  • HRAP

  • hi. i have a prob with hori stick every time i use it, it works for up to 6 commands then it hangs? i think its in turbo mode? how do i disable it thanks

  • amazing review

  • Hey can somebody help me? I got the SF4 TE madcatz fightsick, but i also have a retrocompatible "fat" ps3, and play some games for the PS2 on it, like Guilty Gear, and Capcom vs SNK 2, KOF, etc, and i dont know why but the madcatz arcade stick doesnt work when i want to play this PS2 games on my PS3, is there anything i could do to change it ot somebody know which arcade stick should i get? to play ps2 games on a retrocompatible ps3 D: SORRY BAD ENGLISH

  • @cerdo6661 You see the reason that company is called madcatz is because that is what they use to make their products, mad cats. I suggest getting a hori or seimitsu stick, theyare built much better and should work for ps2 games.

  • does it work on pc?

  • Isn' it called a "fightstick?"

  • @Ammaculate44 "FightStick" Is currently a trademark of madcatz, so, technically, no, it is not a fightstick.

Also, X-arcade is freaking terrible. Their chinese dime-a-dozen parts have been known to have dead microswitches when they shipped. They are terrible.

  • @nerrage I see. Only 7 months ago.

  • do hori sticks hav a slanted top?

  • how do u connect it to ur ps3

  • with the usb cable....

  • I own a bunch of sticks including the xarcade and the HRAPs are superior.

  • can u give me a good stick for around 50 bucks please? preferrably one with 8 way restrictor plate

  • no.. x-arcade is only good for casual gaming. For real gaming, Hori is better, or the Madcatz TE.

  • lmao "i dont know what all these other things do"

    haha awesome review

  • what kind of gate does the joystick have? square, octogonal or circular?

  • square.

  • thanks, I bought it a few weeks ago and found out the hard way :P but thanks!

  • so like it? is it worth it?

  • very much so, I'm going to mod it soon anyway so the gate hardly matters bye-bye warranty!

  • great i ordered mine today... so i ll see if it ll improve my playing :) are the standard buttons SO bad? so do i have to get sanwa buttons or is it okay?

  • their horrible..., I'm ordering in some sanwa buttons at the end of the month with my octo-gate.

  • oh :O okay....

  • 8-way/octagonal

  • the one thats green looks like its for ps2? does that one work on america ps2 consoles since is like a japan import?

  • this is sooo badddddddddd.

    Ordering One next month

  • love the background music man.

  • Just got mine in today ($99 from Amazon US). Definitely a great stick. Purchased for BlazBlue :)

The buttons are a bit hard for my taste though. I'll be looking into more sensitive buttons. Aside from that, it's definitely a great purchase.

  • So you got the last one huh? I was looking at that stick for Blazblue also.

I ended up ordering from the Marketplace. Came in great.

  • what gaes can u play with this?

  • Is the protective foil on top removable ? Your HRAP3 for PS3 just looks like you have removed it.

  • this is comen with tekken 6 bundle

  • Hey bro ... i have a question...

is this stick good for Tekken ?

  • i see this stick in play-asia for 76euro..so this stick is compatible for my ps3eu...pls helpme cause i want this stick :):)sorry for my english:)

  • this should work with any ps3.

  • i want to ask u something...all sticks in the worlds its region free???iam for europe...if i buy stick for usa or japan is compatible for my ps3???sorry for my POOR ENGLISH..pls help me:)

  • Umm, your obviously stupid, it's for arcade players who play fighting games, it's not for using on Call Of Duty or any of that shit.

  • I own this stick its a great stick, i think the Sega virtua Stick is one of the few that is rated higher than it, but that stick is even harder to find than that HRAP3 is now. All joysticks are hard to find now. But if you are interested in the HRAP3 keep checking Amazon from day to day because some do come in but go fast. Don't over pay for one.

  • Just replace the hori stock buttons with Sanwa/Semitsu and you'd have a custom HRAP3 on par with the "best" joysticks out there.

  • looks like im going to need hours and hours of pratice when i get this stick...

  • depressed, you are.

  • i believe i am using this model on my ps3. It is great to play with, especially SF4.

  • I'm going to gut a laptop that plays nothing but emulators, and stick it in the bottom of one of these.

  • I got the Sega Virtua Stick High Grade back when VF5 was released for the PS3.

Someone compare and contrast that stick with this please. Thanks.

  • i got them their good once you break them in and get them loose it like using a real arcade stick

  • you sound dissapointed

  • I agree.

  • yo if i get the ps3 hrap3, and i put guilty gear for ps2 into my ps3, can i play it

  • yes you can

  • this video is depressing

  • Does the SF4 TE Stick have Sanwa parts?

  • Yep.

  • Hey folks, I am wondering if anyone has actually removed the protective plastic from this joystick. It's a bit hard to get off, but I hate having plastic on it :)

  • why would you want to remove it?

  • if i were to get my hands on this, i would have a pretty swell time playing lbp

  • To be honest, These sticks are pointless for Little Big Planet. Buy them for fighting games.

  • Does this one have SANWA buttons in it?

  • No.

  • i have a cuestion, this controller can play the ps2 games in the ps3?

  • you can buy this in amazon

  • what's so good about it?

  • is it reliable?

  • does this stick work for ps2 games?? i need to know

  • There are PS2 ones made, but they are hard to find. My bud found me a use damn near mind for only 25$ but be expect to pay 125$ new.

  • Getting it for christmas ^^

  • For some reason its not a real FIGHTING arcade stick to me if the joystick doent have the exclamation point style; I'm tired of that freakin ball on the ones they sell now.

  • it's Japanese style

  • exclamation point = american

    ball = japanese

  • oh..

Well balls ftw anyways (that sounded sooo wrong)

  • hahah, It's called a cherry stick not ball

  • lol

  • I'm so getting this. Thanks for the video.

  • How much did it cost you where you bought it

  • can you use the device to play pes soocer or football games?

  • what is this compatible with?

  • PS3/PC/PS2 games compatible with PS3.

  • This can also be used on the PC right?

  • It can indeed.

  • hows the buttons?

  • Speaking from experience here, Hori buttons suck. However they measure out to be 30mm and Sanwa OBSF-30's would make for a very nice mod.

I had a DOA4 stick on 360 and the buttons bust, I am now using a 360 stick I made myself with Seimitsu LS-32 stick and Sanwa OBSF-30 and OBSF-24 snap in buttons for 360 and PC. Works a charm.

  • Hey where do you buy your stuff? since you also live in the UK do you no any online shops or anything that sell parts and ship them to the UK (I no play Asia ships to UK but £40+ for P&P is stupid for small things like buttons.)

  • gremlinsolutions (dot) co (dot) uk

    or akihabarashop (dot) jp

I personally got my parts from gremlinsolutions and I got a friend to buy a HRAP3 (white) off of akihabarashop.

If you buy a stick off of akihabarashop you get a 10% discount on arcade parts, only problem is they are based in Japan and must be paid in Yen.

gremlinsolutions is UK based and I highly recommend either sites.

What do you plan on doing with the parts anyway?

  • I am going to be modding a cheap arcade stick (The USB Fight stick) putting in sanwa parts and give it a pain job Etc.

  • I ordered HRAP3, and I should be getting it very soon, so.. I was gonna buy 8 OBSF-30s from akihabarashop but since you have to pay in Yens is it better to buy from gremlinsolutions? Or should I buy from Lizard Lick, people in SRK usually recommend Lizard Lick and/or akihabarashop, so which one is better?

  • The majority of SRK users are Americans though - so that is why they recommend Lizard Lick.

If you're only going to buy 8 buttons then you should just order from the closest one to you.

Akihabarashop is famed for it's trust, consistancy of selling real parts and not "fake" parts, and it's customer service.

  • hey does this work on ps2 games?? cause hori says it works only on ps3 games but i heard there is a firmware that fixed this problem.

so can ps3 hori arcade sticks actually play with ps2 games???!!??

  • If your playing on a PS3 and using the backwards compatibility, then yes. I've tried it with Third Strike and Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus and works a charm!

A firmware I think it was 1.70 fixed this problem

  • nice so all ps3 arcade sticks should work with ps2 games now??

  • Oh yes. I am getting this for the Ps3. Hori for Tekken DR and T6. Mas for MvC2 and Street fighter related games. I just hate playing Tekken with an American stick.

  • Virtua Stick High Grade is a perfect copy of arcade parts...

HRAP3 and other Hori models are amazing but the VSHG is the way to go if you can actually manage to get your hands on one....

  • hmm idunno. many reviews have gone on to say this is the best stick to go for the ps3 with. they say it resembles the arcade feel better than any stick out there which is good for me since my only experience with a stick is at the arcade. i know this stick is smaller than the pro 2 right? i dont mean to sound rude either but making errors like crouching then going to block but jumping instead sounds like it's more your fault then the stick.

  • why would square gates effect someones opinion when it comes to 2d fighters? i really want to get this stick and i'll be playing guilty gear accent core and sf 3rd strike and soul calibur 4. amongst a couple more 2d fighters to come, plus sf 4.

is this the right way to go for me? i just dont get why 2d fans dont like square gates, how badly does it effect their playing?

  • i dont like this stick cause the stick movement is wayyyy too smooth. i find i end up jumping and get hit with stuff when moving from crouch block to stand block. ex; crouch blocking mirror, then switching to stand block too quickly the stick will go just a little too far up and end up jumping while blocking the mirror, hence...getting hit. and i dont like the way the buttons feel when pressing them...the springs under them are too soft. and the whole thing is too big. really inconvenient.

  • HRAP just rulez tekken goes way better w/it

  • i wanna get the ONE with rapid fire, i'll kill people in COD4.. does it work on FPS games or just games like Tekken and Virtua fighter

  • to play cod4 you would need 2 joysticks this only has one. its realy ment for fighting games and old shooter like doom that only require one joystick

  • can u play this with the ps2

  • such sexy sticks! D:

  • where did u get HRAP 1?

  • where can i buy one of these?

  • can you use this on a computer to play mame or snes roms?

  • can u use it with ps2 games running on the ps3? like SC3 or Street fighter 3rd strike?

  • hells yeah!

  • is the joystick movement circular or squared?

  • Square gates.

  • good i like square gates better

  • Yeah, I don't like the American Haap sticks. I can't play Tekken with them. Square gates over circular one all the time.

  • I agree with you guys. Thats why all the standard Hori sticks and Sega sticks comes with square gate. Only people that don't like square gate are 2D fighting fans or those that grew up in the US that are used to the HAPP sticks.

  • it feels like a silky smooth stick on an arcade machine. the HRAPs are competition sticks. I highly recommend it.

  • I am getting an HRAP3 next week and I'm actually still new to sticks. Will getting such a high quality stick to learn with be easy? In your experience, how long did it take you to get used to stick and does playing with it improve your game that much?

  • I play mostly SF and Marvel Vs Capcom, and I can pull off my moves easier with the HRAP. you'll get used to the stick pretty fast. I have an X-Arcade dual also, and the HRAP kicks its ass.

  • I see. Those games use what I and my friends say, "Hadou-ken, and Shoryu-ken" motions. I think fighting games in general were designed with sticks in mind.

Yeah, HRAP3 is definately a good place to start. What do you feel about the stock Hori buttons? Most people switch them out with Sanwa/Seimetsu ones.

  • yeah you can.

  • Looks better than my Hori stick for the 360. The buttons should be dark red if anything.

  • For an arcade joystick, I feel the size is perfect. My other stick is the X-arcade dual, now thats a tank.

  • one thing i dont like about those and i want one but its got so much unessisary bulk. It has to sit on something on the lap it just looks huge i have a dreamcast joystic for sf3 and all other fight games i like it cause its just right ive been looking at theese and i really want one but i see that size left and right...

  • DIFFENCULUR BU-EEEEEEEEENSSSSSSS

  • Hey, do you have problem pressing 2-4 buttons at once, cause the stick I lastly bought, VSHG was way too sensitive, making it nearly imbossible to press many buttons at once.

So umm do you have this problem with HRAP3? :/

  • no problem with pressing multiple buttons. The VSHG had a manufacturing defect in the initial shipments, maybe that is part of the problem.

  • i was wondering where did you get this cause i want 1 but i don't know where to get it XD i live in the U.K btw

  • play-asia dot com . I cant post the link. Totaly worth shipping

  • thakn s but i dont really want to pay that much XD i just get the normal 1 not RAP =]

  • hi friend watch my table joy stick.

try search (home arcade) 4:52 time

i also have table joy stick for ps2

    i hope you like it.

  • WTF TURBO that sucks

  • make sure you switch it to left analog stick mode. theres a switch somewhere, im getting mine in about 4 days so im not sure exactly where, but I know its there and then your good to go.

  • What difference does it make??? Thanks:)

  • thanks hazegp1 I wasnt aware of that.

  • hey you know that thing works on your comp no driver or anything just plug it in and hold home. Make sure the switch on the back is set off digital

  • This is shit

  • yeah, not much difference in the feel between the older version and new. i own 2 hori sticks and don't plan on buying the new one.

  • the copy of ps3 im laugingh of you in their faces XD

  • There is a manufacturing defect in the VSHG, so the HRAP3 is the one to get for the next few months. Looks like I picked the right one.

  • Yes, I heard - it really is a shame. I am still not sure if I should get the HRAP3 or wait for the new VSHG batch from Sega.

  • Great. Can you please post a video of you using the HRAP3 ?
