRoll!!

  • Mick must be a little bit peeved.........The Who blew The Stones away at The Rock 'n' Roll Circus in 1968.........and now here again at Concert for NYC 2001........poor Mick....he would be upset.......Keef would think it was funny.

  • This gives me chills all over... who hooo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo!

    ~xoxo~

  • and....thank you areyoulookinatmepal, hot damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • musica de veado... huuuuuuu

  • No one had much time to prepare for this and certainly Mick and Keith did not need to do this so keep your sniping to yourself

  • They are rock and roll. There will never ever be another like the Stones.

  • Anytime you film the Stones you have to show the "hot" backup singers. C'mon now? Jeez, I barely got a second to check them out. It was a 6 minute film.

  • damm,, he screwed up one of my favorites.

  • cool! saw ol Mic in 1970! they were so Fab!

  • mick jagger is so fucking rock n' roll

  • Does anyone have the video of the firefighter saying "Osama kiss my Irish ass"?

  • Anybody know who the back up band folks are? I notice Paul Shaffer on the keyboards, and another gal playing guitar or bass next to Richards, from the David Letterman show, so I wonder, are they all the band from that show as backup for all the groups who played this concert?

  • Stones and Who both rule ! what's the point in trying to compare them to each other ? Let's enjoy their music as long as posible 'cos for the moment there is no new band that can replace them.

  • @cedrito there is no way!! Mick Jaggar has Frampton's stage presence dominated. I personally can't stand The Stones, but Mick is fun to watch. Still runs around, dances.. He's almost 70! Much better entertainer than Frampton

  • @DJTinyD Did someone actually try to compare Mick to Frampton? Wow. Talk about generation gap.

  • I have always been a Stones fan but now I just see them as a commercial business band with little interest in what they do. I prefer these days to watch the real Stones classic videos on the Tube.

  • An interesting thing to note is that when Mick Taylor left the Stones, Rory Gallagher was Jagger/Richards' preferred choice to join. Rory Gallagher turned them down, honestly..!

  • They also considered Nils Lofgren, who, A) didn't use drugs (bad mark for him from Keef) and B) got tired of waiting on an audition and joined the Springsteen band to great effect.

  • they both KICK ASS so eat your lunch and shut the fuck up

  • stones eat the whos lunch--compare their catalogs..

  • Bad frame work. Stuttering video.

  • 0:10 Jogger & his A.Rose moves.....

    completely laughable,

we'all know you're soooo fit Brenda.

    When's your new workout vid

    coming out ? ,

    aha-ahaahaha-aha, aha-ah-ah.

  • Uh, that would be Axl Rose and his Jagger moves my friend. : ) Jagger was doing that before that douchebag Rose was even born.

  • Lookin'at your trousers,

you've obviously been helping to clear

    the rubble from 9-11.

Shite.....it's one of those pré-bleached jobs. That's ONE hip outfit

    for a 65 year old. ☺

  • tears in heaven for this

  • Only 3 /5ths of the Who there that night if you are follwing that line califoniaclaybo....given the fact that Keith always counted for 2 members at least...that said i think Zak does a great job as a stand in...no Rabbit on keyboards either.. :))..both bands are great acts :))

  • Only Keith and Mick are in this one. The rest of the members are from Letterman's band.

  • Nicely put shelleys91..i'm sure there 's a lot of truth in that statement

  • The Stones suffered on rock and roll circus because they had not toured for 2 years and were carrying Brian. The Who were a regular touring band. That is the logic that made Queens live aid show better than the Who's (unfortunately!)

  • I find it amazing that people make negative comments about Mick and the Stones when they did this show. For the people who do, are you aware that Mick was 64 years old when he did this performance? Can YOUR Grandfather do this? Mine can't. Show respect where it's due or don't watch it. They're coming up on their 50th year as a band together. No other band will match that I don't think. They deserve major kudos for this.

  • Even the Rollingstones know The Who blow them off the stage have to feel sorry for them really coming up against them. But you have to give credit to everyone who was there and the reason why they were there

  • The Rolling Stones were not there that night so how did the Who blow them away? It was jagger and Richards with other various musicians doing a couple of Stones tunes out of respect. The Who had something to prove, The Stones do not. If the Stones goal was to be there in top form I am sure they could have handled the who. They have managed to for the last 50 years

  • Both Jagger and Richards know you can never follow The Who.

Two of the all time greats but The Who were always much better live.

  • Bill Wyman recently 2009 said pretty much the same thing - The Who just blew the Stones off the stage from 1968 on. The closest the Stones came to being really vital/powerful on stage were the Mick Taylor years - even Watts and Jagger when they feel like talking about it admit it without outright slamming Woods. Frankly listening to Woods try to play Sway is embarrassing.

Oldest rule in rock n' roll - do whatever you can not to follow The Who LOL.

  • I think Mick Taylor was a definite asset , and if I'm not mistaken he was with them on the "It's Only Rock/Roll, 1975,.. his work on "Time Waits For No One",...........The Stones were a band that came to play for themselves, ...after all is not that the crux of Rock and Roll

  • Agree Stones an amazing band. They made better studio albums even into the '80s with the exception of Who's Next. The band played everything live so many times before the Glyn Johns London sessions. Jagger is a musician, but an astute business man, and Best In Class *entertainer*. Stones stopped being powerful live rock n roll and we show up for ourselves before the '78 US tour. Certainly by 1981 balloons, costume changes, spectacle but weak live. Now yikes. Keith may pretend but . .

  • yeah, it's sad but true. They seem too lazy to rehearse and tighten up the sound. They sound like they rehearsed maybe an hour a day for three weeks before the tour. Well, just build a big amazing whiz bang stage and go up and posture, we know where the chords go in the songs. Keith's playing in the pirate movie was better than his live playing in the last ..30 years?

  • @AmaterasuHeika naa your wrong watch shine a light or stones in the park

  • @5starvidz4u David, I've seen them live across 4 decades. They frankly suck as a live band, beyond sloppy, out of tune and after the TTU tour the animosity among them palpable on stage. Shine a Light is a great film of a very old Holiday Inn cover band pretending to be the Stones. The Taylor years at least forced the band to have some structure on stage. Between Woods' freebasing from 1980 on and KR alcoholism, defy anyone here to produce a truly blistering set after Taylor.

  • @AmaterasuHeika meh i'm 14 saw them when i was 8 it was sweet but its the only gig i've seen so got nothing to compare it too, but from the videos on youtube they really don't suck on stage with all that jagger swagger and coolness from keith and the who have done some crazy songs but the stones have done so many good ones! in my opinion led zepp and floyd are better then the who as well

  • @5starvidz4u Opinions are for everyone at all ages! As for The Who owning the 9/11 show, check out what the NYFD and NYPD had to say at the end of the clip honoring The Who at Kennedy Center on national tv. The firefighters and policemen who went into Ground Zero make their opinion and *feelings* clear. Watch the whole thing or skip to around 7:55 or so. You might disagree with the NYFD and NYPD. I don't.

  • @AmaterasuHeika Mick Taylor was the best thing that ever happened to the stones.

  • @MrMjewel I couldn't disagree more with that statement.

  • @MrMjewel You can't make the comparison fairly based on this show. The Who had the whole band onstage, whereas Jagger and Richards were by themselves backed by the Letterman band. If the rest of the band had been there and done a set that included Gimme Shelter, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man, they could follow anybody. Saying the Who were always much better live is an opinion not a statement of fact.

Check out the Rolling Stones Live at the 10 Spot on Utube, it may surprise U

    Best

  • @ShipwreckTownBand yeah we what about rock and roll circus?...

  • @MrMjewel lol. The Who aren't as good as The Stones. 'Nuff said.

  • @JumpingKentFlash ha...ha..ha...this is another time the who blew away the stones...

  • @MrMjewel oh bullshit it's just your opinion

  • @MrMjewel The Stones are the best band live ever!!!!

  • after mick jagger watched the who's performance in the rock n roll circus, he realized that they were nothing compared to the who live and they felt really embarassed about it and he said afterwards that he considers the who to be the best live band on the planet: true story, not mine or anyone else's opinion

  • mick @ :14 looks so funny. i luv those 2 soul brothers! keith and mick 4evr!!

  • the stones are the best greatest and divine band in the world, anyone can chalange them, they are better whit every perfomance they do, all the rest of bands can say they are good, but the Rolling Stones are something else

  • Stones = Overated

The Who blew'em out in Rock and Roll Circus and blew'em out this night as well.

Mick just seems like selfish old douchebag who chases young women. Seriously, I've never heard his name mentioned in the same sentence with the word charity. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • you're just looking for an arguement you bitter old hag. how dare you diss mick. the stones have and will always be the best rock band that ever was....the who and zep and floyd to. mick an ols douchbag..what the fuck are you on?

  • I can't figure out why your comment has -2. The Who leave them limping every time!

  • Totally not true, in any way shape or form.

  • Sure it is. You've seen Rock and Roll Circus right?

  • LOVE THIS ONE !

  • Faresti meglio a rallentare.
  • miss you from the album "flashpoint" is the best version...

  • absolutely....

  • and will ever be!

  • isnt it from some girls

  • Is that Tom Scott on the sax?

  • hey tiger boy, the who were awesome , but to say they blew the stones away is way over the top, get real fella.

  • The Mighty Who blew them away here! Sorry to say! Well no I'm not sorry just true!

  • you cant say they blew the stones away becuz only two members of the stones are there so yea

  • Well, the Who blew every one away that night, it was a God Like perfomance they put on.

  • @colvo115 well if that's the case, they would have had to have been mossssst unbelievably crazy,

because this absolutely blows me away! ~xoxo~

  • @colvo115 Hardly god like - you must have been drunker than me. Daltry sounded like crap. At least Mick can still sing and doesn't come out of hiding from travel shows to do a concert once in a blue moon. Sad. The States didn't have any good bands by this time so they had to get all British ones.

  • @RoaringTiger281 wel ive heard ppl say that they did on the rock n roll circus dvd..back in the 60's..and i dont agree but hey ho each to their own.

  • The stones are the best, yeah ! there not as good as they used to be, but remember when they were in there prime they rocked! and to see them still rocking at there age brings tears to my eyes! Awsome !

  • I didn't hear anything different than when I see them in concert. I'm the biggest Stones fan you'll find and I must admit, their last good concert was Still Life in 1981, which was in support of their last great album Tattoo You also in 1981. They used to rock, now they have a huge brass section and overdue it on the cheese when it comes to stringing out songs. Miss the old Stones. But still love em!

  • I totally agree. Every single song that they've put out since 1978 (when Miss You came out) has been completely unoriginal. The only reason "Tattoo You" is good, is because some of the tunes were recorded as early as 1972!!!! I prefer the 64-72 Stones myself, although the mid to late 70's stuff is ok, but yeah after "Tattoo You" it's no go for me.

  • Yeah, your right! Worried About You, which is an uncovered gem, was recorded back then as was the foundation for Start Me Up. I really think they lost a lot when they lost Mick Taylor. Ronnie Wood still seems like the new guy to me. Then when they lost Bill Wyman in 89...that was pretty much it. I'm a fan of the 69'-75' Stones.

  • There are already people who play songs just like on the record. You can find them in a Karaoke bar. You can't miss them--they have no style.

  • boy he sure fucked that song . . I HATE it when it sounds unlike the record . .that is bull crap . . play the dam song note for note like it is on the hit record. HE FORGOT his own lyrics . . great !

  • Gotta love the fans who know more about the musician's job than the musician...

  • a big YEA to that about the fans ... get that ... "fans" ... who know more about doing a piece in "live" then the musicians, it's like the gymnastic or golf analyst, naaa, it is never good enough ... shaaad appp all ready.

  • Comment removed

  • Mick Jagger (and Keith Richards) love NYC and NYC . . . especially NYPD and FDNY love them. This performance was great; it's too bad some folks don't understand the beauty of a live performance.

  • it's their song so they can changed the lyrics to whatever they want

  • I remember a journalist once described MJ as llooking like Yoda in a woman's wig.

  • age makes no difference, if it rocks, it rocks. Mick has such a positive energy on stage. the man knows how to make people shake their ass and have a good time, period. watching Mick rock out has always been one of the funniest and powerful things i've seen in R&R.

  • he's just trying too hard. not a natural performance. R&R circus is the real stones. these are corpses

but hey, he was just smoked by THE WHO!

that would through off anyone's chi lol
